will UE5 break the market?
one guy can make games which look better than cyberpunk
normies only care about moviesimulatroon games anyway and games will have to fall back on actual mechanics again maybe?

Graphics is a gimmick.
Everybody will get tired of mediocre, albeit super realistic looking indie shooters.
this. People will be disappointed because the realistic bodycam game is a short interactive police story first, and a first person shooter second.
The engine won't be able to make compelling gameplay, pacing, mechanics or anything else that people actually play games for
wut
normies who bought all those reskins of the same playstation exclusive don't give a shit actual gameplay
Because those games are marketed as narrative experiences for normies. I don't think the pc gamers that are buying unrecorded after seeing the flashy shootout trailer are going to be happy
Pretty sure jelly devs were saying the same thing when the original Doom released.
When the original Doom released, jelly devs rushed to make their own Doom clones of varying quality, because they were ACTUAL developers, and not some morons sticking together premade assets and code.
moron, many of those Doomclones ran on ID's engine because John Romero was huge on licensing it out. Half Life 1 literally ran on a modified version of the Quake engine because ID licensed it to Valve.
It doesn't matter whether they licensed or made their own engine, cretin. What matters is that they decided to find a way to make "same thing but better/ours!" instead of b***hing about it.
Your entire point was that:
>because they were ACTUAL developers, and not some morons sticking together premade assets and code
And now that you've realized that you're actually a moron, you've fallen back onto, what, that game developers should make games that are better than others or original? Wow, real thought-provoking, hard-hitting take there.
>implying most of them didn't just license carmack's engine
stop glamorizing the past, zoom zoom
Doom gameplay fricks
all UE5 games run like shit tho? nobody is lining up to buy a $70 game that runs at 20fps on their RTX 4070 ti.
boring game with 0 depth or gameplay value
GOOD MORNING SIRS UNREEL ENGENE GOOD TIM-SAMA SUPERPOOWER STEME BAD DESTROYER DO THE NEEDFUL
>muh graphics
i would rather play q3 or csgo on ultra low textures with shadows off
I'd rather have games with fun enviromental destruction and physics than something that's extremely barebones but pretty to look at
https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.0/en-US/chaos-destruction-in-unreal-engine/
why do you think it's some hard thing to implement? these things were always restricted by computation power, now all bets are off, you don't need some highly convoluted code anymore to run it on your i5 from 2011
can we have another Red Faction Guerrilla style game then? There are no new games that utilize enviromental destruction apart from Teardown, and that one is voxel based
finals is on UE5 and has a lot of destruction
>multiplayer PvP first person shooter
hard pass
the fricking point is that random Black folk on the streets can put better destruction in their games than peak battlefield
the engine is brand new and you mongoloids are seething about an indie FPS demo not being better than half life
no one is seeting except you
>the fricking point is that random Black folk on the streets can put better destruction in their games than peak battlefield
great, are any of them not going to be a GAAS PVP multiplayer slop full of microtransactions? Otherwise I'm not interested
The Finals has really good destructible environments that actually contribute to gameplay instead of just being a gimmick. It's multiplayer slop though
How is there already an Unreal Engine 5? They haven't even made Unreal 3 yet.
Unreal Tournament 3 was a thing. Even had mod support on PS3.
Graphics are a huge meme but thinking about how horror games are gonna look hyper realistic is neat, waiting for that one guy that will use live leak videos as reference for gore heh
That game is trash, and doesn't have gameplay. Mine on the other hand 😉
Make him more bald
all the UE5 games that have released so far are shit and their performance are abysmal
Pseudoregalia is good but also has shit performance. Also a nomods engine on a game ripe for modding
I feel like normies don't even care about vidya anymore, cowadooty era of """''early adoption"""' enthusiasm from mainstream side is done and gone. Normies don't talk about games like they did around ~2010, they're no longer making any noise. If anything, the closest thing to normie tier nowadays would be fun non-AAA you can play with your friends, say something like Valheim, or BG3, or whatever.
And so, I'd imagine that most of the vidya that targets mainstream will be aiming for enjoyable small-scale multiplayer experience. That, fortunately, is something that engine won't provide no matter what, it's all down to a good idea and proper execution. Or at least i hope so, it would be great to have fun games first and nice graphics second.
>he fell for the pretty shader
typical dumb zoomie. If you remove the camera footage shader that shit up the image, game gonna look like half life 2.
>gonna look like half life 2
and wishlisted
U r right saar UE5 very best engine very optimize
