This is just a bug fix, so no.
I'm interested to see what changes they're doing based off what they've said, but as long as the game has borderlands style gunplay, I probably won't enjoy it.

      >borderlands
Are you moronic? It has no random generated guns. Every addon can be bought or made, damage numbers can be cheaply upgraded. Every manufacturer is accessible since the start in shops. There is no random generated stats on weapons.

        Anonymous

        >im-fricking-plying a borderlands comparison isn't apt
guns that aren't 'iconic' are just copy pasted with different stats among all enemies, just like BL, same with randomly assigned elemental damage or attachments

          Anonymous

Only stat that differs is the +damage from weapon level(which you can upgrade) It's only mental cases like you that think you have to pick up every trash that lies on the ground or that there is any difference between dropped weapons and the ones bought. It was never a looter shooter because you don't need the loot if you actually settle for a weapon you like.

            Anonymous

            >(which you can upgrade)
only if you put points into crafting though, which is optional
            >because you don't need the loot if you actually settle for a weapon you like.
just a plain dishonest argument since any reasonable player would want to use a gun they find that has better stats than the one you have, which is the entire reason for loot having a massive green arrow on it if it's better than what you currently have

        >defending looter shooter mechanics on the grounds that they don't actually do anything
a common gun still does less damage than an uncommon gun so the system still sucks ass, ty

not to mention you can find a lvl1 gun and a lvl40 gun that's completely identical except for the fact that it does x200 damage
          this shit kills gunplay
when systems like this are in place, gameplay is reduced to gear whoring, nothing else matters

Why the FRICK is this shit everywhere? It completely shat on w3's difficulty in every regard. Why the FRICK did they include it in a modern setting game too?

I've never understood why they haven't continually added content patches and expanding the game they did with Witcher titles ? They could fix systems, overhaul, add new content etc...and it could improve significantly. They've done a little bit of this targeting the worst (ie police spawning from nowhere if you shoot someone with not witnesses doesn't happen anymore) but it has so much potential that little fixes aren't really enough. Getting the game to "okay" is disappointing after TW3. Some say its all on Phantom Liberty but I think the base title needs the overhaul itself., Glad they'er at least patching it though

      Anonymous

Probably because a good chunk was placed on the next big money maker title after the game literally brought the entire studio to its knees and investors went panic mode and the best that was left was busy with the DLC. There would be nothing to announce if they put it all out with patches.

I don't think they will salvage anything with the DLC. The world is super static and barely interactable, I didn't hear anything about new activities and the biggest overhaul/implement they can talk about is police chases.
      Not enough.

And they didn't even learn shit. They fricked the game with Keanu, who is the most annoying part of the story and they doubled down and put not only him in the DLC again but yet ANOTHER expensive actor. Money that could be used to hire a hundred neets who usually make better mods for free.

It's not a serious studio anymore.

        >They fricked the game with Keanu
Pleb opinion, they fricked the game by tackling a project FAR above what they had experience width and by failing to keep expectations reasonable.

A lot of these overhauls are coming with the expansion. Probably so they can pad out the expansion as make it seem bigger. A lot of mods are getting integrated into the base game too

        Anonymous

I can only hope so. The base game needs expansion of a lot of things from quality to immersion and they hopefully have been working on everything from relationships (really, only 1 straight female, one gay female, one straight male, one gay male love interest?) and one's history (Nomad, StreetKid, Corpo ) and a lot of other game systems. I mean, it was kind of obvious that the Meredith character was "almost" a romance, and it seems like she could be worked into a real one, but they didn't let that happen.

In a way I'm just happy that Phantom Liberty didn't happen in some side time period before the end of the base game (there was talk of that which would basically mean that V's situation would be a cliffhanger and all the shit about the space casino would be red herrings) , but there is a lot that CDPR can do to make the base game and the expansion what people wanted from it.

I thought its during Act 3?

            Anonymous

If that's the case that will be a disaster. I thought that was finally debunked and it would happen after the main story entirely, but if they pull some sort of "Oh it doesn't really matter, it is happening in the interim and then you come back for the same old ending of the base game" that will be a major disappointment. It means their hands will be tied with making any changes that will conflict with the end of the base game's content which is just a fricking waste so the stakes won't feel very high nor will questions be answered about after the base game etc.

The trailer shows V and Johnny talking about finding a cure still.

                Anonymous

Right, the way I heard it proposed was that (if done right) this is after the main game and that now (assuming you didn't take a couple of endings that were more final) there's still the question of what will happen to V and/or Johnny with a limited lifespan.

                Anonymous

Sure, but having one DLC story based on one of the specific endings isn't happening

                Anonymous

Well, it doesn't need to be a specific ending necessarily, all of them except 1 (maybe 2 depending though it can kind of go the other way ) of them basically leave the door open with what we said before on the cliffhanger of what will happen to V. That's what most people are waiting to see, what happens after the end of the main game with V. All the various "good" endings for V and even Johnny leave this open, so they can go down this route without an issue to which you picked, except they SHOULD obviously cater to your choices in game for the expansion and/or if they have a "play it without playing the base game first" there can be a Mass Effect style "pick some choices of what happened to your V in the base" to at least get a baseline, though it won't be as comprehensive as importing your save.

I believe a lot developers left, that probably didn't help.

This was always my understanding of what happened
        >be working on an amazing new game with cutting edge custom engine tech
        >like halfway through development almost your entire engineering department just fricks off
        >now you're left with a half finished game built on a semi-broken custom engine that noone knows how to use or fix
        >getting the kinds of people that can actually fix things would both cost a fortune and take years before they get the hang of this massive codebase
        >have neither time or money
So they just ended up throwing together what they could and hoping it was enough. Now they're slowly fixing minor things because they lack the knowledge of how to do actual major overhauls.

      Anonymous

Because the fallout was much worse with CP than with Witcher, which only needed comparatively little extra polish. They did overhaul some things, like the perks, added transmog, but most of the effort that wasn't already being put towards the dlc and other myriad projects theybset up went towards bugfixes.

  3. 11 months ago
    Anonymous

It's just general fixes for quests, how would that save CP? The game has been out for 3 years these things should have been fixed since summer of 2021.

The reality is this game was beyond saving from day one. You can make it look as pretty and run as stable as you want. At its core it's a shell of an RPG game. You know how at the end of Half-Life 2 the GMan says "Instead of giving the illusion of free choice I have taken the liberty of choosing your you". That's this entire game. You'll get like 3 dialogue option that just do the same thing.

It was saved a mere month after it's release and "fixed" with the 1.5 patch a year ago.
Now it's only improvements, the biggest ones coming with the 1.7 patch.

      Anonymous

1.5 barely did anything substantial, don't be dishonest. 1.7 is shaping up the FIRST patch that actually has meaningful changes to the core game, if they keep their word on the changes (lol).

If the game would have been "fixed" with 1.5 as you claimed, they wouldn't be working on a patch that has an A4 pages worth of changes to the literal core systems of the game like the fricking skill trees, loot and cop AI.

            Anonymous

That "patch" is a new addon. Have you even seen the patch notes for any other Witcher 3 expansion? Did you even see how many times they tweaked the Witcher games in their life? CPR are like that. If enough people will say a system is bad they will rework it.
