Millennials grew up facing the PC and reasonable local co-op. Online competition is insane, and even beginner's lobbies are filled with smurfing. I'll give Zoomers credit on one thing, if they know they don't stand a chance, they don't try.
Because boomers grew up at a time when fighting games were actually fun, since you were playing them in actual arcades while seeing your opponent in person and potentially making friendships. Then people were playing them with friends on consoles, so it was still a good time.
But now fighting games are an exercise in playing with anonynous sweaty neckbeards who know all the tricks because they've been nolifing fighting games for decades and will just rush you down from the moment the match starts and throw out crazy combos so you have 0 chance of actually playing, then they'll tell you to "just practice"

whenever i see posts like this whinging about "nolife tryhard sweaties ruining my games" i just picture a bald man in his 40s with a punisher skull tshirt and a greasy goatee dying on some CS server over and over and complaining about hackers. also a TOOL poster in the background.
>muh zoomers
Have you considered that people just get bored of certain genres after a while? Every genre has its heyday. They stopped making WW2 shooters around late 00's because people got tired of them. Same with fighters, RTS games etc.
Only a tiny minority of retards cares about games having morons in them. Most people don't get angry about it or think of it as a net positive, they're simply neutral.
There's too many insane psychos no-lifing in FG
"oh Ima go play a casual match" >Encounter veterans with 200+ hours having the time of their lives destroying casuals
"Ok let's try Ranked mode then that's probably where I go to have f-" >Flowchart tryhard who's sinking 8+ hours a day to rank up after watching dozens of tutorials
>you haveeeeeee to sink your life away into this videogame to have A CHANCE AGAINST ME YOU CASUL GO INTO TRAINING MODE FOR ANOTHER 40 HOURS, PRACTICE COMBOS FOR AN EXTRA 20, LEARN THE FRAME DATA, LEARN THE OPTIMA-
I'm cool senpai, there are other things to play out there. You win.
you don't have to do any of that shit if you're a beginner or even an intermediate honestly
I spend no more than 5 minutes in training mode when I try out a new game just to get a feel for the game and character, obviously I have an idea of what to look for and you don't, so just go out there and mash buttons
Because it takes too long to even learn the inputs and combos and shit and whatever the fuck frame data is suppposed to mean. You're basically learning an instrument. Learning to play guitar takes the same amount of time but is 1000x more rewarding. Sorry boomboom.
Why ESL unable to write question?

Zoomers don’t like the idea of having only themself to blame when they suck ass
They need teammates to blame instead
how do you mean? I got my favorite right here
for clarification I was born in 1997 and my dad bought me this when I was eight.
>redditfrog
go back
bump
High time commitment in a world where it seems like free time itself is becoming a rarity
zoomers thought that the DP input was impossible to do when they added ryu to smash
because they don’t have tenkaichi
Controllers are too expensive for them because they have no money.
I wish they did, FGs are absolutely infested with zoomers
>muh zoomers
