It's worse than that. One of the streamers said they asked if they could have someone make an emote that matched the artstyle of the game and Ody told them no, it had to be an existing channel emote.

At least nobody uses them anymore. I've seen one streamer emote moistface in the past 5 months and it was like the day of the most recent patch.
None of the players that stuck with the game use them, only the players that join for a week and then drop it use them.
It took ages to get anyone else that wanted to try it, and when I did, it plopped me into bot matches despite there being players online, so I dropped it
The game has its flaws, but what really killed it was the fat hyper comp games struggle to find a new market
Most of those players are already grinding established games, and the rest of people find anything with that level of competition too stressful and anxiety inducing. All the people I introduced to the game liked the concept but found the actual matches super stressing and draining.

Always online games suck and if you aren't constantly updating with new seasons it will lose its playerbase fairly quickly

I played a decent amount, it was fun but holy shit devs were absolutely clueless when it came to balancing and monetization. They kept playing into their weaknesses (skins that took months to make for a select few characters, constant balance changes that served to piss more people off than satisfy) and sidelined the things that were actually popular (emotes and casual play). Not that I wasn't a compgay, but even I could recognize the game was going to fricking die if the devs didn't cater to the casual players (aka 90% of the playerbase)

Maybe, there's still more skins being datamined and since the next game is supposed to be f2p multiplayer too it'll have skins, so they might have the 3d modelers make the skins and then port them back to OS.
Maybe this summer(fall) we might have a summer rerun event with the finii skin getting added.

I think they really fricked up making their e-girl black. Like, tan would have been fine, but they made her DARK. No audience for such dark e-girls, they lost their chance at dicky support. What a misstep.
They fricked up with the dumb ass parachute pants and overall outfit. She feels more like a gremlin then a child and simply changing her to be white wouldn't make her better.
It would have been better since it could have been salvaged with skins. There's no chance of a skin that makes her white, though.

If they added a frick ton of content, a bunch of good tutorials and single player stuff and did a huge marketing campaign again then maybe.
They tried this before but forgot to make the game actually good before rereleasing it.

They're still working on it, but it's only 2 devs now while the rest are working on the next game.
They just need to keep it alive until their next game releases and maybe people will come back.
