i sure hope so. i love seeing video games crash and burn.
We definitely will eventually but it's going to be more like Inquisition than Origins
According to sources this will be a return to form for bioware.
Bioware had a form?
I can only hope, since inquisition's combat was the peak of the series
The leak looked more like God of War, the recent one.
Yes and it will be utter crap because they can't make good games
You literally cannot make a good game if your studio has more than like 15 people in it
>game series's story gets wrapped up in a novel
big L
Bioware has been dead for a long time.
Remake of the first game? Possibly just so EA can keep a hold of the IP. Entirely new dragon age game? Less likely. It's easier to just remake old games.
Why would EA lose the IP?
The amount seething they must have over Baldur’s Gate 3…
>dur they're going insane
>hurr seething
You people are childish.
There is no reason for them to even care about BG3.
None of their games are coming out for years, if they even come out at all.
Have you not seen devs tweets?
Western devs have been legitimately seething over elden ring, totk, SF6 and BG3
The next monster hunter is probably going to cause the entire AAA industry to collapse, EA bombed hard when they tried making a monhun clone
>EA bombed hard when they tried making a monhun clone
which game is that?
Wild Hearts, which EA only published, was developed by Omega Force
>There is no reason for them to even care about BG3.
how to say you don't know what publisher interference looks like without saying it.
"Bioware doesn't care!", yeah, no shit moron.
but guess who does?
hint: it's the people who payed for Anthem to get made, and their patience has long since run thin
COPE
DILATE
I hope the EA exec responsible for anthem has a heart attack.
The EA execs were the only reason you could have any fun in anthem at all. Bioware was going to cut the flying from anthem, the only good part, before an exec stepped in and mandated it be included. Anthem was all on bioware chasing trends.
Honestly I think it would just be depressing. Like especially if you joined and worked on the original DA:O or even older games. You made these games and they were good then you got bought out and forced to make shit. And BG3 proves there was always a market for the stuff you wanted to make.
Its hilarious how much BG3 reminds me of DA:O and seeing it sell so well.
I cant see Dreadwolf being anywhere near DA:O level. Especially with the amount of red flags in development they have.
Why would they give a shit about BG3? If anything it's a sense of pride since without Bioware making BG2 and it's influence on CRPGs there wouldn't even be a BG3
None of the current BioWare troony devs worked on BG2
BG3 is basically a redo of Dragon Age: Origins except slightly better designed
BG3 is proving that the idiotic direction they went after Dragon Age: Origins was a mistake. They could have continued making proper RPG's instead of going full moron, but noooooo marketing and execs know better than game designers!
For fricks sake start firing all your marketing teams and all your executives they're fricking useless dead weight dragging studios down.
Nobody at Bioware cares anymore. Maybe the suits are pissed but the devs clearly stopped caring over a decade ago.
>Bioware actually made BG1&2
>BG3 is a huge hit utilizing the style of Dragon Age: Origins
>nuBioware seething because they've been making a God of war clone.
Probably also seething because they’ll NBAW
someone needs to come up with some kind of terminology for hollowed out husk developers. saying that the current bioware of 2023 has anything at all to do with BG1&2 feels wrong. like giving italy posthumous credit for shit rome did, or iraq credit for babylon.
It's an EA tradition! I just think 'EA'
Studio of Theseus
My friend links me this idiot's tweets all the time and they're always super moronic
I imagine BG3 has made Bioware panic again because they're years behind the current trend, Dreadwolf looks like a late 2010s hack and slash dumbed down RPG.
But isn’t FF16 a hack and slash?
It flopped
FF16 is underwhelming outside of a few stand out moments but at least it's based on DMC combat which is at least more engaging and satisfying than anything Bioware is going to rip off.
They have seen BG3 and shit themselves.
I really want DA4 to be good, lets hope BG3 gave them the incentive to do a game more like Origins.
Might be too late for them to do that.
They’ll rush to add in shit and end up releasing a fricked up, unfinished games.
that's the wrong lesson to take from this whole thing though lmao
this
BG3 was the wakeup call the industry needed but it's probably too little too late for any "RPG" already in the works aside from Rogue Trader
This, we'll have BG3 inspired games coming out in half a decade or so and AAA rpgs will be a lot better then they were when they were all trying to be skyrims making everything open world with crafting and ubisoft collectables everywhere.
>implying the industry is going to take the right lesson away from this and not just scale back open worlds into levels/stages that are just as deprived of fun and good content as their shitty open worlds were - but now smaller!
>BG3 inspired games
Yes, just like divinity original sin 2
>I really want DA4 to be good
Same, I get more worried as time goes on though
>Will we ever see another Dragon Age game again?
Hopefully not.
I hope not, these EA assclowns raped the ip to death
I miss shitposting about Bioware's new games.
probably, but I cant say I care either way.
I don't understand. A company on the verge of being shut down, it's the pivitol moment they decide on someone who will lead the development on their next project the future of their company depends on.
And instead of deciding on the best, this freak puts his hand up and everyone else is just too afraid of the office culture backlash if they dared to disagree. This indecisiveness and inability to harm anyone's feelings for being told no is why they're fricked. It's what fricked Anthem and it's what fricked Andromeda. The ones with a lick of sense meekly stood quietly and nodded their heads while they wasted 3 years of development trying to get procedurally-generated systems for making randomized planets to work that they ultimately tossed out anyway.
Because seniors are too afraid of telling anybody in their company with a dumb moronic idea "No."
There's no senior dudes left to put in charge all the dragon age OGs like Laidlaw and Gaider are gone
I'm kinda worried that I've never heard about any new young talents making a name for themselves
Chuds seething
That's because they'd rather move to Japan lol.
>Some white guy gets leadership position as Director in Tango
>Some white guy gets leadership position in Platinum
Don't take the above as anything but a joke reply but one has to ponder.
They have to walk on less eggshells as a tiny minority in a japanese company than in a 90% white company
I can't even laugh at that, how utterly depressing.
wew
>the only white guy is the only one making a s0i face
Grim.
Well of course not. AAA slop is a mass market thing created by hundreds of people, not a couple dozen visionaries. The only young up and comers you're going to be hearing about are those making the next breakout indie titles.
Yeah bioware is dead and trannies killed it
Yes, they just add a bear sex after bg3 success
Just get some edgy "bear sex" marketing and it will sell itself to the morons that play games.
>you will watch Bioware die and be completely dissolved in your lifetime
It’s been a trip watching it go from the high highs of the early years to completely crashing and eating shit
Bioware died with the release of the citadel dlc, what exists now is another studio that bears its name only, and the only reason bioware was not shut down after andromeda and anthem, is all ea would have left would be fifa and apex at that point.
It seems like they’re getting steam from the Dead Space remake.
Expect 2 and 3 remake coming out in the next few years.
BG3 is probably the final nail, EA higher ups will see BG3's sales, see that Dragon Age isn't fully copying BG3 and will cancel it.
Why would anyone want another one?
Only the first one was good.
please just put bioware out of its misery and let them rest with the other studios EA killed. It's over anyway.
Hopefully not. University ruined games. There is nothing that isn't ruined by students now.
Bioware was always garbage.
Yes. Progressive values demands propaganda products from time to time. EA can maintain its social score with the diversity quotas on Bioware yet, it's better if you release some sort of agenda driven product (finished or not).
>Will we ever see another Dragon Age game again?
We'll definitely get a game with the name "Dragon Age".
It's not going to feel like a real Dragon Age, though.
They literally just fired all of their senior writing staff, and there's rumors of then seriously looking into AI for shit like handling some of the writing from higher-ups.
Why they do it?
Because they sold SWTOR. They didn't need the skeleton crew anymore.
"Damn look at those guys making millions! You couldn't make this much with a much larger budget when we told you to make Anthem!"
peak irony
They saw what Larian was able to accomplish with only 400 employees and said "frick, our company is bloated to fricking shit" and tried cutting the fat. Bioware has like 800~ employees
Bioware is like 400-500 employees. 100 of which were working on SWTOR before the sell.
Larian isn't a much smaller studio than Bioware. The only real difference is that they're independent, and Bioware is an EA slave.
I sincerely doubt any of the people who worked on DA:O or Baldur's Gate 1/2 were still at Bioware in 2023. If they were, they definitely weren't in any kind of majorly influential position where their talent had an impact on the games they were making.
Who exactly are these "devs" that people keep spouting about, can they at least name them? Long ago the only person that was still around before EA's acquisition of the company was David "fat bald frickwit do nothing" Gaider, and he left in 2016 after all the new guys shuffled him off to the window seat for years. And by 2020 literally nobody who worked at the company before Inquisition was working there anymore, it was 100% just greenies fresh off the boat or college or whatever going through the revolving doors of Bioware's rotting corpse.
Lukas Kristjanson and Mary Kirby
Kinda weird how EA still keeps Bioware around instead of doing their usual thing of immediately canning a studio entirely when they have one (1) failed game even if it's exactly what they asked for as was Westwood's case.
I think they really want Dragon Age out.
But once that comes out and fails…
god I fricking hope not
God I wish this were real
It is real
When's the last time bioware made a good game? Like 15 fricking years ago.
Happened to Bungie too, except in Bungie's case it was a suicide.
All the talented people at these companies are gone. Now it's just nepotistic "diversity" hires who all have to think, act, and look the same or else. Nothing but incompetence everywhere.
That remind me of how NU-Bungie has a literal Onlyfans troony on their team that constantly posts dick pictures on social media and has barely posted anything vidya related at all
>Bullfrog
>Westwood
profound sadness
i hope nubioware goes under. thats what they get for fricking for DAI and DA2 since they moved away from DAO. I hope dreadwolf fails, no one gives a shit about GOW clones.
My question is how long until EA gets bought out by Amazon or Microsoft?
Definitely not Microsoft. I don’t think they’ll be buying another game studio for awhile due to the FTC shit that happened.
>Will we ever see another Dragon Age game again?
god, i hope not. they made one good game in 2009 and have been haunting the world with increasingly aggressive lgbt propaganda ever since.
No, and that is a good thing.
>6 YEARS OLD
>IT JUST KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER AND FUNNIER
Two out of the three B’s are now own by Microsoft and the other one is being slowly killed by EA.
Hopefully not since Bioware fricking sucks hot butt pipe.
Hopefully not. I'm tired of all these sequels.
