Based on the cutscene before you battle it, it seems like it minds it own business as it only attacked because Perrin’s flash irritated it. Ogerpon took on 3 (to the villagers) Pokémon on its own and supposedly killed them.
Never bothered anyone lol we literally caught all their folktale/legendary pokemon they have nothing to be scared of now

None of those things are exclusive to legendary Pokemon.

There's no reason to believe any of the Hisui mons are extinct.
I really have no idea where the headcanon that they are extinct even came from, there's even still cope that they are and things like Perrins Growlithe is a special case when nothing indicates it

The starters themselves aren't native to Hisui they were brought by Laventon and/or show up in timespace distortions.
Sneasel and Weavile travelled through the past through time/space distortions and completely wiped out Hisui/Sinnoh’s Sneasel and Sneasler population

No, Sneasel and Weavile already exist in outside of Hisui, the PLA dex entries confirms it.
It's not clear which variety came first.
But they are the reason fighting/poison sneasel and Sneasler aren’t around in Sinnoh anymore.
Honestly cant believe i once argued with some stupid homosexual on here who sperg'd up and down that the hisui mons weren't going to be in modern timeline games and how they would be impossible to justify.
