You gotta actually search for it
      >Gumshoe, though he isn't always reliable (multiple)
      >Butler in OP (1-2)
      >Edgeworth (1-4)
      >Angel(I don't remember her outright lying but I might be wrong, 1-5)
      >Lotta(2-2)
      >Moe(2-3)
      >Powers(2-4)
      >Kudo(3-3)
      >Bikini, Larry(3-5)
      That's for trilogy at least

Lotta straight up lied about her pictures because she wanted to sell them later on.

Also because Japanifornia is canonically a crime-ridden hellhole so a prosecutor's suspicious business is overlooked if it gets criminals in prison / executed.

Then you should be in jail anyway for lying about it. It's a perfect system.

          Anonymous

No, the perfect system would be one where life is illegal. Only the living can commit crimes, so life itself is a crime. The crime is life, the sentence is death!

            Anonymous

Judge Death's mistake is he only recognizes his own law. Every time he kills someone in Mega City (which is a fricking lot), he functionally commits a crime as he is out of his jurisdiction and in one that doesn't recognize his authority. Because he is undead, he is proving that you don't have to be alive to commit a crime. Therefore. Judge Death accidentally disproved his own philosophy.

              Anonymous

You can choose to not recognize the authority of a cop, won't stop him from shooting you in the head after you refuse to obey his commands. Anyway, everywhere is his jurisdiction, especially since the local law is insufficient at bringing criminals to justice. Just look at the crime rates back on Deadworld, a whopping zero percent!

why should the torture stop at a false confession? if they are lying to me i should get to keep torturing them

        Anonymous

Of course it would only be used against people that you know did the crime but can't prove it to get a confession out of them.
Do you have an idea of how many criminals avoid prison because there isn't enough proof against them when everyone and their mothers know they did it, and they go about and commit the same crime again and again?

If you cant prove that's on you homie and you should instead congratulate them for the perfect crime

          Anonymous

If you can't prove it you can't punish them for it. If you could just pin down anyone for a crime because you "know they did it" without any evidence what's stopping the cops from just grabbing people they don't like?

            Anonymous

by having a system in place that makes sure that only non-moronic homosexuals can do this. you know, people who -actually- want to improve life

              Anonymous

So a system that only works if the cops are all good and moral people who do no wrong and never abuse their power?
Yeah, no. Prove the person is guilty or frick off, stop being a lazy homosexual and actually investigate like you're supposed to do.

In Ace Attorney it's standard practice to prepare witnesses, but the judge does reprimand the prosecutor if they say something about being told to conceal relevant hints.

    The classic one:

The funniest part is that Edgeworth here was careful enough to not submit an autopsy report at all until Phoenix brought up his own, so he is technically allowed to do that.

        Anonymous

As far I know, evidence should be reported before the trial, but whatever, they allowed a parrot to "talk" and they are ok with a little girl being possessed by Mia and being allowed in court.

          Anonymous

I am not sure Phoenix ever bothers with reporting evidence before the trial, seeing how the prosecution acts shocked at his findings.
Edgeworth most likely only submitted the update and fricking knew Phoenix was about to bring it up eventually.

Why would you ever go testify as a witness before consulting a lawyer if there's any chance of you being a suspect, which there always is if the law enforcement has already interrogated you about the case before (which you also should never do without getting a lawyer there first). Sure, it's extremely questionable why the consulting lawyer would be the case prosecutor, but beyond that I don't see anything wrong happening here.

Also, I must add, how in the name of frick did the final trial manage to go on so long, off of so longwinding tangents? I just don't feel like any court in britbong would've allowed all the proceedings, with some Japs leading both prosecution and defense, to boot.

No but coercing witnesses to not mention important shit just because they don't fit your narrative is illegal even in AA, despite being able to "prepare" witnesses.
