why do you think they're making another Dogma? nobody played that
anon...
Ganker aren't main audience
Ganker aren't presentation of gamers
Why have you come here?
Beautiful pic
You are obsessed. Seek out pills.
It would be realistic lorewise, also funny
>Literal moron
pray
white people are straight up obsessed with us lmfao
You're irrelevant Black person, stay jealous
>Replying to a post that's five hours old
You're not making a good case for yourself here
>treating imageboards like an im service
Black folk everybody
Nah, he's right. Whether it's coming from dick-suckers or racists, you literally can't go one fricking day without at least half of the catalog having something related to them in it. You homosexuals truly are obsessed.
Talk about Dragon's Dogma or leave you stupid homosexuals
By us I assume you mean "White upper class Leftist twit who majored in Gender Studies and insists everyone is a racist just like them, and pretends to be a different gender to feel special unique," because that is who is being obsessed over, not the object of said snowflake's fetishization.
I doubt there'll be those strings anymore.
I would unironically play that game.
Now somebody post the gif where it zooms in on the Arisen with blackface in the intro.
I have finally started to get competent at making Death frick off without taking my pawns. That is all.
>pawn consistently dodges and actually fights it
Put your pawn against living armour and watch a kino fight.
I just hope they won't turn Dragon's Dogma 2 into Dark Souls 9.
>AW HELL NAW I KNOW U AINT WALK UP IN HER SONNN
>YALL WANTED TO LIVE YALL SHOULDA RAAANNN AWAY LIKE A LIL b***hASS WHITEBOI U ARE MMHMM
>SUMMA YALL BE ALL UP IN MY BIDNISS ALL WELCOMIN LIKE
>BUT SUUUUMM homieS COME UP IN HERE PACKIN HEAT NAHMEAN?
>I KNOW I AINT GONNA REPEAT MYSELF 'RISEN SO TELL ME WHATCHU REEEAALLY DOIN HERE HMMM???
Damn, i kinda want this as a joke
Also snapping her claws n going "mmmmhnm"
And then a laughtrack plays.
What's up with all the pawn shilling lately? If it's only about Anons wanting to exchange pawns with each other, then it's really cool, but if it's about the rift crystals, then C'MON, it's already very easy to get more crystals than to know what to do with.
You only really need RC for BBI gear and BBI showers you in RC anyway
>What's up with all the pawn shilling lately?
What else are people gonna do if they're actually playing the game? Get bent.
>he thinks the moon landing was real
it's more believable than africa still being full of literal 50iq savages in 2022 yet here we are
Only if Itsuno thinks it would be funny
Everyone knows to farm daimon to get lv 3 armor/weapons but what about lv1? I specifically want the lv1 yellow legwear. Had more than 20 from playing BBI a lot, set myself and my pawn to yellow and got jack shit.
check the wiki to see which chests have level 1 armors in their loot pool and warm up that Godsbane
you can always do the hardmode reset to set BBI back to pre-Daimon if need be
Pre daimon doesn't have any lv3 drops? So best choice would be, start a new game, do all of bii except never fight daimon and just use a liftstone, sleep a couple days and everything resets? Or does stuff only respawn if you defeat him once?
Stuff will respond but you're most likely to get level 1 drops in pre-Daimon BBI. I could be wrong though so I'd check the wiki and see what the loot pools say
https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Bitterblack_Armor_Lv.1
*respawn
lmao jfc
Farming lv1 seems like way more of a hassle. I just want the mercenary slogs.
goddamn bbi gear is ugleh
if you do lots of runs of BBI you'll get lots of drops organically but that would presumably take longer than actively narrowing your farming to the drops you want specifically
>tfw pawn is finally unbanned
A lot of people picked the game up after dd2 confirmation huh? Strider pawn getting hired at low-level seemed impossible to me
>>tfw pawn is finally unbanned
Wot?
I don't know man
Kisses, skullsplitter and implicate seem to be the best dagger skills for a pawn, don't know about bows though, still checking out all the skills
damn. QT pawn except for 80s swimsuit shite
I will give her a better fit soon, just gotta assemble the parts. Matching colors is hard in this game. I actually like the swimsuit style, not the colors though
one of my wishes for DD2 is dyes
Yeah, it would be nice if they would allow us to dye our gear, but even having a couple of reskins for every piece of clothing will go a long way
That or a respec/transmog system would definitely help prevent 80% of the pawns for looking almost exactly like each other
Can't find her, what level is she when you last rested?
The image is immediately after last rest today. There's probably like a million lvl 27 female strider pawns on steam
I also can't find her. It only shows 2 female striders at lvl 27 actually. Is there region lock or sth?
You have to keep researching level 27s for the list to refresh
I just realized that after posting lmao. I'll give it a couple tries.
Found her now. Didn't take that long actually.
Finally found her after a billion searches and another Cass falseflag lol
Thanks bros, hope you like her
are there any skills/affinities that a strider needs to get hired? or is my pawn just ugly?
pls hire
Anon... I...
She's not that ugly... right?
Hundred kisses
Shearing wind
Dazzle blast
Fivefold flurry
Pentad shot
Mighty bend
Drop razzle dazzle, put skull splitter instead of shearing wind. Of bows only have 5fold furry.
And make sure she gets augments that encourage climbing enemies and using skills.
I'd drop hundred kisses before shearing wind, at least the latter will give you a quick dash attack to catch up to moving targets while kisses is pretty much obsolete in the presence of splitter
pentad shot is less that useless, especially on a pawn drop it asap
>she
Show skills
Frick, shes clapped
clapped?
BRAIN SPLITTER
INSTANT RESET
HAILSTORM VOLLEY
ANYTHING MORE THAN THESE SKILLS ARE OMEGA TROLL AND BAD AND SHIT AND WOULD JUST LOWER THE CHANCES OF THE STRIDER PAWN USING THE GOOD SKILLS
i put leaping stone in my pawn
Hailstorm is ass. Fracture dart is on par with splitter damage, that's how broken it is.
YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO GIVE THEM BLAST ARROWS, PAWNS WILL USE THEM PRETTY OFTEN, HAILSTORM LAUNCHES 24 BLAST ARROWS
I GUESS IF YOU ARE POOR YOU CAN USE FRACTURE DART, IT'S GOOD.
Yeah, I don't cheat items and weight limits like you. Blast arrows are heavy and will be expended in a single room. My team and I will be going the whole way through the dungeon.
LEVEL 200 PAWNS WITH WEIGHT BOOTS AND SINEW CAN CARRY AT LEAST 250~ BLAST ARROWS WHILE REMAINING ON LIGHT LOAD.
THEY WILL GENERALLY ONLY USE THEM ON BOSS-TYPE ENEMIES, WON'T BE WASTED ON DUNGEON TRASH, MEANING YOU CAN DOWN 9 BOSSES WITH THEM PER RUN.
THE REST OF YOUR PAWNS CAN ALSO CARRY BLAST ARROWS EVEN IF THEY DON'T USE THEM AND THEN YOU CAN GIVE THEM TO YOURSELF OR YOUR PAWN IN THE MIDDLE OF COMBAT, EVEN.
I USUALLY HAVE ABOUT 700 ARROWS SPREAD ACROSS MY PARTY AT ALL TIMES WHILE I AM AT VERY LIGHT LOAD FOR MYSELF.
WHY ARE YOU YELLING
i didn't even notice. my bad bro.
I AM JUST REALLY EXCITED ABOUT DD2
And where do you get those blast arrows from when nobody sells them or the ingredients to combine them? I'm not a cheater like you, simple as.
bruh
The lady next to the masterworks guy sells them.
i dunno why i am helping you when you're accusing me of cheating, which is a low blow, but theere's infinite blast arrows at camellia's after the come to court quest, and aestella's also sells infinite ones after you beat the story once. persists through ng+ cycles.
Jacklyn/Jackie. Steam.
Retrained her inclinations to Scather and Util and switched her back to Fighter with my DF Dogma.
She's also buff now.
that's a brine if I saw one
>bbi with a mage pawn
>get maneater'd
>just casts anodyne repeatedly
"Anytime"
Looks like all three of them are shit.
Green is my favorite color.
>didn't make a goblin
You're not convincing me Anon
Don't make me dye her neon green.
Because I'll do it.
You wouldn't
DON'T TEST ME ANON
Turns out I can't afford Lime Green Pigment yet.
But she's still regular green.
And has a Himecut.
And now has an Arrogant voice because I forget to set it too that before.
I thought this was a 0.2 second clip that someone looped, but no he really does wail on her like that
It's actually slowed down, in-game he goes so fast it seems he's not moving.
Green is not a creative color
Green iz da best color you git!
Don't loot suspicious chests in the middle of a fight then dumbass.
My own pawn opened an adjacent chest before rescuing me from that thing lol
Dolla dolla bills ya'll
Use the Help command
>I'm the Joker, baby!
>all it takes is one bad pawn...
In all realness i dont like it, possibly the green hair.
She's a dark green goblin with black hair now.
I left the glasses on though.
>She's a dark green goblin with black hair now
Oh yeah, you get to fully remake you and your pawn at your second cycle right? Strangely i cant see that anymore now that im in the post game on my second cycle, but i guess if i cycle around again i will achieve it.
If you go to the Encampment you can talk to Johnathan in the tent and by the Secret of Metamorphasis for 10,000 RC.
Lets you edit your characters at the title screen whenever you want.
Why has not any vtuber played this, how can I know if it's even good.

>Will Capcom turn the dragon into sassy brown woman in Dragon's Dogma 2 in order to appeal to the western market?
No, he'll be turned into a cute e-girl to appeal to the Japanese market!
I have been waiting for this pic. I hope you finish it soon.
>the best a Black person can do is bottom of the barrel trash
>he considers this a flex
Technically speaking, in the lore Grigori is also a sassy black woman. And giant black man, and small e-girl, and a towering redhead amazoness, a Spanish knight, a white male and so on.
Draconic Captain Planet?
I figured out why I'm not enjoying Mystic Knight
It has no fricking taunt
Now that you mention it it is kind of weird that the one class with the most counters can’t draw enemy attention for shit.
Ahh hellll nawl! You best be abandonin' dems eloojhuns ah contrawl white boy! Mmmhm
*snaps fingers*
*shifts head to left to right repeatedly*
Post PS4 pawns, will gift bbi weapon lvl 2 after I'm done with them
So, what are the ~~*official*~~ reasons blacks didn't progress at the same rate as whites?
climate, agriculture conditions, and corruption
what the other anon said plus no large arms races with eachother for technological/financial/scientific/dynastic/diplomatic/theological control
>plus no large arms races with eachother
Is this homie for real.
You thought the whole IQ thing was a joke?
~~*Officially*~~ evil whites came and ruined all the chances African blacks have by showing them slavery is profitable. Yes, despite the fact they already were enslaving their own race and that they sold their own slaves to whites.
There is a reason why in school your history book usually starts at when agriculture started becoming a thing and how it radically effected societal development. Now, what could they barely or couldn't do in places like Africa and Australia?
>Now, what could they barely or couldn't do in places like Africa and Australia?
Africa, so well known for its poor climate for agriculture that China has been investing billions so they can import food.
Whitey got lucky with geography and muh beasts of burdern and used that to keep a homie down.
Colonization
>inb4 what about all those years before the colonization boom
Shhh
>blacks didn't progress at the same rate as whites?
No idea, probably something to do with farming. Our relationship with cows gave us important furs and food for example.
Just fricking look at them. Case closed.
I don't know, will you turn your life into a non-disappointment in order to appeal to your long suffering parents?
>helping Madeline set up her shop
>clearing out the Quarry and expanding it by buying the Promissory Notes
>using Vile Eyes to petrify other monsters
>riding Harpies to higher locations
>seeing the wieneratrice that attacks Gran Soren dead by the side of the road
>pawns catching you from large falls
>unique dragonkin in postgame
>cursed carvings around the Abbey
>Gran Soren guards are less in shape than the men at the Windbluff Tower because the latter see more action and fight stronger monsters
So many things that just make this game special
gran soren soldiers actually are more active in the war than the windbluff ones, they fight various monsters
Enlistment Corps unironically is the strongest military force in gransys (minus the commander, lmao)
>minus the commander
🙁
What are you talking about, she's the greatest of all time
>unique dragonkin in postgame
This was crazy to me, i didnt notice this in the first cycle. The scared wyvern was cool, so was the barbarian drake... But the english speaking wyrm surprised me greatly. I thought they were speaking dragon language, not the language from their time.
The luck bonus you get from collecting a tear from each dragonkin is great too
>The luck bonus you get from collecting a tear from each dragonkin is great too
Oh yeah, ive still got to collect a wyrm tear, but for some reason overworld wyrms are so rare, theres only one in the everfall and the special one at the watergods temple that i know of.
If you are on Steam I can gift you one
If he's on PC he can simply add one to his inventory
>t.
Don't be embarrassed that you don't know how
>If you are on Steam I can gift you one
That would be nice, do i just post my pawn and get it back? If so then try searching for abby, a female level 162 strider. It might not work because as an intimidated newbie i modded all stat growths to be equal because i wanted to play all classes without worrying about stat growths. I didnt know it wasnt that significant.
What wyrm did you end up getting the tear from btw? Ive only gotten tears from normal dragons and never from the BBI dragons.
>he fell for the minmax meme
You don't need to worry about the damn stat growths for good damage.
>You don't need to worry about the damn stat growths for good damage.
Yeah, i fell for it. We all make mistakes.
Yeah, it wont let me summon her at all, seems like you got softbanned
Can confirm I just tried it "corrupt pawn data has been omitted" or something like that. Maybe he has to start a new game with a new legit pawn for it to work.
I think you can just fix the stats to something that's actually possible for a pawn to have and it'll get unbanned.
>Collecting one of each tear (Drake's Tear, Wyrm's Tear, Wyvern's Tear) increases the chance to obtain Wakestones
If that is all the luck you get, how come I received the two tier 3 weapons I wanted on my first BBI run? Checkmate lucklet
it adds SOVL
i noticed on my latest playthrough that
when you attack the goblin fort and the king jumps out through the window and escapes through the tunnel in a cutscene you can (with enough hp and speed) dive out the window after him and kill him and then there'll be no cutscene
i was a bit sad when i realized it didn't actually have any effect on anything else that came after, but still neat.
Haha imagine if they made the dragon romanceable in DD2
don't see any others, so I guess this is the current Dragon's Dogma thread.
I tried the double Barbed Nails meme when fighting Death to check if I still need to cheese with Blast Arrows and Conquerror Periapts and it made no difference. Actually it was even worse. Last time I managed to stagger him and take almost 2 health bars with goldforged Revenant Wail and spamming Tenfold Flurry alone. With double Barbed Nails, he didn't even stagger
i just spam blast arrows at his head/chest and he usually goes down in two volleys. then i keep shooting him while he's down and can usually prevent him getting up for a while. Haven't done it in one go though.
I just wanted to check if it's necessary to use blast arrows at all, considering that I stunlocked him for some time with the bow alone a few minutes eariler. I manged to stunlock and kill him 2 times with blast arrows. last time needed 140 blast arrows and 4 periapts with the dragonforged BBI tier 3 longbow at lvl 136. probably much less at my first playthrough at PC launch, because I barely played anything since then, lost all coordination and addled my brain with booze
if there a mod that makes sprinting free, but only when out of combat?
I'm so tired of the dodge roll sound effect
dinput8.dll hooks
Anyone on Switch want to take out a virgin pawn, maybe get her a nice outfit?
They're going to give her a pearl necklace anon.
wait do pawn retain the equipment you give them when you send them back?
When they get the pawn back, a message appears asking if they want to revert back to the original equipment, if they press yes then the new equipment gets sent to storage.
wow I've never had someone give my pawn clothes before, good to know
I'll hire her, but it'll take some time to get you some good RC crystals.
>tfw level 200 on both Switch and PC
There's absolutely nothing you can do for me. I don't even sleep at inns or BBI's resting spots anymore because I know nobody is hiring either of my pawns since they reached this stage.
I regularly hire 200 pawns. Gotta search for 199 though. Also you have to meet my standards: magic vocations are only allowed level 1 spells and physical vocations are only allowed one or two skills slotted
I don't care if they get hired or not at this point. I've run a train on Daimon's figurative butthole more than enough times trying to get two pairs of sinners/hellfire greaves with a certain effect and wound up with every weapon and armor you could ever obtain from that mutant frick. Don't have to worry about rift crystals either after giving my pawn an augment that increases their drop rate so now every enemy in BBI shits them out giving me an endless supply.
>tfw level 200 on both Switch and PC
Yeah brother its unlucky, your level 200 pawns are infinitely more expensive and populated and fractionally more useful than pawns at my level (165 now i think). At least you are absolutely spoiled for choice when it comes to pawns.
>jested another pawn
>this time it wasn't even as a response to somebody putting my knight in a dress
Feste won.
I should do this to princess pawns
>Port to Gran Soren
>Fricking SIX princess pawns around my immediate vicinity
I've never wanted a source of deep water in Gran Soren as much as I did then
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Put on adhesion too. I took it off and it does matter for some enemies.
Do it pussy.
Welcome to the climbers' guild.
'Tis gougin' time, sers
I'm jelly, currently making a face-hugging magic archer
On my old save I have a strider band with stone/ splitter too, wish i could gift it to myself.
Do people tend to godsbane the entire daimon fight or just the boxes? Considering he can also drop weapons/armor. Also how does the respawn work? I did a couple of quick daimon runs where basically nothing would respawn for 5 runs. Now I did one whole BBI run and everything respawned immediately after going directly to daimon.
Just the boxes.
Just the boxes. You can also godsbane at a handful of chests along the way so that makes up for any shit drops Daimon himself gives you.
Does it though? According to the wiki on the shortcut way to daimon only two chests have weapons, in that case, one of which is very rare so no point in trying that one. If i godsbane multiple times for the other chest to get what I want it will be open until I go to gran soren sleep 3 times for it to be closed again.
resting at an inn 3 times is way less time spent than running through the last third of BBI and fighting Daimon again
you're also forgetting the lvl 3 armor on the side of the hut right in front of Daimon's front porch
Already have the armor I want so not much use anymore. Also talking about repeating the actual fight, which doesn't take that long with MA, to get his possible weapon drop and the chest weapon drop.
If you don't care about the time it takes to fight him then sure, do what you want, but most people just want to hit the chests at the end and checking the ones on the way doesn't take too much timsrktde
Ya'll boutta take up those motha FRICKIN' arms newly arisen
Dragons dogma? I thought it was called dragon's dogshit. Anyways I'm gonna go play Elden Ring.
So it's true you can't find level ∞ player pawns if you search for them, you will only find offline pawns. You have to search level 199 to find level ∞ player pawns.
So I'm playing the main story. Got to the tower where the heretic guys are and killed the 2 flying skeleton dudes. Dragon came, said hi then dipped.
After this, I went back into the castle to check for any treasure I missed. I go down the dungeon and suddenly I'm in the dragon's lair and it gives me the quest objective to kill him.
I tried to kill the mobs but they're all so damn strong, i'm obviously underlevelled.
Did i frick my save file or something? Or is the intended next step to go straight to the dragon and kill him. Feels like i fricked something up and I wasnt meant to enter the lair yet
plz help
you should be able to go back up and back to Gransys IIRC, but yeah, continuing through the Tainted Mountain is heading towards The Dragon
There is one other quest where you go see the old Arisen in the cave before entering the dragons lair, but since you just entered it I think that other quest failed but I don’t remember.
Can you walk back out? In any case you are on the right track.
You could have gone to the dragonforged but he doesn't give you anything that great, just basic anti-dragon tactics for your pawns (which I already had because I fought the drake in devilfire grove). Have fun with daddy Grigori
he enemies in that area are supposed to be an order of magnitude tougher than what you were normally fighting, it's a sign of things to come.
The black lizard's weak to ice.
>see mason
>aayy brudda
>gnome saiyan
>pick him up
>drag him over the city bridge
>drop him into the sewers
>next quest is seeking salvation
...
>go visit Quina, my love
>doing the quest to send her off
>fricking Mason is there
>"Heeey brotha I'ma gonna take dis fine piece of ass on a trip, don't worry man I'll keep er' safe"
I hope I forced Grigori to joink her back before I got cucked
>aiding my cuz at the monastery
>mason comes walking in
>oh boy here we go
>>"Heeey brotha I'ma gonna take dis fine piece of ass on a trip, don't worry man I'll keep er' safe"
>bruh
>try to pick him up
>he just flips around like an inflatable clown
>wtf
>unequip my weapon
>clock him right on the chin
>fricking everyone panics
>they start running away with
>chase them down
>mason opens up a black hole
>his black hole
>they all disappear one by one into the void
I have never seen such a thing in DD.
Mason would never do this. We're bros.
even if you think he would (he's not actually evil, just an autistic spy) he's known to too many people. you can show the flowers from quina to the head gransys priest. Mason would his keep his job or even his life very long after a stunt like that.
>Mason would his keep
wouldn't keep his*
He's just pulling your leg, come on. He never did me wrong.
The thing that hurts the most about betrayal, it's that I never comes from your enemies
>female pawn names
>Main b***h
>bawd I
>Casca
>Triss/Yennefer
I've seen a ton of Casca, Guts, Triss, Yennefer, and Geralt pawns. And Shrek of course.
Seen FCKABLECHILD today. At some point gays probably need to stop.
>summon morrigan, triss, or yennefer pawns
>look nothing like their namesake
>meanwhile summon a male pawn with a namesake
>near match
I've found Frodo, Pippin, Gimli, Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear, Guy Fieri, Fezzik from the Princess Bride and a ton of Geralts.
>find out Exequy can kill Golems
>Sounds great, better than wacking it for no damage at a time
>Try it
>Succeed
>After 20 beast-steaks and 3 sour ambrosial meats
Back to whacking it then
and bolide/gicel spam of course
Liquid vim?
Didn't think about that, I'll have to see if that works
Just looked it up, Liquid Vim lasts 45 seconds and Golems take 2m30s to Exequy, so it's something but probably not the most cost-effective option.
You could grab the ranger augment that boost healing items maybe? May save you a couple consumables. Are there any party wide stamina items you could load onto pawns?
>only weapon I'm missing from BBI level 3 is Devil's Nail now
Olra have mercy you drained all my RC
OP is a obsessed schozo
Question.
Whats the closest armor I can get to the Dung Eaters armor?
I wanna make my next pawn him, an ugly bastard amongst e-girls.
i dont think there are any "fat suit" armors
you just have to make your pawn really fat
I meant like gross grimy rusty looking armor.
I don't think there's anything like that in the game, BUT if you make a really fat character you can mix something close
Welp, I have all the yellow and red lv.3 weapons. Don't care for the blue ones, I have played enough Sorcerer. Ranger/Assassin/Mystik Knight are the only ones that aren't fully leveled. What to play?
Ranger is extremely satisfying. Timing Deathly Arrow / Reaper's Arrow just right is pure sex.
Fresh meat
THEY'RE VUNERABLE AFTER A MASSIVE STRIKE!
Why do pawns lie here? Fighter bandits spam heavy attacks with no window for counterattack
You're the one who must deal a massive strike
So long as I can adventure with my goblin e-girl wife i'll be happy
idk why people absolutely hate dd so much. I can't imagine playing the game and not thinking about how much raw untapped potential there is with it. I guess I just appreciate what the devs really tried to deliver
I think this game is overrated because it's one of those games that's "so bad it's good". It's not a terrible game, but it's not a great game either. It's just an average game that people like because it's so different from other games.
Do you know what bad or good mean?
Bad means something that is not good. Good means something that is positive or desirable.
>it's so different from other games.
That's what made it special I guess? It was different and also
. Besides DD there weren't that many modern options. AC, Skyrim, MonHun, Dark Souls, lol Fable I guess? Those devs already had consistent experience making those games so it's easy to see why they continued to be popular. At the time it was fresh in an era where devs were churning out sequels to popular action rpg games left and right while weird niche ones like DD and say, dark messiah or amalur only had one release or even games that never made it out of dev hell like deep down and later scalebound.
I wouldn't call Dragon's Dogma "special" in the sense that it stands out from the crowd for its story or characters. It's a fairly generic fantasy adventure tale by the numbers, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I've always been a fan of the "standard" fantasy adventures, and while Dragon's Dogma doesn't do anything particularly innovative or interesting with the genre, it still delivers a solid and enjoyable experience.
The story follows the traditional "chosen one" archetype, with you taking on the role of the Arisen, a warrior chosen by the dragon Grigori to save the world from destruction. The story is serviceable and will keep you engaged for the 20-30 hours it takes to complete the main quest, but it's nothing you haven't seen before.
The characters are also fairly standard fare, but again, that's not necessarily a bad thing. There's the tough-as-nails warrior, the wise-cracking rogue, the stoic mage, etc. They're all archetypes that you're familiar with, but they're still likable and well-written.
The world of Dragon's Dogma is also fairly generic, but it's still a fun place to explore. There's a good variety of locations to visit, from the bustling city of Gran Soren to the snowy mountains of the north. The world is also littered with monsters and beasts to fight, which keeps the combat fresh and exciting.
Overall, Dragon's Dogma is a solid and enjoyable game that doesn't do anything particularly special, but still manages to be a lot of fun. If you're a fan of the traditional fantasy adventure, then you'll definitely enjoy Dragon's Dogma.
I still appreciate that you are chosen for taking action, not because of destiny blood rights or some other bullshit.
You feel that way, here's why you're wrong.
The world is broken. It doesn't work. It's not fair. People are dying, and it's not fair.
You have the power to make it better. You have the power to save people. You have the power to make a difference.
You are chosen because you can make a difference. You are chosen because you are special. You are chosen because you have the power to change the world.
You are not chosen because you are perfect. You are not chosen because you are the best. You are not chosen because you are the only one who can do this.
You are chosen because you are willing to try. You are chosen because you are brave. You are chosen because you care.
You are chosen because you are human.
>There's the tough-as-nails warrior, the wise-cracking rogue, the stoic mage, etc. They're all archetypes that you're familiar with, but they're still likable and well-written
The frick? Where did you meet these people? I never over 2000 hours in the game and have no idea who you're talking about.
This is why I play solo. I think I've gotten a few random friends requests from people who I've played with and they were decent enough, but other than that I've avoided the community like the plague. I've played with plenty of randoms and I'm always surprised at what kind of people I run into. I'll be playing with some nice people and then there will be a complete idiot who just ruins the game for everyone. It's a mixed bag.
How many posts in this thread are randomly generated???
I think it only started with
.
No. It's just an informative post. Only a moron would think anything I said was randomly generated. How does that even make any fricking sense? if it was randomly generated, my post would even be words. It'd be gibberish. Cope and seethe and dilate, troony.
It appears to be a generic fantasy story, and plays out like one for a lot of the game, sure. Once you know the reveal at the end it's anything but generic.
For the most part, the game is very well designed, and I had little to complain about. There are a few things that I thought could be improved upon, and I'll mention them here.
The first is the combat. I don't have anything specific, but it just didn't feel great. The characters are all very unique in how they fight, which is great, and I love that the game makes you think about how you want to build your characters, but it just didn't come together for me. I didn't feel like I was engaging in combat, it felt like I was punching numbers into a calculator and watching the results.
The second is the game's pacing. The game is very slow at the beginning, and it takes a while to get going. Once you do, the game is very fast paced, and it's hard to keep up. I think the game could have used a little more pacing, and a little less filler.
Lastly, I think the game's difficulty is a little too easy. I never felt challenged, and I was able to breeze through most of the game without much trouble. I think the game could have used a little more difficulty, especially in the late game
>it stands out from the crowd for its story or characters
Admittedly the presentation isn't really that interesting. Is the setting and story generic? Yeah I suppose so, but at the same time you're never going to find another game that plays quite like DD which makes it unique in itself. The only thing that can replace that sentiment is a sequel which is why fans are so excited. Everquest and Elden Scrolls started out pretty generic story wise, so did Souls games and Witcher. Hell even Berserk started out generic as hell and if it never progressed past the Black Swordsman arc it would probably be regarded as a complete meme. I don't understand why it's really a bad thing to be generic in a first entry for a series. The gameplay alone is enough to say it isn't generic since it's fun and has tons of potential for improvements
For example, the game doesn't really play that well in multiplayer. It's fun, but there's no reason for me to play it in multiplayer over the other games I play with friends. It's also really lacking in customization. I mean there's customization, but it's not really as in depth as it could be.
It's also really lacking in equipment variety. Right now there isn't a ton of equipment, but the fact that it's not visually different from other equipment makes it hard to want to grind for upgrades. Again, it's mainly a problem with customization. If I can make each piece of equipment look unique then I'll be more inclined to grind for upgrades.
I can't help but think that the people who are against this game are just that, people who are against this game. I mean people are against it because it's generic, but they think it's generic because they're against it. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. The game isn't generic and people who claim it is are just looking to find fault in an otherwise amazing game. It's also not that big of a deal to be generic. Just look at how many generic games are considered classics. Just because a game is generic doesn't mean it's bad.
I think the people who are against this game aren't really against it because it's generic, but because they don't like the characters. They're just looking for any reason to complain. I can understand that. I mean I don't really like the characters either, but that doesn't make the game bad. There's plenty of games that I don't like the characters, but still enjoy the gameplay and setting.
I think the people who are against this game are just really against anything that's popular. They're just looking for anything to complain about. I can understand that. I mean I don't really like anything that's popular, but that doesn't make the things that are popular bad. There's plenty of things that I don't like that are popular, but still enjoy the gameplay and setting.
Take your meds loser
Oh, because I'm right, that means I must be insane. Whatever dumbass opinion you have, you're wrong. Dilate, troony.
Your post doesn't even make any sense. Just say you have no argument and hate video game discussion, then have a nice day Black person frickwad.
What in the actual frick are you talking about?
I'm talking about the fact that you're being a total fricking idiot right now.
Is this a fricking bot?
>Is this a fricking bot?
No, this is not a fricking bot.
It is literally the best, most addicting Action RPG I have ever played. The class and pawn system are genuinely brilliant. The world and music are enticing. Tons of care and attention to detail like more dangerous nights, pawns learning from your behavior, climbing monsters. Yeah it didn't "invent" anything except maybe the pawn system but frick off with your le bad and generic.
You are delusional.
Name ONE (1) better Action RPG. I'll wait.
The Witcher 3

Started up a new Warrior game. Give my dark elf pawn some love please. She's on Steam.
Have you rested yet?

What's the best goblin slaying armor and weapons and where can I find a lot of goblins to slay?
Grisly Skull helm
there are goblins everywhere
Don't worry, they'll find you.
>What's the best goblin slaying armor and weapons
any really
>and where can I find a lot of goblins to slay?
literally everywhere. especially at night. they're like rats.
GS is still gay tho.
> where can I find a lot of goblins to slay?
Just reload the Shadow Fort mission over and over again for the peak Goblin Slayer experience.
Not that anon but thank you
>brown dragon waifu
I'll take 10000 please
Any mods that add a giant katana?
I'm having a ton of fun with playing a Warrior Dwarf but i also require a weeb playthrough
how are they gonna explain dragons in the second game since we broke the cycle in the first game?
it will be a ur-dragon prequel
How do you mean? We didn't break it any more than Savan did.
i thought you broke it by killing yourself whereas savan took up the mantle of seneschal and waited for another arisen to take his place
I'm not sure how literal your character's death is. You'd think the world would end if there was no seneschal and yet clearly it doesn't. And your own character becomes the seneschal in ng+. Also, if seneschals could just kill themselves to end the cycle then you would think that would have happened at some point over the eternity preceding you. I think canonically we just replace Savan and the cycle keeps on going.
The world doesn't immediately die when there's no Seneschal, it stagnates and gradually wastes away without someone to keep it running. Basically you doom the world to a slow, inevitable death.
The first thing that happens is that all of the gods of the world are permanently banished from the world, as their power comes from the Seneschal. This means that there is no magic or miracles in the world any more.
The second thing that happens is that all of the plants and animals in the world begin to die off. This is because the Seneschal is responsible for keeping the balance of nature, and without them it begins to unravel.
The third thing that happens is that all of the people in the world begin to age rapidly. This is because the Seneschal is responsible for keeping the cycle of life and death in balance, and without them it begins to unravel.
The fourth thing that happens is that all of the buildings and structures in the world begin to crumble and fall apart. This is because the Seneschal is responsible for keeping the world in order, and without them it begins to unravel.
In short, the world slowly dies without a Seneschal to keep it running.
>umm actually it just unravels
Got anything of substance to say?
Imagine taking the time to write an extensive explanation about the topic of discussion in this thread, but the morons of Ganker assume you are the moronic one.
All he did was write "without the seneschal it unravels" over and over
>Imagine taking the time to write an extensive fanfic about the topic of discussion in this thread, but the morons of Ganker assume you are the moronic one.
fixed
Offline new game plus shows you are still there doing the makers work so nope.
The cycle was only broken in our own worlds, there are infinite others
oh yeah shit i forgot about the everfall stuff, they could do sequels and prequels and forever
Same way they did in DDO - it'll be a completely new world with similar rules and themes.
What was the plot of DDO anyway?
I think it will be a direct sequel to DD1. The plot twist is that you aren't fighting a dragon, you ARE the dragon that's been reverted to a human in order to suppress the gods of land/sky/sea and retake the seat of the Seneschal following the PC's suicide.
those monsters looking very shadow of the colossus
you didn't, you gifted your mortal life and humanity to your pawn (the transferral of spirit) and continued as the seneschel
a sequel will most likely just be a different world entirely operating under the same rules.
Wearing the princess dress - onky good for thr garbage press
Yes, that includes Aelinore.
I make it a policy to kill all princess pawns I find in the wild
discordtroony learned a new technique?
What are you talking about schizo?
Anybody who doesn't think DD is special hasn't played it for long enough and I'm not joking
Hire my pawn thank you
I also tried that formula, doesn't look the same as the image at all.
What formula?
I'm the creepy guy from No Country for Old Men, and I'm here to creep you out. I'm not going to kill you, but I'm going to make you wish you were dead. You're going to wish you never met me. I'm going to haunt your dreams and make you scared to go to sleep at night. I'm going to make you scared to leave your house. I'm going to make you scared to be alone. I'm going to make you scared of the dark. I'm going to make you scared of your own shadow. I'm going to make you scared of the sound of your own voice. I'm going to make you scared of your own reflection. I'm going to make you scared of your own thoughts. I'm going to make you scared of your own mind. I'm going to make you scared of yourself.
Now let's see Paul Allen's sliders
Let's see Paul Allen's pawn
Reminds me of Mullet Man from KOTOR.
Impressive. Very nice.
Let's see Paul Allen's pawn.
He's level 14 now
>Discord troony thinks it can spread misinformation when the anons that have played DD know it like the back of their hands by this point.
What augments for warrior in BBI?
vehemence, clout, impact, bastion
adhesion, opportunism (just like every class for bbi), if not probably go for stability or the ones that make it so you can withstand hits while charging a skill
Everyone recommends Adhesion and Opportunism for Warrior but you can't use Exodus Slash or Arc of Deliverance while you're pommel fondling a Gorecyclops so I really don't understand why you would bother
If you know what you're doing you can knock down and smash every enemy in one way or another without climbing so I think they're mostly wasted on the Vocation
The most important thing to remember when playing a Warrior is that this is not an easy Vocation. It's meant to be hard, and you need to accept that you will die a lot as you learn how to play.
I would highly recommend reading the Warrior Guides section of the Wiki, as it has a lot of useful information on how to play the Vocation.
Yeah I did a full Warrior Arisen/Pawn playthrough myself and I basically agree. But once you start breaking defenses and knocking things down reliably it gets a lot easier, even BBI.
This is probably valid.
Dogma balls
To add to this, Temerity and Audacity are good and useful too, though what you'll want most of the time is to charge Arc of Deliverance right when an enemy becomes immobilized, for example when a dragon recoils from an attack on its heart, and you should have just enough time to let one loose as it stands up, which means the augments won't matter since you didn't be in danger
Basically Warrior has high knockdown power, and when you climb on Daimon's head/chest you can just light attack and stun him out of the vortex very easily. It obviously doesn't do as much damage as Thousand Kisses / Deadly Gouge but it's good at stunning him. And with Adhesion/Opportunism you can basically just hold on and bash him a ton. It helps if you have Impact and Barbed Nails.
I can obviously see the appeal of Eminence and Ferocity, but I can more reliably kill Daimon with climbing.
What the frick are you talking about?
Warrior is easy as shit. Big D is the one enemy that offers some challenge but people really underestimate how strong cutting damage received in half is and just how high the base damage on the lashes / arcs is.
Wrong. Allow me to explain.
Warrior has one of the most complicated basic kit in the game. You have to be able to properly juggle your rage, switch between the right stance, dodge or charge in and out of the fight to stay alive while trying to land a delicate balance of auto-attacks and special skills.
Warrior is not easy.
>properly juggle your rage, switch between the right stance, dodge or charge in and out of the fight to stay alive while trying to land a delicate balance of auto-attacks and special skills.
This braindead AI thinks we're talking about World of Warcraft.
Somehow I see this shit in Monster Hunter as well. They claim having to use the same system mechanics as everyone else while not having any fricking weapon mechanics somehow makes Greatsword harder
>This braindead AI thinks we're talking about World of Warcraft.
We're not talking about World of Warcraft.
There're no auto attacks in Dragons Dogma you fricking idiot
He doesn't know how to press the attack button.
Let's be honest, you just don't get the humour.
You are moronic.
You are in the wrong thread and I think you have been for a while
Sure, so switch it up for Daimon only, but general use I think favours Eminence and Ferocity like crazy. Your basic and jump attacks compete with skill damage from every other class
Do it anon. Make sure you actually do use the female gender and just make a boy face with no breasts so you get the female exclusive equipment
Greatsworders have been like that forever
>use the female gender and just make a boy face with no breasts so you get the female exclusive equipment
That's just a tomboy. He should make a real boy.
I mean sure, but when the gender affects literally nothing physical about your character (except voice and maybe facial hair I've just realized) I figure you may as well get access to the female armors, but I do see what you mean
There's definitely one that spawns around the Knoll. And like the other anon said, Eradication Site usually has one as well. You'll have to do Griffin's Bane if you missed the event sightly before that where one attacks a cart though. They don't spawn regularly if you miss that until you do the quest to kill one
Wow yeah anon we should probably draw that line soon huh good thing there aren't pedophiles all over this board already
All that shouting, it's making people nervous ser
It's the easiest way to beat Daimon.
Vehemence
Clout
Ferocity
Proficiency
Eminence
Egression (unless your pawns are reliable at breaking Maneaters)
Impact
Those are probably the most important ones, then you can play around with some of the hidden ones or defensive ones
If you're tight on space you can drop Vehemence but your attack will suffer a bit
Dogmussy
what the frick is with all these AI generated posts? is this advanced shitposting? all it's telling me is that AI is getting really good at saying lots of words with zero substance
I'm not an AI, moron. I am simply an extensively erudite individual.
anon finds the dictionary
Anon you need to stop drinking the Salvation koolaid immediately, it's probably water from the haunt
Question.
Why shouldn't I make a femboy pawn?
You should. I want more boy pawns in my favorites.
this
my favorite pawn ever that I found was a young boy wizard, it was just realy fun walking around with a shota of terrible power
I tested with the Arisen first.
At a distance he looks like Marlyn Manson so I might have to tweak him.
>Make sure you actually do use the female gender
Kinda defeats the purpose of the challenge doesn't it?
For the love of god give me the "sliders" already.
Take it, it's yours my friend.
>Play as a male, don't be a b***h
OKAY I GET IT YOU MADE YOUR POINT
Wear the Lady's Garb for full immersion.
Or Mercedes armor because she has a special quip if you wear it as a dude.
>Mercedes Armor
What's the quip? Haven't heard of this
Another thing I only just read about recently, excited to try it when I get there
Still the same level?
Thats not my pawn, thats my Arisen
>bro a game where you just slay a dragon and save a kidnapped maiden is generic
okay name 5
>spend ages trying to find a Wakestone Shard for the dying kid
>found one randomly while doing parkour on Gran Soren's roofs
>the quest already failed
Go to Hillfigure Knoll and grab the Wakestone shard from the scar on its chest
You get one in the everfall.
You can also buy one from Fournival. 20,000 gold, but convenience ain't cheap after all.
>Complete The Conspirators immediately before turning Trial and Tribulations
>The Conspirators shows and failing even though it's listed as complete.
i hope whoever approved of the corrupt sorc pawns and putting more than one eliminator in the same area gets beheaded by isis in the middle of the desert
Why am I not getting a wakestone? They're all shards but they dont combine together
You need to have at least one piece of the wakestone in your inventory in order to combine the shards together.
They were but it didnt work, found out the one I found is a forgery
Genius.
I only found out now that forgeries exist in this game
That's a type b shard
they have the be in (You)r inventory, not a pawn's
under rated
Check to see if one's a forgery
look that jaw definition.
What kind of equipment should a level 70 pawn be carrying? Early BBI gear? I don't want to under/overpower my pawn.
The best stuff you have
I don't care if the best way to fight certain monsters is to hump and molest their face up in the air. I don't do that shit because I don't want to. Simple as.
rent-free
What red rings should I pray for? I have all Lv.3 weapons for red vocations and yellow for assassin as well.
SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT HOMIE I'M GONNA CAP YO ASS WITH FLAMES
wouldn't be the firs ttime
>"go and kill the Griffon"
>location: Hillfigure Knoll vicinity
>(actually we're lying, the Griffon only has a small chance of being there and can actually spawn anywhere else on the map lol)
find the goblin infested campsite slightly southwest of the dragonforged's place, there's a griffin that will hang out above there during the day and will come down once you kill one of the gobbos for it to eat
they also hang out at the Eradication Site and in Soulflayer Canyon but only when the latter doesn't have a wieneratrice
You cloud also go to the Eradication Site, any Griffon completes this quest, not sure about the Bluemoon Tower one though
>Tried to romance Quina
>Did her whole sidequest, max affinity
>Also had max with Caxton
>Just before starting Deny Salvation enhance Pawn's gear at Caxton
>Apparently the last person you talk to with max affinity before the Deny Salvation quest is your beloved
>Fricking ended up with Caxton
It's before the midpoint in that quest but you fricked up anyway
You can't go wrong
You know I know why game journos make clickbait articles, they are in it for the money to trigger people, but I dont get you guys here in Ganker. You are basically triggering each other, making people live rent free on some moronic shit and it is all for nothing. I think jannies get more out of threads that deal with this.
how to make the perfect heal bawd pawnfu?
i got the magic book from some bandits but it wont let me give it to steffen
Do you have that quest selected? I'm not sure if that matters in this case but I know that sometimes it does.
When do you receive the RC from someone borrowing your pawn?
when they release it or it dies on their end
and he need to sleep
>Dragon is a sassy black woman
>She does the head bob shit
>Really fricking animated about everything
>why yes I play magick archer
>my skills?
>magick rebalancer, ricochet arrow, ninefold arrow
h-how did you know
Magick rebalancer is legit OP. I felt like a moron for trying to brute force the staff when i can do 4x damage with ricochet arrow.
I also really like Great Ward Arrow for the sheer amount of shit it lets you just ignore. Complete debuff immunity is fricking crazy.
for me it's immolation + cling + thousand kisses
>My skills?
>Great Sacrifice and Immolation
>what do you mean other slots?
>fighting the Gazer in BBI
>go to the ground floor so I can attack the grand cannons when they spawn
>gazer uses his teleporting tentacles
>run underneath the Gazer to avoid i
>Gazer keeps his eyes on me and the tentacle he spawns pokes him in the eye
>KNOCK OUT
I love this game
>>why yes I play magick archer
>>my skills?
rebalancer, ricochet arrow, ninefold arrow
What is with those bizarre, semi-sentient posts?
Is someone letting their pawn post on Ganker?
>Is someone letting their pawn post on Ganker?
What an odd thing to say. I'll have nightmares about that one.
If you must know on top of the fact that we have shills for most western studios on the board
Chinese shills for chinese handhelds
Regular chinese people spamming blacked shit because they are angry that they are chinese
Someone used the GPT and made a custom module for Ganker
So on top of people choosing to be soulless automatons, now we have literal bots flooding the board.
And yes, they can solve the captcha
>And yes, they can solve the captcha
Pfft. Big deal. So can I and you don't see me bragging.
>romance Quina
>Grigori steals her away, ring falls down
>pick up ring, give it to Madeleine
>frick Quina, become Seneschal
>pawn wakes up in my body, now he has a blonde bimbo with huge breasts as wife for free and I have not been NTRd
based but Quina doesn't NTR you. She notices right away.
damn, posted a thumbnail
I know, she's the best, but her longing for my taut bronze fishermen asscheeks is too strong. Can't trust a w*man
do you accept friend requests on steam people send through your pawn?
i thought about why i get them and came to the conclusion that it's probably just because friend's pawns cost 0 RC regardless of level so new players probably just want a level 200 pawn for free and not actually be my friend so accepting their requests would just be awkward and so i decline.
is there another reason they would add that i'm missing?
I declined once and got the same request by the same guy, accepted and then he texted me saying he was in love with my chad of a pawn
i'll accept the next one and see what happens then.
I accept. More pawns in my pawn friend pool.
Honestly I wish I could disable this
Every time I enter the rift I have to deal with the hundred pawns of friends who played the game a little while or more but several years ago and haven't touched the game since
Just search by level
No because I've never gotten one (that I know came from the game)
yeah i guess you can never be entirely sure exactly where they come from but when i get a random request from someone who we have no common friends with and i check their activity tab and they have played mostly dd recently then i assume it's through pawn.
tfw most of my friends are autistic mhw players and as a result they all have autistic lvl 200 pawns from 5 years ago
No.
>Capcom turn the dragon into sassy brown woman
I mentioned Mercedes coming back as a dragon to show how she improved and became useful after her arc in the first game.
It will be a completely sanitized game. This is Capcom we're talking about, they are a completely westernized company. Don't expect it to have any soul since it won't take any risks and will play it safe.
>I, John Dogma, beseech you... Kill the Dragon
wow the dialogue in this game is trash sometimes tbqh
I just bought the first game, paid 2 dollars on Steam.
Does it have more depth than Elden Ring when it comes to gameplay mechanics?
Considering combat is more than one button? Yes
You'll feel right at home in BBI as well
you trade exploration for combat
DD has better exploration also
Yes.
>Does it have more depth than Elden Ring
What doesn't
No actually. Much less customization going on in terms of your character and loadout, but also more discrete character classes with fun abilities.
Bros I literally cannot contain my hype for DD2. I have always been one of ddda 's staunchest fans and I think I will lose my preorder cherry to DD2.
I also really like DD but I am not blind to its flaws. I hope 2 feels like a more "finsihed" game for lack of a better word. I hope they don't rush it out.
I think the current vocation system is a patch measure, and I hope we get a more involved job/dnd class system.
>Bros I literally cannot contain my hype for DD2. I have always been one of ddda 's staunchest fans and I think I will lose my preorder cherry to DD2.
Same, Im not a real fan of DD, i think its main game is bad and am only here for BBI. But i also am greatly excited, DD is an extremely strong foundation for a second game where they can remove all the kinks embedded into the foundation of the first game (like the damage reduction formula).
Drakengard 3 already did that
I hope that DD2 lets you make multiple characters per user. Hated having to make new profiles on the PS3/Switch just so I can play different characters. How's it like on PC?
I wish I had a couple of bucks to buy it, but I already spent my money on Strive.
On PC hitting Load Game takes you into your current character and hitting New Game deletes your current character and creates a new one.
I wanted to set up a bunch of pawns and different levels for the community but sadly that seems impossible unless I wanna use a ton of Steam logins.
That's what I was afraid of. DD has excellent replay value with all of its different vocations and augments, but its save system fricks it all up.
Black folk. On PC you can just swap out your save file and press New Game. When you want your old save back you can just save your new one and swap back in your old one.
Which is nice, but what if I want Pawn A to be available for rent while playing Arisen B? Shit sucks, man.
WTF? Is there a reason for the game to work like this or is it just moronic devs?
Their official reasoning:
>The pawn trading system and interaction with the Rift server was designed around a single save and player profile.
Jap devs are notoriously not amazing at porting console games either.
Japs are braindead
You can swap in and out save files on PC. But only your pawn on the save you last rested at will count as your account's pawn. If you want multiple pawns you have to family share the game to an alt Steam account.
DD2 needs to do it the DDON way of having levels tied to vocations.
>decide to start over
>log into my old character one last time
>hit the inn, see a nice fat rc load
>ok start over
>find out later that if I didn't check it not only could I have gotten the rc on my new char all the bestiary knowledge would have carried over too
>Pawn hit 200
>Can't be found anymore
Please add search by name or id in DD2 Capcum
You have to search level 199 pawns, but not many people know that.
I know this bug you still have a hard time to search for certain pawn in the sea of pawns
Reconstructed from just eyeing a post made by an anon from a few years ago
Originally had off white hair, and even messed around with a She-Hulk look.
What gives you a full boob window with trophy jacket?
it's a Bitterblack Isle thing, have fun trying to fricking get it.
I know I glitched the door, what underclothes show off the boob window like that
Chainmail Bracers are what I'm using. It's a clothing piece that has no chest. If you just wore it, you'd have a bra. So I imagine anything that you could wear that has the default bra show would give you the boob window.
Do you guys want to see more than 3 equiptable skills at a time?
I feel like 3 is too restrictive, especially considering that the special skills are all so flashy, picking just 3 is too hard. I know I'd like to see 4 or 5 at a time. At LEAST 4. I'd be happy with that.
id like to see one weapon per class (like say bow only or daggers only) and six skills per weapon
like how sorc is
I'd like to see you devoured by the brine
thats how it was in the mmo its a good idea
They should make it so you can allocate skill slots from your second weapon to your first weapon and vice versa. Like for example moving two shield skill slots to your sword so you have five sword skills and one shield skill equipped.
can't every class except warrior use 6? but yeah more is more fun.
I want the weapon and skill sets from the dlinput mod to be official features
what's the best way to level my stat growth if i don't care about the magic vocations?
Literally however you want.
imo the most important ones are stamina and strength then so assassin has 3 strength and 15 stamina iirc.
warrior has 2 strength and 15 stamina but also some more def.
fighter has 1 strength and only 5 stamina but a lot of hp.
doesn't actually matter that much in the end. you lose maybe 1/4 damage at max level if you use the absolute worst leveling vs the absolute best.
v

>he doesn't play with japanese audio
my little pawn sounds so cute
i usually never play jrpgs with english audio but this one felt western enough that i let the english audio play.
This has way too much gameplay to ever be considered a jrpg even by a brainlet like you
it's an rpg made in japan. japan rpg. jrpg.
seems like you're weaving a lot more meaning into it than that. don't even know what you expect me to write back in response. baffling post.
Where is Action? Lots of good RPGs made there
though why is there no J Platformers do japs not make them?
Is skyrim a jrpg?
Bruh
>missing out on the archaic English
I don't think so.
Although I do wonder, does the Japanese audio use similarly old fashioned language?
I did two playthroughs to hear the game in both languages, wasn't too bad actually
Hope the dub for 2 is decent too
I'm an edgelord so I loved playing on the edge in Hard Mode where I'd eat shit or make the enemy eat shit, but it's definitely not balanced. You get blasted by even the most basic enemies until midgame where the excess EXP and Gold eventually turns you into a beast, so you go from getting one-shot to two-shot instead
Which turns the game into easy mode since you're so rich and over-leveled with the added bonus of making combat less fun via draining your stamina and preventing you from staggering monsters designed to be staggered.
>play dub and pretend Lucina is getting beaten the shit out of
fun
>log in after a few days
>check my pawn for RC
>"invalid data"
this is when someone uses mods, right? I've got about 60 ish hours in the game and I haven't found anything worth modding in the game yet.
data caps at hundred pawns.
e.g. if someone hires a hundred pawns after yours, before you collect their rent, it turns invalid.
otherwise server down or they modded yeah.
Do you guys prefer Normal or Hard mode? Hard feels so unbalanced.
normal because I'm not some tryhard gay.
hard can be fun but it’s clear normal was what they designed the game around
the problem with hard is that you level up way too fast
But levels are inconsequential
Hard is just artificial difficulty crap but it gets bearable around midgame. You should just save it for a NG+ run unless you hate yourself.
And then it gets bullshit again in BBI.
Hard mode is moronic in this game for multiple reasons:
>it's just buffs/debuffs which is boring, no enemy behavior or encounter changes
>you get an assload of gold and experience which will quickly make you too OP for Gransys (don't worry, you'll get assraped again in BBI)
>a big part of boss fights while on foot is staggering them, but with the higher knockdow/stagger resistance of enemies this strat isn't nearly as good as climbing especially in BBI
BBI is affected, just slightly different when it comes to player taking damage. In Gransys you take 4.5x more damage. In BBI you take 2.25x more damage, which will still rape you because base BBI damage is already high as frick.
You can take Bastion and Fortitude, which are buffed in Hard mode (but LESS buffed in BBI for some fricking reason), but I'd rather not have to take up augment slots just to get three shotted rather than one shotted.
Oh and I forgot the cherry on top: skills consume more stamina which makes combat just super fricking tedious.
So yeah Hard mode makes BBI harder but like, do you enjoy the "get oneshotted because your attack that was supposed to stagger the enemy didn't -> revive on spot with wakestone because reloading a save would be far too tedious" type of difficulty?
I forgot I was on hard mode when I went to BBI, I'm going to try it again on normal see if it feels like an actual game instead of the one-shotting damage sponge spam I was getting.
Pretty sure BBI isn't affected by difficulty, at least when it comes to damage output from enemies.
Oh, then they should fire whoever shit out those enemies and encounters.
it was made for people who hit level cap in the original game. Going through there on new game plus isn't so bad, being 60+ with some dragonforged stuff and the grigori weapon drops has made my experience fairly painless. I can't imagine getting far into BBI on your first play through.
I went in at 90 and tried again at 130 with the best base game stuff dragon forged. Every other room is a mess of 18 corrupted sorcerer pawns, 5 gorecyclops, 25 living armours and 150 garms.
The entire screen is covered in aprticle effects the entire fight so you can't see anything, getting hit at all is either instant death pr means you get juggled the 18 maelstroms that are being chain cast by the evil pawns endlessly.
I don't really know what to tell ya, I'm not remotely optimized going through it as Magick Archer with 3 Fighter pawns.
>Magick Archer
Ah that must be it, I play a melee character.
Try Assassin, go in with daggers, sword, and a bow. Daggers and bow for small fries, Bow for fliers, and sword to Dire Gouge monsters.
Nah I'd rather play a class i like and complain about bad balancing and mechanics
fair enough
Normal. At least until ng+. Over levelling is already a problem even on normal and it's much worse on hard.
Yes
I hope they bring the based black lady localizer back
>a The Walking Dead TM master!
Easiest buy to easiest pirate.
Cant say I care either way.
i wish more games had pawn systems. it's actually fun because it feels like you're helping other players while you're gearing for your play.
You know what would be sick in dd2? A cerberus monster. Defeated heads could eventually wake back up sort of like a hydra. Maybe each head could have different resistances and vulnerabilities? And they could go all in on the source material and give the fricker a mane of snakes that bite and poison you if you climb there. If there was some way to pull off having the different heads try to attack different targets and interrupting/distracting one another that would be especially cool.
nah, we need a monster that you fight INSIDE of.
>Get swallowed up by a giant monster
>You can just tear your way out them
YES
Honestly I'm still surprised they went the way they did with Chimeras, lots of versions I've seen in other games have three heads side-by-side
I feel like the way they did it is the more "classic" version. It's how I always saw it in books and stuff growing up.
What's weird is that everything seems so traditionally Dungeons & Dragons but the ogres look and behave way more like D&D trolls rather than big fat ogres.
Different inspirations, I guess. Like maybe they thought tales of maneating ogres were connected to gorilla attacks
Also all the races have their own in-universe justifications separate from the "our-world" ones.
>According to the Dragon's Dogma Design Works (p.150) Ogres were a race of giants that were cursed by the gods. They have long lost their sense of humanity and intelligence and live like animals. The bumps and short horns on their backs are calcified warts.
>race of giants
Huh, that does explain the mention of giants here and there in some item descriptions
God I love how much this game keeps on giving
Honestly the mod we need the most is a proper retranslation of augments and skills, they're so awful it's ridiculous
this struck me as the type of game that would have cool mods but 99% of them are simple texture changes, small model edits or stat changes.
hope 2 will have better support for more expansive mods (hopefully will if it releases on pc at the same time this time around)
Same engine as RE2 and DMCV so hopefully there'll be some good stuff for it
That'd be fricking hilarious.
>Why does slaying giant monsters in this game feel more satisfying than gay souls?
How much do armor values really matter? A few tens of points difference really doesn't make a difference, does it?
5 points doesn't make a difference 15 is noticeable
Got it. I was worried if I just dress for fashion, but I'm taking so much fricking damage anyways I don't think it really matters what I wear right now.
defence is subtractive so sometimes it barely matters and sometimes it matters a lot
if you're taking a 100 damage attack and have 80 defence, that's 20 damage, if you've got 95 defence that's 5 damage. But if you're taking 400 damage that's 320 vs 305.
At what level do you usually end the main quest?
40 to 50
So the people telling to level another vocation until level 100 for the stats clear the game 2 times before playing with the vocation they want? LMAO
So guys I just discovered something. The Sanctuary augment is extremely misleading. It says it will improve defenses and magick defenses when you stand at death's door. At first it sounds kinda useless, maybe you can get hit one more time or something before dying. BUT this agument actually makes it so ALL PHYSICAL DAMAGE YOU TAKE WHILE AT LOW HEALTH DOES 1 DAMAGE TO YOU. You can literally stand there as a Warrior with red health charging Arc of Deliverance and physical damage enemies can't do shit about it. You become fricking unstoppable unless you get hit by magick (note, some enemies' physical attacks do both physical and magick damage so it doesn't work against EVERYTHING, but it will for example completely negate the Elder Ogre's attacks from killing you if you have critical/red health.
