I expect it to have about the same combat-feel (so very good), at least less bad if not good progression mechanics (you could hardly be worse), better aesthetic (that's pretty unarguable from footage seen thus far), and offensive story (same as D3).
Out of these combat-feel is the highest-priority factor and awful progression mechanics are D3's greatest flaw, so unless forced multiplayer or some such turns out to be a disastrous (it certainly dampens by interest since I prefer SSF to grouping at all, and organized parties to being automatched with randoms), I expect it to be strictly better. Indeed, combat-feel is such a big deal that as it is D3 is my preferred Diablo2like next to Last Epoch, it's just that it's only playable for a few dozen hours per season until progression that feels meaningful ceases.
