They have the right to profit from an emulator, though, which is why Nintendo came up with the pathetic excuse that they profited more when Zelda leaked, i.e. that they were indirectly benefiting from piracy, which is ridiculous, imagine suing Amazon because more people bought a Kindle when your book leaked ahead of time, but it's Nintendo, they manage to make this kind of shit work in court somehow, and everyone is scared to death of standing up to them.
Devs were smooth brained and bragged about pirating Nintendo Switch games in their Discord, and teaching people how to get a "copyrighted" key.
The Yuzu devs openly supported and advertised ToTK compatibility when it leaked early, when the ONLY way to play the game was piracy. Supporting pre-retail gameplay is supporting piracy. It's a legitimate argument and the Yuzu devs are moronic.
Notice how Ryujinx only advertises release day compatibility. What they are advertising is the technical competency of their emulator. They are not moronic.

dual booting is not a real option. if it was it would have worked for windows on mac and solidified x86 macs, but this feature was shortly forgotten, left behind by apple silicon and nobody cared when it happened, because nobody dual boots after the first time they had to do it in the middle of something else.
not a single real person thinks that restarting their PC to run that one legacy app is a solution for compatibility. the common user will keep 100 browser tabs open rather than face the possibility of having to browse to the same page again. now scale the inconvenience by a hundredfold and even the most pro user is going to take issue with it. either you value the new software over the legacy stuff or vice versa. if you have the space, you can get a second PC, or if you have the extra performance, you can use a VM, and just keep everything running at the same time, but nobody is going to dual boot, that is not how PCs work and never will, and you're a fool for thinking otherwise.

I started using Linux on a spare pc I put in the bedroom for streaming. Then I got steam on it for my wife to play elden ring and little nightmares.
Once 10 goes end of service, I'll likely just swap over to Linux now that I'm comfortable with it.
