Maybe a forretress for hazards, slow pivot and defense. Also heracross cuz he’s cool and moxie plus sticky webs seems like it’s be pretty busted on an ingame team. Not sure what’s available at that point in the game since I haven’t played in a while.

It's too tedious. You need a new team for every trainer. The training QoL does not help when you have to make this many teams. Also I dislike how your opponents aren't fair battles, they purposely have access to better shit than you do. Also also, frick custom Pokemon in a battle sim rom.

Karengayging is one of the most accessible things RR does, Falkner might be the worst part of the game until you get more teammates but there are always options

I'm completely serious when I say this is why I love the game. On Minimal Grinding mode it's just a blast, I love constantly swapping different mons in and out of my team.
By the endgame you've probably sanded off the rough edges to create the perfect team; even then, you're not limited to only having a "meta" team. You can comfortably pick your 1-3 favorites even if they are mid and have the other half of your team cover their weaknesses and reasonably beat the game on Normal. It only gets autistic on Hardcore mode.
Radical Red (Normal, Min Grinding) is single player Pokemon gameplay at its absolute peak.
The gym leaders/E4 members don't feel special, they aren't doing anything different from a regular trainer because starting from Sabrina the stop monotyping which while not a Bad thing what they do start to do can't even be considered Theming either. It's just random comp teams with no flavoring. And don't get me started on the haphazard use of legendaries outside of Giovanni with Mewtwo. Why does Lorelei have Kyogre, Why does Bruno have fricking Zacian.

Gaia is a hack that is the most true to Pokemon's regular formula while also being a brand new region with a good story. It's more Pokemon for people who like Pokemon.
Radical Red is more comp for people who like comp but don't want to play Smogon/ladder all the time

They can't be assed to play an actual original hack because those don't appease the algorithms, meanwhile the recognizable nature of Kanto and Hoenn do.
And since Rad Red got massive views for said Poketubers, all the hackers want clout too, so it's now their god given goal to get all of the ecelebs to stream their 50+ failures to show how ball-bustingly brutal their hack is because you have to use a capped Level 6 Caterpie to fight a Level 15 Zygarde 10% with perfect coverage and a Life Orb or some shit.

Most of the smaller nuzlocke channels play other hacks too, but there isn't much substance to them so they usually only get 1-2 videos. Some exceptions are Emerald Rogue, Infinite Fusion, that moronic map randomizer meme etc.
I think her argument would make more sense if she complained about FlygonHG and SilphSpectre. Their monotype nuzlocke shit is fricking boring to watch.

Hacks without new regions or mons are much easier to make. Simple as. Go play gaia, clover and prism though. Great original hacks. Better yet, google “pokemon romhack original.” There are plenty. That being said, there are also a few games that don’t change much but are still really good. Pokemon pyrite for instance is my favorite way to play crystal. Radical red is for smogongays like me who enjoy building unique teams but need a break from sweating on the ladder. It is really a niche audience.

There hasn't been one since 4.0, which added all of the Paldea Pokemon at the time plus Walking Wake and Iron Leaves.
We'll probably get a 4.5 or 5.0 sometime next year once they figure out how to put Teras into the engine, that way Pokemon like Ogerpon and Terapagos can be running at full performance (as Pokemon meant for enemy teams only until you acquire their Gift Code, of course).

Because I played Radical Reddit and it was genuinely the second-worst experience I've ever had with a pokemon game (first was Clovshit). It's not hard, it's just a puzzle game. You're given the pieces before each gym and are told "frick you, figure it out, if you have autistic compcheater knowledge you MIGHT succeed but frick you anyway". There's no sense of adventure, no fun to be had, no interesting changes, Radical Reddit is the worst fricking dogshit and it can go die in a fire.
did they make it worse in recent years? i played it a while back and it didn't seem all that bad. i certainly never had to swap out team members for any of the boss battles, though my team did naturally evolve as i went through the game.
Every update has made it worse and worse. Compounding changes upon changes while trying to maximise the effort needed to find the counter team for each next trainer fight.
I can't wait for Pokemon distribution to become even more strict once Terastalization is implemented, solely because a dual-type Pokemon could get a Tera Typing that sheds an otherwise glaring weakness it has to a major opponent's team.
And in that same vein, it'll be fun when they start stacking Mega Evolution AND Terastal on top of each other, meaning now you have to contend with shit like the final Giovanni fight involving Tera Boosted Expanding Force from Mega Mewtwo Y.

I see no point in playing "a romhack" that is just the game, not matter how many changes and cool things it has. Rather play a shitty, badly made game like Pokemon Wack, because it's a completely new experience. Same thing for fakemons.
