Will gamers give a shit if AI makes the music in their games?

Ai music is getting good and it won't be long before studios start using it, but will the people who buy games actually give a shit?

We eventually won't even be able to tell and there's no good argument against it either way, because of how music is formulated. If the song fits with what's going on in the game then it just fits and that's that, it doesn't matter how many days or weeks or even years it took you to create it.
AI music is already better than most a lot of human made music, even the stuff with vocals. And it will improve until it's perfect sounding.

It's not like we didn't already have oceans of this. I've already heard some decent songs generated by AI, surprisingly. I wasn't expecting this for another year.

The people you should avoid are those who speak in faux-apathetic lowercaps at all times. To be clear, I'm not talking about people who speak without grammar in game in order to get their messages out faster. I'm talking about those who sit down to compose an image board post with all the time in the world and willfully choose to omit punctuation and capitalization. They are not doing this to save time. In fact, they may take additional time to redact habitual grammar from their posts.

Their motivation for this style of posting is simple. They are trying to present an aura of apathy. They want to communicate: "I don't care about anything, least of all the rules of grammar." The reason they work so hard to cultivate this image of emotional invulnerability is because they are, in actual fact, extremely emotional and unstable people. If you become close to them you will catch glimpses of the volatility lurking beneath their patchwork mask of cool indifference. The lowercaps poster will silently catalog transgressions you have in its eyes committed. You will only become aware of them during the rare tantrum blowups that characterize these people. They must be avoided for your own good. The faux-apathetic lowercaps posters really could not be more pathetic.

Like art, AI music will lack soul. I expect it to be used to make filler music while actual composers will continue to make the actual important music. A good OST goes a long fricking way. It's not something AI slop can make. Ultimately, all this means is more low effort indie games make it onto market.

It's still weird to think art is easier than writing. I thought it was going to be the other way around, hell I think everyone did.
AI music is cool because you'll be able to feed it songs and it'll iterate on them or create similar things to it. AI sound effects is another thing that's really cool that nobody talks about.
      >sound of a boob falling on a table, masterpiece, high impact, high volume

The worst offender by far though is the crap that plays on the radio, it's all just a giant daisy chain of covers and samples.

art is still difficult, it doesnt really design coherent shit its just pin up girls and vague environments but this is still more valuable then the absolute vapid worthless writing it would give you. AI generated music has been around from many years, even before the current technological leap, people also care less about it being coherent as long as it has the correct feel.

I generally have 0 interest in AI generated art or writing because I have higher standards for it but AI music as filler is passable.

          >AI generated music has been around from many years
This new wave of music is different than the older stuff, it's way more coherent and it can sing the text that you give it. Lots of styles too.

For games, art is useful already since it can texture random stuff well enough. Have you seen the Blender plugin? And text is still a ways off but I think it will be good enough with the next GPT.

that image is pretty useless as are all imaginative environmental gens, I know because I've messed with it extensively, it serves the same function as Pinterest inspiration images for an actual artist but in many cases its worse because there isn't a coherent artistic vein to draw from.

            [...]
AI is good for concept art.

mood paintings and vague nonsensical environments and characters are not concept art, its illustration. concept art is designing an accurate 3d turnaroud of a character that takes into account gameplay functionality and setting. concept art of architecture and interiors requires detailed line art of pieces that need to be modeled and clipped into pieces while pushing a very specific, coherent style. landscapes, maybe slightly more useful, its useless for vehicles though

I think, once a.i. tools become sophisticated enough that a layman can easily produce media and content indistinguishable from the real thing, art won't be a business anymore, except maybe for the a.i. tool sellers. It'll be something you personalize for yourself, and maybe you try out 'experiences' your friends made once in a while.
Eventually, after years and years of the a.i. having nothing but itself to learn off of, it will start to become shit, and there will be a great second rennaisance of art, and maybe a.i. gets banned for applications outside of running factories and collecting garbage. Self produced art, and the recognition it brings, will be the only currency a post-scarcity society recognizes. Thank 4 read blog

Truthfully, I don't know what I'm talking about. This is assuming a.i. learning/sorting doesn't also improve in the future, but assuming a.i. displaces people from making art, and people stop making it, it will eventually either start to stale from the preexisting pool of human art or start using its own work to generate new art, right?
I'm talking out my ass, and just wondering what society looks like in fifty or a hundred years with a.i. It might very well be that a.i. just continues to become more and more sophisticated, and people start to hook up to nutrient i.v. drips and spend their lives exploring VR worlds, but I like the idea of the people who don't choose to go off colonizing terraformed worlds spending their days farting about perfecting 'choose your own adventure' paper backs while little robots maintain society.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what training is, you seem to think it copies a style once and that's it, that it can not use that data(and the data of literally everything else that people have made) and make new styles averaging out points within an ever increasing matrix of neurons. And then you can do it again training with a completely different configuration and get completely different results. And then you can mix both of those models together for another leap of uniqueness.

The idea that AI for some reason constantly needs new art to learn from or that it can't constantly create new art to learn from makes literally zero sense if you have even the base understanding of machine learning. And yeah this assumes nothing changes, and it will change. It does all the time.
          >I'm talking out my ass, and just wondering what society looks like in fifty or a hundred years with a.i.
Just keep dreaming like that instead of getting doom pilled looking at what's going on in the world and what they have planned for us. Oh lord.

            >You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what training is
Yes, and don't get me wrong, I'm really not invested in this topic except as a layman who's into in science fiction novels. I'm just curious what the end-game of a.i. looks like. Obviously the learning process is fantastically sophisticated, and I don't need an autist to explain something so obvious as a.i. being able to retrain on and recombine media from it's pool of resources.
Assuming that, in fifty years, people stop making art themselves in lieue of using a.i., and the pool a.i. draws from ceases to grow, eventually it will (in either a short or long time) 'exhuast' that pool, by which I mean it will have combined and trained and recontexualized it's vast stores in every possible permutation, and then maybe what it starts to spit out gets stale to the five thousand illuminati superelite shadow government god-emperors who still get to spend leisure time jerking off to weirdly saturated pictures of princess peach with massive breasts holding a can of heinz baked beans with fifty toads in the background.

              >I'm just curious what the end-game of a.i. looks like.
An infinite number of humans living in digital/analog computer world. So say there are 200 talented artists you really like or would like if you knew about them, in the future there could be 2000 or just some infinite number of artists like that. All with their unique quirks.
              99999 AI gfs
              99999 AAA devs

              etc.
AI = artificial intelligence = digital humans that are better than the best human(faster, smarter, more knwledgeable).

That's the utopia AI anyway, what we'll get is probably something closer to Terminator and digital israelites that censor everything haha.

              > and the pool a.i. draws from ceases to grow,
This just can't happen. Even if AI stopped advancing today it would still develop new art styles with what methods we currently have. It's hard to explain the two points between these two images but try to imagine literally 9999 different combinations of two distinct styles. And then add 10 more art styles and imagine the points between those styles. It's just as nigh infinite as humanities creativity ever was. The only problem with AI art right now is that it makes weird mistakes, but the styles it can produce are distinct.

Could you maybe entertain the idea that I'm simplifying this to an incredible degree, in response to another autist who couldn't stop himself from hyper-focusing on the first technicality he could expound on, when all I originally wanted to do was entertain a stupid 'what-if?' hypothetical?
Obviously a.i. isn't going to linearly progress at the exact same pace, in the exact same fashion, for fifty years, you dumbass. Of course some breakthrough is going to let a.i. start to self-improve at accelerating speeds, and whatever it looks like in fifty years is going to be totally unrecognizable from what we have now.
What I'm asking is, in three hundred years, what are humans living on a artificial habitat on a gigantic space ship going to do for fun, assuming we don't all get sequestered into nutrient pods in a giant lot underground on earth, when we've got robots doing everything worth doing better than any human could do them. Are they going to have bacchanal 1990s CYOA pulp revivals, and pass these shitty hand-made paperbacks out to friends just for the novelty of reading physical media?

I don't get what the big deal is, games like Mario Maker are very popular and that's just dragging pre-made assets into a coherent level, if anything AI will make it so creating things is more or less like virtual legos and if you wanna go beyond that then you record or draw your own shit or pay someone to do it, it's not that difficult. Someone still has to make everything that the AI is trained for anyway just like a Mario Maker game has original sprites someone at Nintendo got paid to make so they could be used by literal millions of people.

Nah it's just pretty good. Most music is below a lot of this AI stuff because an artist can usually only squeeze so much bangers out. A CD will have the top couples song, the mid sings, and then the forgettable songs and AI seems to be trained on the area that produces the mid to best songs, they kind of hover in that area instead of the forgettable songs(most music).

The problem with AI generation being fueled like this is it's going to hurt a lot of people. It's already cannibalizing stuff like book writing a lot harder than drawings. The music industry is already really shit with how it treats artists due to a lack of regulation, where stuff like this would wipe it clean and replace 90% of music with AI very quickly where most pop songs would be made around this (they use templates already to make a Pop song in a day). With writing, good writers deserve to still be seen and they should. With drawings drawn art still has a value and AI art does give more value to good artists who can do what AI cannot. With music it's fricked since the music industry has been very corrupt overall. Suno AI being in the time length range Pop songs want to be in is also insane.

Expect a lot of Pop music to embrace this overnight as a backbone with using vocals over it they get from real people. But it's 100% going to be big with sampling.

I unironically do not know why EVERYWHERE i fricking go on the internet there's some moron shilling low quality AI content, images, music, etc, or some AI scam or some AI generated articles full of generic hallucinated bullshit
It's everywhere and I don't like it. It's either companies trying to make you watch ads through content that costed them 0 effort, some talentless homie showing the class the first thing he has ever created since he did it with the push of a button, or unironic AI shills trying to push the tech since people don't like it in general when something's mass produced and done in bad faith.
I wouldn't mind if it were just an option out there, but it's fricking everywhere, the people that like it can't stop shilling it, and I hate it.

Tried to make a boss fight theme, but it took so many attempts for something at least decent. It still has a few bumps. AI is still far from replacing artists, but at the current rate, it might be soon.

I just really like people making stuff. Whether it's good or bad, there's at least something of a thought there of why they do certain things, why this, why that. Henry Darger for instance was a weird fricker with a massive library of drawings and stories. Yeah, a lot of it looks like shit, but it's nothing if not fascinating.
I respect the amount of work that went into making AI work as well as it does now, and there's AI stuff I find amusing or even neat, but it doesn't hit the same notes for me.

I don't respect the 'work' that went into Chainflaw Trans. I hope the mangaka dies in a bus accident.

I'll take your word for it, because I don't care about CSM. Last anime/manga I cared about was Dark Gathering.

SMT/Pokemon with ghosts. Small girl who dresses like she escaped from Kingdom Hearts teams up with cursed ghost magnet dude and his yandere but otherwise surprisingly normal and genuinely supportive girlfriend, to capture ghosts and use them to beat up other ghosts. Frequently pretty gruesome, some cool spooks. It's fairly engaging and actually seems to have a cohesive plot so far. Anime was alright too, it clearly could have used some more on the budget front, but they did a pretty decent job all in all.

The world will move on without you. You can stay seething or join the AI revolution against artoids

You are incredibly moronic. You think you're creating art, but you're giving a sentence to a computer. You couldn't possibly be more pathetic. There is nothing sadder than an AIslopper who thinks he's creating.

Bro this is like trying to convince people to continue riding horses when cars exist. AI will inevitably take over the arts.

Bro, riding horses is incredibly high test. You are a troony who asks the computer to make a world in which you are accepted.

I will never understand your "excitement" over AI, it's about as genuine as all the threads praising Fallout 4, 76 and the fallout TV show right now.
