free movement is soulless. this is why everything is turning shit btw, limitations breed creativity but now all tech is too good
>why were these the last decent pokemon games?
Bro, what is this mess? A lot of this info is completely backwards, and several issues that stem from Gen V are attributed to VI instead. You need proofread this shit before you post it.
What are you talking about? It’s completely accurate.
Its a joke image, one of /vp/'s regular shitposters made it because he was butthurt about gen 6 being shat on.
>Its a joke image
Oh…so game freak actually wasn’t moronic enough to make difficulty modes that don’t actually work and cut basic features like berry farming? thank god
Couldn't you just buy every relevant berry in black/white?
I never used the online thing and never had an issue of that sort.
Yes, especially in Bw2 which had join avenue which is still completely functional unlike the PSS features.
No. There is difficulty setting in B/W after beating the game or something like that. What he meant is that the info is inaccurate between the shown titles for shit posting reasons..
Gamefreak unironically better at making 2D games.
They probably should have done something like using Vectors and billboard sprites.
PLA was good and I actually thought BDSP was decent but yeah. 3D was the downfall of pokemon. Ironic cause the Gamecube games were peak.
BDSP was decent for the first four gyms until your pokemon started getting the bullshit friendship boosts that made every battle TRIVIALLY easy and gave you the annoying as frick GENGAR IS WAITING FOR YOUR COMMAND like no shit they are
>I-IT’S TRIVIALLY EASY!!
wait…you guys thought the other games weren’t already that?
What do you mean "you guys"?
>why were these the last decent pokemon games?
Because you weren't handheld every five goddamn minutes.
I enjoyed Sun/Moon, but I never finished the end-game after beating the Elite 4 because there was too much exposition for shit that someone playing since RBGY already knew.
> Because you weren't handheld every five goddamn minutes
bw2 literally has the most egregious level of handholding in the whole series
gen 7 had handholding but at least the bosses actually had a semblance of challenge to them unlike gen 5
>bw2 literally has the most egregious level of handholding in the whole series
I never played it because bw1 were so fricking bad they basically killed Pokemon for me, but I assume they did the same thing in bw2 where they insisted on unskippable story scenes every 10 steps and prevented you from doing anything until you had gone through the approved rail road track?
It didn't help that the story they were so proud of was garbage.
>bw2 literally has the most egregious level of handholding in the whole series
Except platinum, BW, XY, oras, SM, USM and SS had far more handholding compared to bw2 which basically set you off on your own after virbank.
>but at least the bosses actually had a semblance of challenge to them unlike gen 5
To call gen 7 challenging when it was the easiest game in the series is hilarious.
The closest thing to a challenge that the gen had was Ultra Necrozma, not because it was difficult but because they had given Necrozma a 10 level bump with no encounters between it and the last boss which was dusk/dawn Necrozma if I remember right. The AI was absurdly shit and didn't know what to do if you had a Muk.
> BW, XY, oras, SM, USM and SS had far more handholding compared to bw2
which one of those games had a forced movie making tutorial shoved into it again?
> The closest thing to a challenge that the gen had was Ultra Necrozma
as opposed to gen 5 which has uhhhhhh
>compared to bw2
>which one of those games had a forced movie making tutorial shoved into it again?
ORAS with contests and secret bases and SM with the Battle Royal.
The only difference is that the movies were good.
>as opposed to gen 5 which has uhhhhhh
The point is that none of them are challenging.
Hey I get an excuse to post this.
Gen 5 is probably the best for me too.
The sprite animations are far more charming and soulful than the boring 3D models in Gen 6+.
Man, gen 5 designs are so unoriginal and awful
gen 1*
Yeah they tried to make a new 151 with black and white and made a bunch of Chinese knockoffs of gen 1 mons.
HAXORUS THE GOAT! BEST PSEUD? BEST PSEUD!
Haxorus isn't a pseudo legendary.
I love gen 5. I fricking hate the Dream world, and the hidden abilities fricking up competitive play.
Depends on what makes a game decent to you. Mechanically it is decent. Design of the pokemon, overworld and graphics are all trash. The last decent game was platinum, DP don't make the cut. Gen 4 had plenty of shitmons and needed HM slaves, but overall it was decent.
I think I got bored of mainline pokemon games with gen 3. Shit was just way too easy. Romhacks brought me back to the series though, but that was a ~decade after gen 3.
I didn’t mind X and Y or Omega Rugy and Alpha Saphire, but the games after that are irredeemable garbage. The white and black games are still better. 2D pixel art will always be better
Wild Area and Open World with empty cities killed Pokemon. It's not fun to explore everything anymore. Even the stores are JPGs now.
They stopped trying.
>why were these the last decent pokemon games?
Gen7 had one of the best story in the series and feelings also made probably the best porn of the series. Provided really good challenge, great ost and some fun legendaries. They even added multi battles where you can battle WITH npc‘s like gym leaders.
What time line is this I remember everyone hating Black and White.
