I don't think I've ever met a character more despicably pathetic than Sosiel in all of fiction. After romancing Daeran in my LG Angel run I decided to give Sosiel a try on CE Demon run. It's so fricking insane how he just so meekly sets aside his morality in the face of the atrocities you're committing because he doesn't want to give up taking your wiener. He doesn't become evil with you, he resents what you do and knows it to be wrong, but he doesn't do shit about it after you scare him back into obedience. I usually just dismiss him from the party entirely first chance I get these days. I have to wonder why the hell no one told his writer at any point that this wasn't fricking stupid.

tl;dr: The setting in that game is that a mage overlord nobody really knows much about has taken over the whole world (you start out at the war to take over the last bit of free land left). Mage overlord makes these scrolls that cause gigantic spells to happen that can singlehandedly win wars and shit, and he has personal heralds cast them on the battlefield. One of them is a gigantic storm that happened shortly before the start of the game during which he gets trapped. It killed his entire unit but what it did to him instead was that it strapped a million fricking pieces of metal from the gear of the soldiers around and sealed him inside his armor, trapping him in metal.
He doesn't want to get out. Ever. Because if it happened during that storm then that must be because it was the will of that overlord. But nobody agrees with it, everyone is just like "Dude, you just got shit luck, go see a fricking blacksmith". Now he swims in his own piss and shit and smells awful and can rarely sleep.

You know people always rag on the Pathfinder games for their insane difficulty and inflated stats, but compared to Baldur's Gate, it's actually pretty casual.
If you don't have the right spells or weapons in Baldur's Gate, then you literally can't hurt enemies like Mages, Liches, and Iron Golems.
Even the high level melee enemies are a massive threat, since they love to rush past your frontline and gank your squishies.
Pathfinder in comparison was really easy. Even if your build is shit, you can mindlessly beat every encounter by stacking buffs and spamming grease/stinking cloud/put etc.

He can also force either you or the enemy to roll an 11 on your attack roll and saves. Which is huge both for Melee Builds and DC casters.
And he can be a decent martial if you give him a pet.
And if you give him expanded arsenal, then he's a top tier DC caster with Command and Greater Command

I always have camcam tank. Usually i have a character "tank" then discard them later when everyone is both a damage dealer and tank but Cam never really falls off.
Cam is very versitile, her stats and starting class allow her to be a bunch of different things. But she doesn't exceed in anything like some companions, but she can cover any role the party is missing.
