Play Master Duel
>Win battle
>In the cut scene they immediately stand up and laugh
>Looks like they're not done yet. What is this power?
>Haha impressive class 7 I almost used 1% of my power, however now you die
>*voice off-screen* I don't think so
>Character from previous game swoops in and saves you
Many such cases.
>Win a very hard almost scripted battle
>+1 BP/DP/AP
>The boss oneshots you in the cutscene
Haha
the fact that cold steel is 4 games of literally just this is hilarious
what a moronic series
>Win battle you're not supposed to win
>It leads to an alternate ending
Or worse
>all you need is to pass your turn to win
>lose by wanting to win by battle
>Lose if I attack and go for the win
>My literal wife calls to me from inside my hand and urges me to sacrifice my guy for a weaker guy
>It works and I win
Many such cases
If you are referring to ishisu Vs Kaiba, she was using millennium magic to see his move in advance the whole game so I’d hardly call bullshit on kaiba getting one freebie.
i see this on Ganker all the time
what yugioh scene is this?
youtube link?
Now start watching from Episode 1.
i watched more yugioh on public tv than you have years on your life
>be an unstoppable force of nature in gameplay
>kill thousands of enemies no problem
>cutscene starts
>you get surrounded by 4 low level enemies
>your character surrenders
god of war ragnarok
>main character is depicted as formidable in all sorts of combat
>fumbles the bag in a cutscene, allowing the villain to escape
Ratchet and clank going commando
>curbstomp boss
>cutscene shows you barely beating him on the brink of death
Frick the entire last hour of bayonetta 3 was this
>Spend lots of resources in an unbeatable boss battle
>Lose
>Cutscene plays and game continues
>Reload from a previous save
>beat up the previous protagonists in a battle
>they go beat up the Final Boss for you and the world is actually saved.
>this is actually the ending with the best results.
>battle is unreasonably difficult and you lose multiple times before you finally master it
>cutscene acts like it was an easy victory
>battle is stupid easy
>cutscene acts like you barely won by the skin of your teeth
People post this narrative all the time, and while it’s cool that Joey could’ve beaten marik, he didn’t. He didn’t get unlucky, and marik didn’t cheat. Marik made a play he was sure would knock Joey unconscious and it did. If using monster reborn on Ra wouldn’t have done this he had other options to keep him in the game
Let’s not forget that Joey was one attack away from losing to Odion, but Marik told him not to for a flex.
You have a better chance convincing me that Mai got cheated out of a Marik win than Joey
What other play did Marik have with Monster Reborn? Even Lava Golem would have killed probably killed him
Bare minimum he could revive the plasma eel in defense position which can’t be destroyed in battle
>look mom im pretending to be moronic on Ganker
>friend helps you beat villain
>Friend backstabs you after defeating villain and becomes the new villain
Literally every Kirby game
Bomberman 64
Portal 2
HE FRICKING WON
Malik wasn't playing to wipe out Jounouchi's Life Points. He was playing to put Jounouchi in a coma. And he succeeded.
Cuz Marik sucks at dueling and can't have any legit wins
>he was just pretending to get owned
in the japanese version marik literally has a panic attack and throws up when he realizes he lost
i dont think any game has done this since Leon in kingdom hearts 1
>main character gets into a fight with some homosexual kid named Karuru and his robot sister
>beat the shit out of the pair with a flawless victory
>homosexual pair scores one hit during the cutscene after, its VN style cutscene so you don't even see what the actual attack is
>main character is on the verge of death, and is literally writing his will out
Not even the stupidest shit that happened in blazblue, but I still hated it
>lose to boss 100 times
>beat him once
>your victory is canon
How do you think the boss feels???
Lufia II
homie you can win the first Gades fight. You even get his sword when you do.
>You barely win against a boss
>Cutscene show the MC beating the boss without effort
Regardless of whether he should have won or not, he was the one with the true heart of the cards all along. He starts from the bottom and learns from each of his wins and losses, upgrades his deck with the cards of those he beats without just replacing it entirely, uses based luckchad strats instead of just cheating which still backfire on him often and he still finds a way to pull through if he can, or does his best even when he's cheated on outrageously. And he even has a banger theme. He's the real protag of the series.
>insect queen
>legendary fisherman
>upgrades
What would be more annoying? Win fight but lose in cutscene, or lose fight and win in cutscene?
