Janky visuals that aged poorly with non-existent tanimations that are worse than RE1 with anime story and pretty bad voice acting.
Luckily the meat and potatoes of the game, the gameplay loop is as solid as in any other RE game, plus the game is quite long too. People who understand RE tend to enjoy it quite a bit.
I think RE0’s zapping system might’ve been better used for this game. Would’ve been cool to be able to switch over to Steve/Chris at any time instead of only at certain parts.
>wesker is neo >ugly, grey, dreary, bland visuals >run through same areas with chris and claire in the same run
I like CV/X because it's a fixed angle RE game, but it is very weak compared to the trilogy
I don't remember it being polarizing at all? it got nothing but praise when it came out. It just hasn't aged as well as 1-3 is all, but don't rewrite history.
It wasn't quite were it materialized but it's where the seeds were set for Wesker coming back as some Matrix ass Doctor Doom wannabe homosexual that pretty much fricked the series harder than Jill on Nemesis porn
You don't have to be trans to be a cross dresser. In Alfred's case he had some sort of involuntary multiple personality disorder that was caused by some sort of psychic link with his frozen clone sister Alexia, or something weird nonsense like that. But it is comical, how that one line of dialogue triggers people. But hey, back in 2000, nobody would have batted an eye at it.
The reason why people think Alfred is trans, is because a lot of people who identify as "trans", happens to be cross-dressers (Chris Chan being a prime example of that).
True, I’m just tired of Ganker’s insane troony obsession.
There's no "obsession", you're just triggered by the negative posts about it.
It wasn't polarizing. It was roundly considered to be the best RE game yet, and one of the main reasons to own a Dreamcast.
Years later, zoomers who weren't even born when the game was released have decided it was now a forgotten or controversial black sheep of the franchise because it doesn't have a number in the title.
Plot retcons, since in some playthroughs Wesker could have been decapitated rather than stabbed. Steve is whiny. Too hard compared to previous games, throws a ton of enemies at you with a very harsh difficulty shift.
>Too hard compared to previous games,
I thought it was the easiest. No RE game makes it easier to kneecap and instantly neutralize zombies with the knife.
I don't like CV, or 0 for that matter, because they're completely 100% linear. No branching character paths like RE1, no A/B scenarios like 2, not even the little quick choice events like 3.
Like Dino Crisis the slapped on 3D adds very little. If they let you move the camera a bit to make the combat less shit like in SH2 it could have been acceptable.
Also frick those artificially long loading screens holy shit
Blocky unspooky Dreamcast graphics and more animefication of the plot
>more animefication of the plot
Wasn't it a direct RE2 sequel from the same writers?
I'd believe it because RE2 had a moronic story as well

Nah, the level design doesn't hold up. They went crazy with the size without consideration of how to traverse those levels.

Why do people say this as if it applies to the original CV?
He still had super powers in the original version too.

What parts of the game have aged worse than the trilogy lol
Edgy early 2000s emo kid sidekick
Non Jpeg Backgrounds, the ps1 originals hold up better than CV or Dino Crisis as a result
Everyone was blown the frick away seeing the transition to 3D. I worked at retail and it sold a shit ton of Dreamcasts. These kids don't know shit.
Best knife there has ever been in an RE game.
it was the first they didn't release for the playstation, for whatever reason
>Matrix Wesker
>Bullet Sponge Enemies
>Terrible villain/villainess
>Steve
Like a nice steak that was overcooked and under seasoned.
It wasn't quite were it materialized but it's where the seeds were set for Wesker coming back as some Matrix ass Doctor Doom wannabe homosexual that pretty much fricked the series harder than Jill on Nemesis porn
it was a Dreamcast exclusive for a while. That made everyone else tsundere for the game
The Dreamcast is still the best version. It has the best lighting.
>Why
Because capcom dared to bypass the playstation in favor of sega. Same as Resident Evil 0. Snoys never forgive.
I liked it

>there’s no obsession
Bro, I occasionally still go to Ganker. We all know that’s not true.
Alfred is a clear nod to Norman Bates. troony obsessed zoomers haven’t seen Psycho.
posting in the wrong aspect ratio should be a bannable offense
no first psx release.
You mean PS2? A PS1 version would look like total shit.

This. Zoomers are ignorant little morons, keeek.

It's not. RE4 is.
Why is Dreamcast CV graphically superior to PS2? I thought PS2 was suppose to be powerful.
Dreamcast has more video memory and built-in antialiasing. And VGA output.
I don't like CV, or 0 for that matter, because they're completely 100% linear. No branching character paths like RE1, no A/B scenarios like 2, not even the little quick choice events like 3.
it's the most underrated RE and would be a classic if it wasn't for the last third of the game
