why wouldn't they drop even the slightest piece of info about this game? please, I'm starved, this is my favourite RTS ever, give me a screenshot at least or a god portrait, it's been 10 fricking months

Because the dev team for the remake is probably underfunded and the result will be shit, as usual.
They fricked up the Chinese, I don't see them fricking up this.
Forgotten Empires is doing the remake and considering how well they handelled Aoe2 and 3 i have hope for it. They e en said they are redoing China.
FE worked on all the remasters, and the first one sucked. So did 3. 2 is only good because it's an AoE2 remaster.
and how does 1 and 3 suck exactly, they're fine
>inb4 new bad old good, muh revisionism
It's hard to deny that 1 is somewhat lame, I'd call it a prototype for the DE series. 3 I agree, they did great work remastering and continuously expanding the game. I have a good feeling about Retold.
not being a contrarian here, but AOE1 DE sucked hard at being a remake
>major performance issues(as if the higher requirement doesnt already deter most of the playerbase to buy this game)
>most of it were just a reskin of a game(aside walkable farms(that change the meta) and hotkeys, very few QOL changes compared to AOE2 DE)
most complain directed towards AOE3 DE are mostly centered around the devs decision to be more "PC", and in my experience, the shift-queue tasking in AOE3 DE is atrocious
The remaster for the first game didn't even fix the pathfinding issues, it feels equally as shit to play. There's a reason why it flopped.
I didn't mind the China campaign, even if it felt rough around the edges. It could have been much better but a new AoM campaign was too exciting for me to care that the whole thing felt like a half-assed mod
The interview where the devs said they weren't removing any content made me not care anymore. Normally I wouldn't want content to get removed in a remaster but AoM:EE is so fricking shit it would be better if you removed things, like the shitty new units that destroyed the faction asymmetry.
They're in a damned if they do damned if they don't situation. If they remove people will complain, if they keep people will complain. The best hope is they rebalance things.
Zeus is being portrayed as a transwoman PoC. Mythology isn't real so this shouldn't be an issue for the chuds as we are just telling the story in a way that is relatable to a modern audience.
think they'll rework china?
and fix the nightmare of a campaign?
they'll have to
fans literally won't buy with China untouched
We know the developers are doing that because they said so, they mentioned reworks. We just don't know if it's going to be meaningful because they didn't mention anything other than "we're doing that".
I'd prefer to have the chinese be completely replaced by the Japanese. Much more interesting mythology.
Yes I'm a weeb.
I personally can't think of a mythos more boring than Japan.
>I personally can't think of a mythos more boring than Japan.
I can, the "atlanteans"
That's just Greece, where the devs decided to do something stupid and make another Greek faction.
oh yes that'd be for sure the right marketing move
Because it's probably delayed while they're trying to figure out what to do with the Chinese.
I like how this was seen as a spin-off with weird new ideas, and then AoE3 came along, took virtually every mechanic from AoM and made things a whole lot crazier, especially in DE. I wonder if they'll keep things as is, or go completely nuts.
I really wanted batch training back, it was the best mechanic from AoE3 that they just fricking ignored on AoE4.
Game felt like it was made for batch training.
Athena was a black man.
