Why was Daxter such a piece of shit? Why were a lot of the big PSP games terrible, for that matter? The system has plenty of good games, but stuff like this was just awful.

Yeah I had a psp and a few games and all of them were absolute shit with the sole exception being the wipeout game and I guess lumines was cool.
but Metal Gear Ac!d was SHIT and Untold Legends was probably even worse. had another one I didn't like but can't remember what it was
Ac!d 2 is pretty good. Can't defend 1, though. Same deal with God of War: Chains is dogshit, Ghost is fun.
honestly I had never played a metal gear solid game in my life, i just knew they were supposed to be good so I took a gamble with Ac!d. not sure what I was thinking, the Gamestop guy even warned me it wasn't like the other games when my mom was buying it and I was like "doesn't matter too much, I haven't played them," and he just sighed.
In my defense I was like 11 or something.
anyways, back to Lumines. funny story
Ended up meeting one of the music artists who had a song in Lumines on a World of Warcraft private server and he sent me a copy of FLStudio and said I should try making music.
all because he liked my character's name, I guess he thought it would be a cool artist name.
What are some good psp games?

Read, you dense frick.
I mean I would assume. Same reason I skipped over Like A Dragon Black Panther. I also skipped Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins even if it's not as popular, and a ton of games that are more divisive.
Do people always mention the Mega Man remakes?
>Killzone Liberation
I'm so fricking asshurt the Vita game was just an FPS instead of a twin stick shooter.
ATV Off Road Fury Blazin Trails. For me it was hitting my SSX itch. Those extreme sports games were so much fun back then and the soundtracks were killer
Motorstorm Artic Edge
Super Stardust Portable
Because games like these were just "Let's make a new version of our big popular game but shittier". Good portable games aren't just scaled back versions of good console games.
I liked the MediEvil remake, I was lowkey autistic for the original as a kid
New wife drop
Daxter was an alright game tho?
I mean if you've never played a good platformer in your entire life, sure.
>What if we took everything bad about Jak 1 and combined it with all of the problems of 2???
Ready at Dawn were visionaries. No wonder they went on to make The Order and a bunch of terrible VR games.
Oh shit I didn't realize they made this lmao
I think Ghost of Sparta is the only good game they ever developed, and they had Santa Monica over their shoulder for that one.
I've only ever played Daxter 1 over a decade and I dont remember being bad at all, Anon. Sure, it was short as frick but it was also clearly just meant to be a side-story.
>Sure, it was shit, but I played it when I was 12 and it wasn't trying to be good. : (
Anon, tons of great PSP games came out the same year. It was a glorified tech demo.
Jak 1.5
Infected was some jank fun. Had a good soundtrack

PSP games were okay for being little shitty games on the psp. I think the main problem with the perception of these is that people were expecting a PS2 in their pocket. The problem on the side of the devs was making shitty versions of PS2 games instead of making something that belongs on the platform like 'tendo did with their handhelds. It should have just been a JRPG, metroidvania, isometric dungeon crawler machine.
>I think the main problem with the perception of these is that people were expecting a PS2 in their pocket.
That wouldn't explain people loving PS1 and lesser tier games on the platform. The issue was on devs trying to max grafix but not having good systems to support them. Stuff like Dissidia and Peace Walker were great.
