Okay, I don't care? Why are things not stolen? Why aren't 24-hour shops with no cashiers being stolen from? I was there multiple times for various lenghts and none of my stuff got stolen (granted I was never in the worse areas like Kabukicho as mentioned). I'm not just a single isolated point of refenece. I have friends who lived in Tokyo for 10 years now. They are theft free even if they leave their stuff pretty much unattended. Umbrellas don't count, it's a cultural thing.
I don't care how they achieve zero theft in the areas I am, I care about the fact that none of my stuff is at risk of getting stolen.

FF7 remake sold around 7 million. All of these are AAA japanese games being really successful in the last 10 years.
