      idk

      huh?

It's been quietly falling apart behind the scenes, with project leads jumping ship. I don't think so

      source?

Is there any details on the game? You can't really judge if it will succeed or not without some info yet

      not sure

I hope not because LoR is liquid crack and I don't want to be tempted.

      what's LoR?

No, it will be an LGBT infested pile of shit with Borderlands writing and no coomer shit.
It's dead on arrival and anyone who thinks it'll do well is a complete fricking moron.

      maybe

      >No, it will be an LGBT infested pile of shit with Borderlands writing and no coomer shit.
      >It's dead on arrival and anyone who thinks it'll do well is a complete fricking moron.

Honestly he's probably right. If they let the autistic card game team or anyone like them anywhere near it then the game will probably be shit.

          >The team was a passion project of two lads, one of them jumped ship, the other just got into a more influential positsion.
          >Dave is fricking up fricking massively, banked on having the same funding as he had at launch, leaving the game bloated with half finished modes
          >Card releases grinded to a halt, been a year for multiple regions since they got anything else than variety cards, half the new cards no longer get voice lines
          >Latest addition, a legacy shop, was such a fricking mess they had to appologise and try to fix it
LoR had such a promising start, but it crashed and burned. The only hope it has is the MMO release giving it more funding and getting more attention

No they dramatically missed the boat on making an MMO.

      >no coomer shit
The type of lgbt that obsess over this shit and are easily pandered to are porn addicts.

Yes, it will be massively successful. Anyone saying otherwise is only demonstrating how disconnected they are from the modern gaming industry.
Riot knows how to work the industry like no one else, and they're shameless about it. They will steal and copy anything that's popular, dilute it down to a level that gives it even wider mass appeal, slap a zoomer friendly coat of paint on it and then hand it over to marketing to turn on their infinite Chinese money faucet. This game is going to be a huge threat to WoW and Final Fantasy when it releases.

Better question. Will it be fun?

        Anonymous

It won't be fun, but it will have all the necessary stimuli to trigger the reward mechanisms in the brain over and over until the player believes they're having fun.

it will most definitely have a fomo mechanics like seasons or passes so it goes to the toilet. the problem is that riot already built up a cult around their IP so people will follow for trendy new thing. League is a top peak meme example "i hate this but im addicted to it lmao".

I don't know about LoR and TFT, but Wild Rift apparently isn't doing very well, and it's pretty much dead in China since Tencent has a more successful MOBA to advertise

Pretty much. As much as I don't really care for anything Riot puts out (arena mode in league was a good time, though), they undoubtedly know how to appeal to the lowest common denominator and maintain that grip on them; myself and plenty of others were confident in Valorant being shortlived when it first came out, but it's just as, if not more relevant now as it was at launch.
They'd have to frick up tremendously not to have the game be a hit.

all of their games are shameless, soulless copies only played by bugmen, mmo market in asia is already filled with such games theres very little chance they will break though.

Riot has huge American audience, especially with Gen Z. Valorant is one of the most popular games in the world and that's almost entirely from North American player numbers.

MMO's are a decaying boomer genre.

That being said, if someone can succeed, it would be Riot.

      Anonymous

It's a decaying genre because of World of Warcraft and AMERICAN sub-humans.

Look at Ragnarok online, 2 years before WoW, it was Dungeons and Dragons without turns, that was clearly the idea of the game. Grid based, attributes that get more expensive as you invest in them, skills you need to pick carefully and plan on what you want your character to do.

Then came WoW, cloning the absolute WORST flaws of Ultima and Everquest and telling 200 million boomers that that's the ultimate standard of what an MMO is. Just like dumping a massive amount of toxic sludge on a river; it might take half a century for us to recover from this damage, just like how when Bethesda and Wizards of the Coast abandoned Fallout and DnD western RPGs which led to 20 years having no valuable content, or how a handful of RTS games abandoning isometry led all top down strategy games have a 3d camera which is actually fricking improper for a strategy game for a wide variety of reasons. These big companies making blunders and taking a massive dump have lasting consequences in the entire industry.

It's not going to be another safe PvE WoW-clone that's for sure. Only 30+ boomers are interested in playing those and they are way too expensive to develope today.
It's going to be focused on non-optional PvP, maybe even with equipment loss on death. Very solo-player oriented. That's what MMO players want these days.

The only MMO that will be successful in the future will be the one that manages to pull of a VR World. Everything else will fail.

MMOs with high system requirements always fail. MMOs need players to work and most of them are free-to-play thirdies on toasters that can't even pay rent.

Riot is run by morons, reminder that 15% of their staff already quit because they are trying to force everyone back into the office ontop of the company struggling to hire people due to their horrible reputation
Their MMO is being made by college grads who are so bad no other tech company is willing to hire them

MMO to westerners means WoW clone. So no, cloning this 2004 game filled with limitations won't be a success.

Just look at american comments on reddit, they're orgasming at the thought of playing a shitty fetch-quest MMO again. They want that sweet potty-gameplay that even women can click through.
