I liked the darker palette and design they went with the game. I think it is because the world Rayman explores is set mostly in swamps, jungles, or caves so it has darker lighting. The original Rayman and Legends design choices are great too.
I'm loving the new narrative that Rayman 2 and 3 are edgy and that's why it's okay for Rayman in the crossover show to be edgy too.
Wait those images people were posting were from a Netflix show? I thought that was someone pushing AI images. Who greenlit that? Goodness me.
There's literally nothing edgy about either game. Rayman 2 is a fairy tale set in a grim world, but you're still surfing on serpents, riding plum fruits against lava and ultimately gathering magical masks for a bearded midget god. And you have to be fricking moronic to call Rayman 3 edgy, the game where Globox swallows a guy called ANDRÉ and half your playtime is spent taking him to various doctors who play his limbs like instruments.
I didn't say it's edgy. I said gloomy and oppressive because the game literally takes place in world where the inhabitants lost their hope and and are now filled with despair.
perfectly calculated internet incel outrage that brings in huge numbers for the creators of the show.
last time was the Chip n Dale fly bullshit.
you fricking homosexuals are predictable like conditioned lab rats, holy frick.
Literally peak Rayman, only slightly ahead of 3. Everything after 3 was either shit or just okay. Like Rayman Origins and Legends aren't bad games, but they're nothing like Rayman and they're kinda forgettable.

This is by far the most autistic point brought up against Rayman. Sure 2 and 3 had a little edge but it's still clearly aimed at kids, it's not the trite generic hopeless apocolypse racial messaging bullshit that netflix shows pushing.
There were tons of moments of levity and beauty from nature to remind you it wasn't all doom and gloom. This thread was made in bad faith and OP can drink bleach.
We can salvage the thread, fav Rayman?
Ah yes, who could forget that beautiful and empowering scene where the pirate king eats a lum right after the fairy tells you the world needs 1000 lums or it's doomed forever.
You're clearly meant to believe you're going to finally free the Lum from Razorbeard's insides after the final battle, the fact you find it in a hidden cave and it doesn't even restore the counter back to x/1000 in most versions being a bit of a weird inconsistency.

The darker atmospheres of the Rayman games are to contrast Rayman himself who has always been a laidback, goofy, and cheerful optimist and also contrast what his world is before the villains show up which is usually very colorful and dream-like. This is what the Netflix show and even the Raving Rabbids games missed. He would fight for what he believes in, but wouldn't break to the point of becoming a trench coat wearing, mass shooter spouting f-bombs every minute.
Remember how Rabbids 1 ended with Rayman getting stuck in a hole when trying to save Globox's kids, and then they just never show up in any game again after he fails? And then by TV Party he's a washed up and depressed butthole who doesn't do anything but run from them.
So I'm noticing a certain increase in uncompromising threads about Rayman. Is it just a coincidence?
It could be, but it's worth remembering that the increase in uncompromising threads about Lara Croft, especially the classic Lara from the first three games, was followed by an announcement of the remake of the first three games, and then the threads started to disappear, apparently.
So I guess we'll be hearing about a Rayman game, maybe even a remaster, in the next few weeks.
Oh, I didn't know about the show.
But since the guys are discovering that doing a show on Netflix serves as marketing for games, maybe we'll see a remake of Rayman 3D for Switch or some shit.
If you think that's gloomy and oppressive then you should check out Rayman in the new Netflix show

Compared to the first game, they were insanely edgy

I remember really liking this game. They never made another like it too.
>Rayman is gloomy/grim/oppressive
I fricking hate you first world gays so god damn much.
Rayman 2 probably has the darkest color palette out of every platformer I played. It certainly isn't cheerful most of the time.

Not the baiter but i do like how you find it in the graveyard level because he ate it, thats a clever touch
That lum died and that's why it's in the Tomb of the Ancients.

rayman 2 scared the shit out of me as a kid
The chase or the spider?

So, Sonic Satam?

I liked it, made it unique.
Similar reason to why I like Medievil so much, even though that one had some humor too.
It made beating it kino
It's called kino.

Nah it's just because of the fact he's in that new netflix show.
