Is it worth grabbing? It's just the same game with new characters right? And I suppose Watcher is gonna be the same? What's the point?
If you really enjoyed the pure gameplay of Rain World then Downpour is just 5 more different characters and campaigns to play the game and a lot of new rooms to explore as well as challenge and expedition modes that offer a lot of playtime. If you only liked the gameplay to the degree of getting through the main story and had no immediate desire to replay it then it might not be worth it.

Probably not, i doubt there would be a completely new moveset.
It's probably going to be survivor with stealth mechanics and something to do with echoes, and i am fine with it as long as it's not going to be powercreep hell like downpour
Stealth mechanics seems redundant if the areas have lots of paths and shit to avoid enemies
Rain world feels like a one and done type thing so I think what they did in downpour was the best way to go about it in terms of gameplay mechanics.
Not really, avoidance is possible but it's not the most optimal way of traversal. Simply adding an incentive to move faster or enemies which can track you much better would encourage using stealth mechanics, and DLC promises a lot of new creatures.

a really strong enemy that can track you really well could be like the Pursued burden but less extreme for certain areas.
Pursuit it's barely threatening because red centipede vision system can be easily abused since the can't really see you while moving. I'd rather see something sound based like DLLs, but with higher mobility and ability to hunt you down through rooms, so you'd have to lay low for a while for it to loose track or distract it with something or somebody.
After going through Hunter and Artificer I'm kind of tired of enemy gauntlets and being chased around by lizards/scabs, the game is honestly better when it's not being 200% agressive.
If they are going to add some new creatures I would prefer something that adds a new layer like the vultures and preferrably something that can heavily interact with other creatures since it's always fun to watch them fight eachother.

The original game is peak and the best version of the game. The advent of the subreddit and official discord made it the most insufferable community I have seen, and whichever community "leaders" influenced the developers by mirroring the deranged circlejerks they manage (for free), have tainted the game and alienated potential customers.
For reasons I don't fully understand, the game attracted a very specific group of people commonly found in the depths of twitter and tumblr political spheres, and it became a safe space for the most intolerant and divisive people you could imagine.
You WILL see woke messaging in this DLC. Likely a character having some sort of gender crisis, or "hidden" pride flags.
This was once one of my favorite games, I even used to recommend it to people. Now its a disappointment and I will do the most powerful thing I can, not spend money on it.

Pipeyard sucked. It's just the worst parts of all the regions it took it took inspiration from. Endless dark tunnels of sub, cramped swimming challenges of filtration and fairly bland surface of industrial. It's huge, cumbersome, hard to traverse and generally unfun.

Pipeyard has good music, i give it that. But yeah, it's sad that the only commonly shared region is overall pretty lackluster

There are some modded regions as a filler but they're not going to be the main focus, so most of new content should be created by original developers.
