Nasu kino.
Nasu kino.
>Witch on the Holy Night
>Kara no Kyoukai
>Tsukihime + KT
>Fate/stay night + hollow ataraxia
>DDD
>Tsuki no Sango
>Fate/EXTRA + CCC
>Tsukihime Remake
>all trash
Nasu Kuso.
The most kino part of Saber scene is that the one you see in prologue is Archer pov
Wait what
Not exact prologue but the first scene at start. The Shirou's face in this CG in shadows. This was an Archer. Shirou's reaction is different too. Small detail.
Damn I need to replay the games and pay more attention to see if theres any other stuff I missed
>The most kino part of Saber scene is that the one you see in prologue is Archer pov
Archer was heavily inspired by Knives, and Shirou is a (very loose) Vash copy. Nasu said Trigun is his favorite manga in an interview (which explains some of the themes in the story) and Takeuchi said its one of his inspirations which explains why the visual novel art is similar to Trigun's, especially in the comedic moments.
Don’t forget Melty Blood Re-Act, AACC, and Notes.
add Plus+Disc and at least the OG Melty Blood story
Plus+Disc has Shiki sprites and a nice little story with Seo Akira, and TATARI lore is legit awesome, Melty's original story as a full VN would make me cum to death, especially if it's done in TsukiRe universe
I wanna frick Reines so hard.
Cool I guess. If this was 10 years ago, I would of been pretty hype. But after all these years of fate garbage and the recent Tsukihime demake and terrible Melty Blood reboot, I lost a lot of interest in Type-Moon.
At least be glad that those Hollow Moon trannies got dabbed on by fricking Type-Moon itself.
Hollow Moon's translation is unironically more accurate. I've seen some comparison screenshots between what they have shown, and the official translation is abysmal.
Are you thinking of the shot with Alice dozing off leaning against the pillar?
Yes, that one. Also
>Soujyuro Sizuki
Unironically worse than Altria Pendragon
I've seen that sort of transcription in the Monogatari novels, too, like, Senjougahara used to be "Senjyougahara".
This is unironically how Japanese people write romaji for those characters if you're gonna be a mega autist about it just learn Japanese already morons
homie, there are several romanization systems and the most widely used ones are not even remotely accurate to the sounds
I stopped caring about this like 5 years ago. I'll probably just pirate it when I'm finished with banging summer.
Same here. As I got a bit older I kinda lost interest in the franchise.
Someone tell Nintendo to market this so it does well and we get tsukihime
I'm ready for more Nasu
Still importing my copy.
It will probably be a digital-only release in the west anyway.
>It will probably be a digital-only release in the west anyway.
Dispicable if so. If Hakuoki, Root Letter/Film, SciAdv, ZE, etc. etc. can get western physical releases then so can something from fricking Type Moon.
Never underestimate their laziness and the spite TM has for its western fans. It took them until now to fricking translate a main VN despite an official, well-done Tsukihime or F/SN translation being practically free money given how they are some of the most popular visual novels in the west.
Plus it's the shortest VN in their library by far, meaning it's the cheapest overall to localize.
People are speculating that if it does well in the west we'll get an official Tsukihime remake translation, too, but I'm not so sure. I think I'd rather have them do an official translation of the KnK light novels, if I had my way.
>Tsukihime remake
Did they finish up that remake or is it still in early access?
Only the first half is out still.
Only the near side (Arc & Ciel) is out officially. The fan translation of Arc's route is coming out this month.
They mentioned having materials for Mahoyo and opening up pre-orders so I’d expect a physical release.
what the frick is wrong with nasu
anyway, good to see some shit from type-moon, dead as it is
>no comparison of the pillar to a tree trunk, which is supposed to further the comparison between the manor and a natural environment
Both of these are fine, considering the fricking ridiculous amount of time HM have spent on it it'd be a miracle if theirs WASN'T a bit smoother somehow. You still shouldn't support their TL on principle.
>the sway of the air within the room was stifled
You're really shilling this gibberish
So where's the raw japanese so someone that speaks it can call out whats wrong with each of them? Yeah they are different but they're also extremely close other than Hollow sticking more to preserving Nasu's flowery language style.
>people complain about hollow moon moving at a snail's pace
>Type-Moon announces a localization and completely BTFO's hollow moon
>everyone laughs at their expense when they claim that they will keep working on the translation regardless
>official translation gets revealed
>it's worse
the ultimate monkeypaw
At least the official guys are translating from the japanese text and not the french translation lmao
afaik HM is doing FR -> EN, and then someone who can speak nip quality checks it against the JP script
a bit ass backwards but i think they're doing it because they have more french speakers, some of the people who worked the french translation are on the team as well
If we're going to be reposting /jp/ then I guess I';; add this
>The first half of Hollow Moon is better. The second half of the official TL is better. I'll call it a draw.
I wanted people to make their own judgments, but yeah, I stole the pics shamelessly from /tmg/.
Fan translation flows better overall and is better English. I don't know what it was like in the original since I don't care about JP. Maybe it really does read as autistic and stiff as the 'official' translation.
I just posted them for comparison's sake, I didn't post them to dunk on the official TL.
These are basically conveying exactly the same with different words, not sure what are they supposed to prove.
Yikes.
FRICK YOU NASU
this is exactly what the waito piggu deserve
>Maflopyo
Nobody gives a shit including the Japanese about this failed story
Uhh…yeah bro totally!!
It's just ufotablegays fluffing it up. They love crappy CGI.
Holy cope
How'd the VN sell again? rofl

VNchads keep winning
This look much better than cringemasa and its preachy bullshit.
It definitely is. Considering I've already played Mahoyo (which is great btw), I'm more excited for this tbf
PC Port?
Nasu wants you to enjoy Mahoyo on a big TV screen.
Yuzu will run it day 1
not Aoko
I will cry about it
This is her teenage self so duh she’s different.
It's a different character in every way. I will not support Koyama's waifu in replacing Aoko
Drown in copium and die.
Koyama didn't have jack shit of a say in what Aoko is like outside of benign design stuff, her core character is the same.
do you really need drip tho when you have hair like that?
she looks great. You guys are nuts.
She looks like she bought the cheapest pieces at the bargain bin on Wall Mart; Aoko is as a dripless as it gets, her Mahoyo look should have become her main one in her older years, then casuals wouldn’t have started this "Melty has no drip" meme.
I think she will live.
The new one looks better tbh.
Its the only non-fate content that is in English outside melty. I'll support it.
>Mahoyo thread is more alive in Ganker than in Ganker
Dark times bros...
I learned the director of Mahoyo, they guy who directed one of the best fight scenes in Fate and the author of funny chibis isn't in company anymore.
Ganker went to the dogs the moment battle shounen threads were not only allowed but took up the majority of the board. /snk/ and their ilk run the show now, yet some delusional oldies still maintain their elitism compared to other boards. It's sad to see.
>were not only allowed but took up the majority of the board
It's not the issue because Ganker is full of dead threads. Like Mahoyo. The board is slow as frick.
Which fight scene did he direct? Saber vs Archer on the bridge in Ataxia?
Nasu is the director for the VN's, Monji is the scripter and he did all of the fights in F/HA. Left after Mahoyo due to not wanting to work on the gacha forever and went to work on another VN. At least he's making stuff even if it's kusoge.
>went to work on another VN
What VN?
this post goes into more depth
Here's the VN: https://vndb.org/v22499
I remember this trainwreck. But are you sure? There is no any source of him working on this
Taken from /tmg/
>Yes. That one. Its speculated that person who made the script is Tsukuri Monoji going under a new pseudoynm. Heck in the developer interview when asked about where the Scripter learned how to do this. He pretty much said "thats private information".
Also this unmistakably him. No one in the industry besides him even knows how to do this
>Oh people found Tsukuri Monoji. Or at least presumedly him. He was working on a Kusoge called Deep One. Or presumedly. Cause the scripter for that game is using the same technique as Tsukuri Monoji and thats basically his trade secret. And looks awfully lot like Mahoyo in action
Now it makes sense. I hope he will comeback for Mahoyo sequel in 2050
>Cringemasa
Yikes. Don't you have Naruto threads to post in?
I can't believe that cuckshit like this is now babby's first VN.
this
sorry dawg masacringe
have a nice day shitter and get some taste in your next life
I don't see what's so special/great about this "animation"? Looks like your bog standard no budget game OP animation such as various Ys games and whatnot.
I mean that's why people called it a kusoge. This is what he's more famous for: https://youtu.be/MEVJp7k_ijA
Genuinely not seeing the difference. Unanimated character with swirly lights and such to try and distract you from the fact the character ain't moving.
If you don’t think the direction, production, art, seamless transitions and small uses of animation than you may just want to watch an anime since this is still groundbreaking for traditional VN’s how masterful that scene is. Compare this to any standard VN like Doki Doki Literature club to get what I mean. Or even an action VN like Rewrite to understand how impressive this is.
> Compare this to any standard VN like Doki Doki Literature club
homie ddlc was literally made by one dude with no prior experience for no budget in his spare time as a 4 hour gimmick game. It’s absolutely not a standard VN.
>groundbreaking for traditional VN’s
>traditional
That's just a crutch. TM essentially has unlimited money and connections with many animatiors/studios. There is so much more they could do given a.) there are numerous actual games with 2d anime/animation incorporated into their gameplay and b.) its a fricking VN so they don't even need to workout how it fits into the gameplay!
They already did that with Melty Blood: Re-Act which is the perfect blend of a visual novel story with gameplay in it.
Eh. You say that but I kinda find Melty Blood's plot to be nothing special. Like it's sort of a lesser version of the Arcueid's route and with a much stronger final boss.
Whats special is how they're doing the animation with vn assets in the engine instead of drawing an actual animation.
That post isn't in the archives.
Doesn't add up. Mahoyo was released in 2012 and FGO didn't went into production until 2014. It means that he left for other reasons.
Don't know when he left, but he probably just wanted to move or didn't like the direction the company was going in since they started working on FGO in 2013.
Maybe he's freelance.
Yes. He probably did some in FSN too.
The bridge fight was so fricking kino, oh my god.
hell yeah it is. https://youtu.be/U7n0e5XMV-Y
Somehow it feels right that Mahoyo is the first VN they've released in English. Here's hoping Far Side is next provided it isn't butchered in the remake.
>Red Garden is released simultaneously in JP and ENG
I'd cum in my pants.
That it's incredibly dumb that they first showed it off at the end of a fricking unrelated gacha game's anniversary event
Albert is one of the reasons why it's happening since it's a project that he's been wanting to happen for a long time. FGO is also a big thing to promote stuff with. Might as well use the gacha pigs and have them buy Mahoyo or talk about it at least.
Same company, different series; they showed it off to a gacha game crowd after all, so if you don't make it immediately linked to the gacha at their hands, yhey would not mind it that much.
The crowd went wilder for announcing stuff the Internet already knows about since 2 years ago than a brand-new console VN localization, and why is that? Because TM fans playing FGO are a sub-group of those who play FGO, not a 1:1 identity.
It doesn't really matter. Some of them may be interested in it as the Grand Order subreddit talks about Mahoyo and the friends they talk to may talk to them about Mahoyo. Any advertising is fine and there were cheers for it so whatever. It's not going to sell well regardless due to it being niche to the rest of the world. As long as it sells better than most VN releases it'll be fine.
That's precisely it, Mahoyo/general VN would come to care about it by word-of-mouth awareness, not people gambling on pngs. Take the "Every publicity is good publicity" banner all you like, but people there would have definitely creamed their jeans harder if stuff like an early pity system adoprion from the JP server was revealed instead, don't deny it
well no shit since everyone there is there for FGO. If that's the point you're trying to prove then sure. If you're going to go for another dunk on Mahoyo's unpopularity then save your breath. We'll see how it sells in Japan. The movie will also massive increase it's already sizeable fanbase in Japan so it's a futile discussion for now.
I don't want to throw shade at it, just pointing out that marketing it firsthand to gachagays was not that smart of a move if you already did not give them an excuse to care about their portable casino at hands. Only inherent thing I'm dissing the game for is no PC port because the Mushroom Man said so for Tsukihime beforehand, so hopefully it gets traction to the intended audience despite the console-exclusivity shtick.
It's typemoon related.
It'll probably eventually get a FGO collab.
Why can't translators use some non-default font? This VN and persona 5 comes to mind, where the JPN font looks really aesthetic but the ENG translation looks like generic shit.
Default font is soulful.
>Newton fond is so small I can't see shit
> reading a VN exclusive about dirty M*gus
I fricking hate mages. I fricking hope Faldeus and his CIA Glowies kill every single one of these subhuman swine.
Keep seething.
no one knows who this loser is kek. Get dabbed on by the fifth Magician.
>Am*rican
Back to the bush lands with you gun touting homosexual
Who will kill Faldeus?
I think it will be the bro team.
Cops are kino but they're gonna be to busy jobbing to Ishtar and Type-flat to hunt Faldeus down. Especially since he’s already getting the frick out of dodge. The only one’s I could see killing him is True assassin or Francesca/Francesco. Maybe sigma will hunt him down in the epilogue or something. I personally hope he gets away with everything tbh.
Why is Touko such a bawd?
that's just an edit, right?
no
w-why is she so sexually forward then
she's a magus, so she's smart with doing business deals and manipulating people like a femme fatale. I doubt she'd actually frick him, but in order to trick men and women into doing her bidding she does everything she can in order to convince people. Using her sex appeal is a smart way to do it.
But you'd think she'd just use a charm spell, suggestion, or something like that. Fate Zero suggested that brainwashing magic is a really basic type of magic in the Nasuverse, especially against non-magus normies with no wards or defenses of any sort
They're in Alice's mansion so any use of magic would probably alert Alice about what's going on. Also, I believe Souji has some wards against magic placed on him due to being a VIP in the mansion
I haven't known about those since I haven't read the VN myself either as a filthy EOP, but considering how meticulous most magi are about the defense of their domain it makes sense that as powerful a magi as Touko is, she couldn't pull it off right under Alice's nose. Is the ward on Souji to prevent having his mind read or getting him puppet'd, like Caster does to Shirou in FSN?
Alice uses unique witchcraft that is hard for even Touko to breach. The ward is against any mental spells like charm spells.
Do you think she just wanted to mess with Aoko by proxy, by suggesting something so outrageous, or did she genuinely see potential in him to become an associate of hers? I know he's actually a Kuzuki-esque fighter, but still.
a mix of both I assume. She does genuenly tell Beo to stop him from attacking Souji so she cares about him. It's probably more of her taking what Aoko owns at the end of the day.
Aoko is the most boring protagonist.
>AAAAAAAIIIIIEEEEEE OJI-CHAN TOUKO IS BULLYING ME AGAIN WITH HER SUPERIOR TALENT AND WORK ETHIC CAN YOU GIVE ME THE SUPER UNIVERSE HACKS NOW?
>Heh. Nice try, Touko. You never stood a chance against me.
get off the internet, Touko. You'll always be the second most popular Aozaki.
So Aoko vs. Touko is literally a Gaara vs. Rock Lee sort of deal?
not really? I don't know why you mentioned that.
Sisters always have issues in TM stories. This your first rodeo?
Probably Nasu projecting his own older sisters now that I think about it.
Yeah, sure. Touko has basically worked her ass off all her life to master her own branch of magecraft to the fullest extent, and even beyond that, to the point she's considered A Big Deal while her magecraft should be mildling, at best. She's a genius and a workaholic and managed to claw her own way from mediocrity through sheer grit and willpower and work and more work.
But who cares because Aoko got the Mangekyô Sharingan anyway.
That's not even just an mango it'sa whole rinnegan for the setting. She can warp reality and dictate when something happens. The whole "Uhmm.. ressurection is literally impossible in this universe... so i just throw the point of his death into the future, that's not resurrection lol" is peak nasu moronation.
My headcanon is that Touko saw Aoko's Shiki and thus found a cooler Shiki to one up Aoko.
>Shiki
>Shiki
>Shirou
>Shizuki
>Arc
>Artoria
>Alice & Aoko
What's Alice thinking about?
>Sigma
>Assassin
Who?
Do you mean Altria?
Am i the only one who wants Alice to be in Type Lumina?
nope. There are many of us.
I want
>Kiritsugu
>Sigurd
>femshiki
> tsukihimeverse kiritsugu who never even tried to be a hero and just wants to kill vampires
Words can not describe how kino this would be and how much I want it.
What I like about Kerry is that he's designed to be the standard "Vampire slayer" or "Witch Hunter" from most media but put in the 90's.
>trench coat
>cursed bullets
>uses traps and poisons
Butcher did a lot with the 1 image of Kerry that was in the VN lmao
I completely forgot that he had a face in Stay Night. I only remember seeing him from behind.
You now remember that Bedivere was in FSN.
I actually remember him. How could I forget the end of the Fate route?
He looked way better in FSN is as well.
Who?
And he was voiced like a girl for some reason
Only FGO trannies would forget the most kino appearance of this character due to later gacha shit.
Butcher is fan of such stuff. Also the inspiration was clearly old fishy action movie I can't remember the title . The main villain was exactly like Kiri and his main weapon was Contender.
Holy shit that makes so much sense.
Jesus, I couldn't imagine more of a wet fart character than that man baby. At least add in EMIYA due to his connection with Ciel.
EMYIA/Shirou couldn't even fricking exist considering the grail wars never happened and are fundamentally impossible.
Also hating Kerry is pure midwit territory. He’s an edgy man child and that’s what makes him great.
that rule doesn't matter since Saber is in Lumina so anyone can be added at this rate. Also, I don't want any of these characters, just add more Melty characters and wait for a new Fate fighting game that's never happening kek.
>King Arthur didn't exist in Tsuki timelines
Saber is explicitly mentioned to not have been summoned via ritual in lumina, because servant summoning is impossible in tsukihime timelines.
then you can use the same excuse for EMIYA. Imagine thinking that Nasu gives a frick about lore consistency like you nerds do. He breaks rules all the time for a quick buck. FGO is proof of that. If he wants another Fate Servant in the game then he'll add one.
EMIYA is an inconsistent non-character.
Kinotsugu is an interesting, morally gray antihero.
It's not even a competition.
it seems like you're in the wrong thread. I'm sure there's a Fate/Zero thread on Ganker. This is a Mahoyo thread, sir.
lmao, I love the bitter inferiority complex some Type-Moon posters will forever have towards Fate/Zero.
Like, if you praise any part of Fate/Zero they won't even have a rebuttal, they'll just cry about Fate/Zero's popularity.
Why is Fate/Zero so divisive?
I think it's because Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night attract two very different kinds of people, and the fact that Zero despite being a 'spinoff' but is more acclaimed by normalgay anime fans, leads to a lot of unjustified resentment towards it.
Reminder that Zero LNs being a juggernaut is what lead to FGO being produced
>Iwakami: It started off with Aniplex working with Type-Moon to bring Fate to anime form with Fate/Zero. And not just the Fate series. In 2007, we did The Garden of Sinners movies. After we were done with Fate/Zero, we were talking with Takeshi Takeuchi of Type-Moon about a new way to develop Fate, and a smartphone game was one of the ideas that we came up with. So Type-Moon started working on Fate/Grand Order as one of the official numbered titles in the Fate series.
>Takeuchi: Many anime studios wanted to make Fate/Zero into an anime, but as far as actually doing that, I couldn't feel very excited about the idea. It was a story that came into being out of the love and respect that Urobuchi-san had for Fate/stay night, and was designed to deepen the enjoyment a reader could get out of Fate. Adapting it into an anime might mean stepping on that love, and I didn't want to make something that didn't capture the feeling of the original novels.
>Nasu: Many anime fans want there to be a lot of cute bishoujo characters in the work, and while they work hard to meet those needs, Iwakami, an important producer at Aniplex, wasn't satisfied just by doing that. I suggested that he tackle Fate/Zero, a dark and serious story full of raw emotion. He had the resolve, and that's how they ended up adapting Fate/Zero.
Context for this: Iwakami turned down to adapt FSN because he didn't want to adapt a bishoujo harem series, so Nasu proposed Zero. Nasu gave Iwakami the F/Z LN which convinced him to pick him up as the writer for Madoka, he had to channel his old edge because that's what Iwakami asked for. You'll notice UBW was changed to follow Zero mood too, with all Saber's waifu scenes modified and portrayed as Shirou's surrogate "mom"
Saber had waifu scenes in UBW?
It was cool to like F/Z before anime. Kids want to feel themselves special. Plus all those "secondaries" constantly shit talk FSN. The same deal with Tsukihime.

I miss Kayneth posting. Does anyone have full version of picrelated?
Emiya's connection with Ciel was mostly just something Nasu made up on the spot and at the end he said "Wouldn't that be nice?" It was never actually serious. You guys need to stop taking literally everything he says at face value. He will lie on a whim without the slightest hesitation.
Archer also references Ciel in F/HA, newbie. That's probably not something you knew since you haven't played it.
>He
Nasu is a woman.
Dogshit writing, cultist JSLs correcting non-1:1 literal translations. In conclusion, neck yourselves, all of you. Not video games.
type-moon is just mcu for weebs
>no h-scenes
Why should I bother?
Plenty of Kinoge has no porn.
This looks cool, I haven't read any VNs in a while. Is it a standalone thing or is it connected to Fate or Tsukihime somehow?
I like magi in the nasuverse. I always though that part of the universe was mostly sidelined in favor of servants and shit.
Aoko is Shiki's ara are neesan gf, so it's somewhat implied to be the Tsuki timeline.
But Touko is more active in the Fate timelines, so who the frick knows.
Honestly Nasu's timeline homosexualry exists solely to make sure no single route of any of his VNs is canon over the others.
>he doesn't know his Arthurian legend
Pathetic.
>Pathetic
STFU newbie, I've read the Fate visual novel, watched every F/SN and /Zero anime as well as Prillya.
If he's not appearing in there he is literally nonexistent in the Fateverse.
>if he didn't appear in FSN.
Hey, moron.
The first image is literally taken from FSN.
That scene is Sir Bedivere witnessing the death of King Arthur, which you would know if you knew your fricking Arthur and/or read FSN
Yeah I know homosexual. I'm talking about other appearances.
Oh, so this came way before everything else? That's cool. Thank you lads, for what it's worth, I did enjoy my time with F/SN back in the day and this does seem like it would be my kind of jam too.
Yes and no. The Visual Novel itself is actually one of their newest releases of a unique product, but the story notes and basis were some of the first material ever produced by TM in their early days. It just didn't get realized until a lot later. It's their prettiest VN apart from I guess Tsuki remake.
Also I should point out when I say newest I mean it was still like 10 years ago because TM haven't done shit outside of anime adaptations and FGO for a while.
I'd count TsukiR as a new thing given it was completely remade and the story is vastly different in Ciel's route.
I guess, but it's still also a remake of a lot of material anyway. It's definitely not 100% new. Either way though the underlying point is the same, it's among their newest works (particularly, done by the actual main studio brains and not some licensed spinoff) despite being a fair bit older.
If I didn't read Tsukihime back in the day, is the remake a good way to get into it? I think it wasn't received very well but I don't know exactly why...
You've probably spent too much time on here if you think that. TsukiR is great. The Arc route is getting an English TL on July 16th so you picked a great time to want to read it. https://youtu.be/Ms-3FVSH7t8
>2/5 routes
>that'll be $70 plus tip
lmao
Oh. It's not finished? That's a big shame.
I hate to tell you anon, but this game isn't finished either. Mahoyo was planned to be a trilogy. It does wrap up, but not fully wrap up.
It's around 50-60 hours so it's worth the money. Also way better than the old game.
Where are you buying it that you're tipping?
Are you fricking moronic?
>he doesn't tip the clerk at gamestop
Enjoy your stolen DLC code
That image is the most relatable thing I've read in awhile.
It's the best story about magi and talking about magic in general. It'll be your jam if that's the case. Also no servant shit in this game or any other dumb Fate thing.
>Is it a standalone thing or is it connected to Fate or Tsukihime somehow?
More or less. It's the earliest VN in the Nasuverse in a chronological sense (it's set in the late 80s). It's also the earliest novel Nasu came up with to my knowledge, even before Kara no Kyoukai, it just ended up being the latest to be released. The Aozaki sisters appear in other main titles as well but that's probably the full extent of Mahoyo's connection to KnK and the other VNs.
From what I've heard, you are good to go if you want to jump into the Nasuverse with this VN.
No joke, the only reason TYPE-MOON exists is because Takeuchi took Nasu aside, told him "Stop wasting your talents and write a proper novel. I'll support you." First actual Nasuverse work was Mahoyo in 1996, Takeuchi even had concept art done in 1997 as the first official piece of media related to Nasu's later works. So they started a website together on which Nasu started his webnovel "Kara no Kyoukai". But the site wasn't getting much traffic, so Takeuchi said "let's make a VN as advertisement fo KnK". So they moved in together and Takeuchi had Nasu write full time while Takeuchi would work to support them both, while in the evenings he'd work on the art. The only qualification that Takeuchi enforced for inducting members into their circle was being able to get along well with Nasu. And then he turned TYPE-MOON into a full legal company purely as a vehicle for Nasu to write more novels.
Tsukihime was released during the 1999 summer Comiket, where only 300 copies were distributed (for free, on 3.5 floppy disks).
F/SN was the first work Type Moon released as a company rather than as a doujin work, which attracted an entirely new audience. Type Moon's original plan was for a two-part release with only first part being named Fate/Stay Night. This part was supposed to include only the Saber and Rin routes and was the "Near side" of the Fate story. The second part would have been released later under title "Fate/Other Night" and was supposed to include Sakura's and Illya's routes, essentially being the "Far Side" of Fate. Simply put HF as you know it today is mixture of original Sakura's and Illya's routes. He recycled the scenes he had written for FHA. They wanted to reuse the structure Tsukihime had.
F/SN was to Tsukihime what FGO is to F/SN. Shirou's story wasn't even in his head when he thought fate, he just wanted King Arthur seeking the Holy Grail and making him fight other heroes.
Everything in Type Moon is loosely connected to everything else. You'll like Mahoyo if that's where your interest is because it deals a lot less with servants and moon vampire bullshit.
ALICE!!!!!!!
Imagine depending on translations in 2022... you have my sympathy.
>learn this weeb language from some backwater country on the edge of the map famous for losing every war it ever fought against anyone but itself so you can watch their cartoons with marginally increased efficiency!
Nobody is telling you to do anything schizo. Also, the japs won against the russians schizo-kun.
Fate ruining another Type Moon/Mahoyo thread. It'd be funny is it wasn't so depressing.
Aoko sex
post Aoko sex to save the thread.
Aoko sex is cool, but have you considered sex with Aoko instead?
Alice is not for sexual.
what about Alice sex?
Ignoring FGO. Fate is better and more interesting than tsukihime/mahoyo. You know it’s true.
That's a nice opinion you have. It doesn't mean anything to me, but thanks for sharing.
You should also ignore Extra.
The only Fate
>Zero > Waver case files > the ambiguous new FSN scenario > Waver Adventures > Strange Fake
This timeline homosexualry always bothered me.
Is there any real reason there can't be a single continuity?
The only things that can't coexist are multiple routes of the same story.
Nasu likes the idea of multiple world governed by different and conflicting laws, but still being part of the same fabric. And he always had an interest in parallel timelines. The concept of Kaleidoscope existed since as far back as Kagetsu Tohya.
>he
See
I figured he wanted it to be an SMT-esque thing where the multiverse idea allows him to do whatever he wants without being chained by continuity yet not making everything feel inconsequential either.
Nasu’s just a lazy gay who didn’t want to put in the work to have one single cohesive TM timeline so he can just tell his isolated stories without having to think about continuity.
One timeline can work and it would be kino. See pic related.
Nasu doesn't care about lore consistency or one timeline like his fans want him to. It's pretty common in Japan to just do whatever you want for the hell of it. So don't worry about it since it doesn't matter.
Aoko sucks post Best Red Touko
a Touko is fine too.
Damn I remember being really into Fate back in 2013/14 and thinking "Oh I'm sure fans will translate this soon" fast forward almost a decade and only now it's getting translated. Fate grew a lot since then and I don't feel like jumping in again so frick it.
I'M GOING TO ALICE
...going to what?
To Alice
>PRELATI could be here... I've never been to this thread before, there could be PRELATI anywhere...
Only a true dork at heart could try as hard as her to be cool.
> Francesca couldn’t troll Giles during the 4th war because Touko was killing her on cooldown.
Thank you for this 10/10 lore Narita.
Well, that, and Francesca isn't a thing in Fate/Zero. I mean honestly, Fate/strange fake isn't actually canon to Fate/Zero, you know that, right? It's all just stuff Narita made up and Nasu mostly ignores.
Strange/Fake is the only canon timeline.
Touko is a goddness.
It's unbelievable no-one can top TM's Gilgamesh, the design is just a 10/10.
Seriously, why do nips keep doing this?
It's not even something Nasu did to spite gaijin, he did the same thing with the title for SIN in FGO (which hilariously enough made even nips think it was supposed to be the word 'sin' and not Shin/Qin").
Playing Dark Souls and seeing a male character named Artorias get insanely popular broke him, and he has been on a warpath of localization and romanization ever since.
This is the most lewd Nasuverse scene, prove me wrong.
aight I know you wanted me to post this so here you go, I'm sure another anon will be by with your daily dose of Prillya soon too
It's fine.
I have the hard counter to Prillya posters.
Guys stop spamming FGO and FSN shit, this is a Mahoyo thread.
I'll frick you, I'm warning you.
sex a la aoko
They already have a thread for all the Fateshit on here
yet they keep coming here.
How greedy can they be?
imagine snuggling up to those sweater puppies.
Guess I should buy it, if only to encourage TM to do something else than Fate fanservice all the time
I hope us continental euros will get it too in some physical edition (if the west will get a physical release at all), I don't want to fricking import from the UK and pay out the ass for it.
there's no way that Europe will get a physical release when we don't even know if NA will get one.
If NA doesn't get a collector edition with an Aoko statue I'll personally rape the next person to post Aoko.
I'd be surprised if they have the collector edition with the Aoko crystal statue. It very much seems like a budget test project to see if anyone would buy a TM VN.
My bad, it's pretty late so I misread it, Aokobro.
Aoko's foot looks like an amputated stump there.
Shinji really messed up her foot. He's a foot guy, apparently.
She's wearing pink socks.
Well yeah, but I can't even make out the shape of her foot.
She's holding the middle of her foot, and only her toes are visible. Doesn't look weird at all
>collector edition with the Aoko crystal statue
Can you post this? The Aoko statue I mean. I can't find it from these terms so far.
they haven't made it yet. Think I got confused with the crystal stand they made for the Tsukihime characters. It may not be made for Mahoyo.
http://typemoon.com/products/mahoyo/product/
That's why I said "if the west will get a physical release at all".
Doesn't TM partner with Sony these days? I'd struggle to name a game that released in the US but not in EU, so I think there are no worries there.
The publisher is Aniplex which is a branch of Sony so pretty much. It doesn't seem like it'll be a big project since Emiya Gohan, the last game TM game Aniplex published on here was only released digitally.
But even if it is just a test project Mahoyo is magnitudes bigger a project than a Fate cooking game.
I wouldn't compare some neverheard joke title to a serious passion project like Mahoyo. The sales expectations are in completely different dimensions and the release format should reflect on that
Not this anon but I also think that a lack of physical release sends the message that you are not really confident in your release, or consider yourself small fry. Like if this is your debut in the western market, you gotta swing your dick around a bit to not make yourself seem cheaper than you want to look, don't market yourself like those dime a dozen low budget ecchi games that get imported.
Even now, I don't think Nasu is entire cognizant of the fact that Fate is actually pretty popular overseas. I think it was last year when he said that he was really surprised when he saw overseas fans cosplaying as Fate characters.
I somehow get the feeling that Nasu just doesn't really pay attention to any of the business reports. Like I don't think he's aware of what the revenue for any of his company's products are.
I don't get it, either, they obviously see how well all sorts of japanese-made games sell in the west, so it can't be "oh, they won't like it" or anything of that sort. Maybe the memes are true and Nasu actually despises the west lol.
I dunno. Like I said, based on his surprise at western cosplayers, I think he's actually ignorant.
TM is known to be traditional and conservative. They still try to follow the old indie/doujin circle thing if only having 10+ employees at TM and not expanding the main dev branch. They aren’t like Cygames who are expanding and making big games and new stuff. I’m sure Nasu knows the writing is on the wall for new stuff to work on as he follows the games industry by playing Genshin Impact, the new Horizon game, and Elden Ring. He’s talked about wanting to make an open world Tsukihime game so they must be gearing up for big announcements. I think they’ll announce something since it’s TM’s 20th anniversary this year. COVID may have also delayed their plane like with Extra remake.
>open world Tsukihime game
what?
He talked about wanting to make a sequel to Tsukihime that’s open world instead of a traditional VN. It’s clear he doesn’t want to work on VN’s for the rest of his life.
He's a writer but his thing is that he really fricking loves video games. From my own recollection, he's played The Tower of Druaga and all the major FromSoft games from Demon's Souls to Elden Ring. He fricking LOVES FromSoft, and he fricking loves Elden Ring. I'm not really sure what else he's played though, but he's always been a diehard vidyagay. That's why he seems to be relatively passionate about turning some of his IPs into proper video game franchises.
somebody get Nasu a copy of a Yakuza game
Good idea. Sending him Yakuza 7 right now.
blessed anon
>open world Tsukihime game
What? Tsukihime's the last IP I'd think would work with that idea. Maybe EXTRA.
It seems easy enough with a game that follows Shiki as he looks for Arc after Arc’s route. Or it could be a spin-off game that follows Ciel and her hunting monsters. Tsukihime is a pretty expansive IP to work on as Shiki doesn’t have to be the MC since the plans for Tsuki 2 early would follow Enhance and fighting vampires in general.
> Tsukihime's the last IP I'd think would work with that idea. Maybe EXTRA.
I like to imagine it as gta clone set in some generic not Tokyo city.
> 4/122 dead apostle hideouts cleared
> Shiki it’s your sister, let’s go bowling
> Shiki it’s your sister, let’s go bowling
H-scenes after you max them out or frick outta here with the GTA shit.
An open-world game that takes place in a modern urban city environment is probably the most complex and most expensive kind of open world game you could possibly make. Not everyone has the infrastructure to make GTA5.
Think that anon is joking. I was think of a smaller game like Nioh or Dark Souls.
thinking*
>open world
dropped
>open world nasuverse game
What build are you going for, lads?
Urban Fantasy Death Knight with a greatsword and a trenchcoat for me.
For me, it's generic high school boy with asspull powers.
servants are undead
ashbringer OP.
For me it’s lesbian magical girl with cool explosion powers.
Tsukihime never can work like a open world, now a open space, it would fill the urban horror.
That’s why he’s got Takeuchi as the business/CEO guy while Nasu writes and plans stuff for the future. He doesn’t really need to ATM due to FGO still being successful, but I imagine TM is gearing up for the future with RG, Extra Remake, and a new Melty in the future. Also the other Mahoyo games if he keeps to his word.
>Extra Remake
I'll believe it when I see it. As far as I'm concerned, this shit is vaporware. Should've just done another Extella at this point.
They showed the game way too early with real pre-alpha test footage that isn’t the usual lies. It was actually all they had made what they showed. The stream they had didn’t even have music or any regular things promotional streams like this usually have. They just made a small thing and announced it as the remake just for the 10th anniversary. That’s bite them in the ass with how long they’ve been silent. COVID was also an issue since they just made the studio and then they had to go work from home without really finding a groove dev wise since they were so new. I think they’ll have something to show soon as long as they’ve got their shit together and working with the other dev that’s working on this mid-tier game like they talked about before is going well. https://youtu.be/8_Gk1-hESqw

News about the game:
Release Date: December 8, 2022
MSRP: $39.99*
Does Aoko get blacked* as well?
*Nasu style powerup
Wait. Where the frick is that art of Shirou from?
It's Emiya Alter from FGO.
No, the one on the left. I don't recognize it.
Not sure. Looks like him immediately before summoning Saber.
Looks like a fan made sprite for shitty sprite comics.
He's probably from the gacha or some spin-off. Fate has copious amounts of those.
I know you're just memeing but his skin isn't black, it's charred.
Charred skin would leave marks and bruises, which are never mentioned by anyone.
But it is mentioned in the VN. Abusing your magic circuits is supposed to char you from the inside out.
I mean she has her badass power up once she redshifts. It even has a white haired Aoko in it.
>white haired Aoko
So she's skipping Super Saiyan Blue and going straight to Ultra Instinct?
She literally has Ultra Instinct so you’re not wrong kek. It may actually be better than it since she’s using time to avoid hits.
>badass
>female
lmao
You really don’t know who Aoko is if that’s the case. Oh sweet summer child.
Is she a troony or what?
I like how Touko's been crazy buffed over the years to the point where a lot of high-profile magi really don't want to ever fricking deal with her, but even then she can't beat Aoko.
I mean no one wants to deal with Aoko, not even Arc.
too be fair, Aoko is a true mage with full power over time, She's always been legitimately utterly bullshit.
No, she's a trash mage. The only thing she's ever been good at is combat. If you want someone who can achieve revolutionary new rituals or spells or create expertly crafted bounded fields, you're not gonna get that from Aoko. If you want someone who can blow things up real fricking could and beat the shit out of nearly any other magus, then that's Aoko.
No if you want actual magecraft and cool shit you go to Touko, but Aoko is still bullshit because shes a walking path of destruction and theres about frick all anyone can do about it.
Even then she's not the strongest.
You literally just agreed with what he said
I fricking hate nutm but I will make an exception for aoko also the music is really good wonder if nasu will ever bother to finish this
>I fricking hate nutm
Mahoyo released three years before FGO did.
Yes and?
You must be this jacked at the very minimum to even stand a chance with women, Ganker.
>I only date kings of England who wield Excalibur
It’s not hard to have abs when you weigh 90 pounds soaking wet like this gay twink.
This is why I only play games with fat ugly bastards
Does Shiki own a mobile phone in the remake?
yes
Amazing. Finally a Type-Moon protagonist for the modern age. In 2012.
Yes. He tries to take pics of Arc during their date but they all come out super blurry due to her being a vampire of sorts
>this scene
Remake has some hilarious scenes like the one with him daydreaming about Ciel and this one
SHIKI NO
Is Aoko supposed to be cute or sexy?
I still don't really understand...
She's a cute high school girl who becomes a sexy Nee-san.
Why do you say that as if they were contradictory qualities?
She has modest tomboyish style while being decidedly feminine.
Aoko doesn't need to try to be sexy, she naturally is, and that is cute.
I feel like it's actually a combination of three elements, her behavior and attitude/mannerisms are tomboyish, her body very feminine/sexy, while her aesthetic (by which I mean fashion sense) is decidedly casual which is usually reserved for cute characters. So she was intentionally designed to be all three.
Aoko is as close and as far away from a real human as you can envision.
ENTER THIA ESCARDOS
> “Thia” is only letter of “Theia”, the planet which crashed into earth billions of years ago, creating the moon.
> created by Mesala and DAA Van-Fem shenanigans
> Gets destroyed by counter guardians before it can be born in every universe where Waver isn’t Flat’s designated tard wrangler
> Literally calls itself a “True Human”
SOMEONE TELL THE BLONDE VAMPIRE b***h SHE IS ABSOLUTELY FINISHED, REPLACED, MOGGED, AND BTFO BY NARITA’S CHAD OC.
>Gets destroyed by Counter Guardians
Doesn't sound so tough to me.
They have to completely Annihilate flat before Thia can be born from him.
Also forgot
> Overpowers Gaia boosted enkidu with just magecraft
> still has another ability up his ass, and you know it’s going to be even more bullshit.
God Narita really does love his mary sues.
It's probably still not Beast tier though.
Chaos, Zeus, and Romulus are above both of them.
What's the deal with SF posting? New LN vol?
It’s just one schizo. Also I’m the schizo btw.
Speaking of i seriously need to catch up on F/SF last i saw avenger herc was kicking everyones ass at the hospital and ishtar was causing problems because ishtar.
Is this getting a anime?
Can it even fill a cour?
It's a movie.
Will it cover the whole LN? Or will it need the multiple?
It will be a single movie deal, IIRC.
will it be enough to cover the whole story?
I guess we'll see. I don't think we've been told all that much about it, though, maybe the stinger at the end will reveal a second movie coming or something. Or maybe they'll pull an UBW 2010 lol.
Yes, a movie by ufotable.
I mean I guess if the Seventh Singularity can fill a two-cour, I don't necessarily see why Mahoyo can't.
why do you guys need English translations? if you're weeb enough to be into this shit you must've picked up moon by now
Nasu's Japanese is hard.
not really. the kanji for the magic mumbo jumbo is a bit tricky but beyond that there's nothing weird going on.
t. moon speaker
So the entire meme about Nasu having a super obscure style in moon comes from the terminology of nasuverse magic being weird?
He likes to invent words too. And sometimes he can reference some obscure shit usually buddhist/shinto/taoist which can be a bit hard to understand even for natives
>he can reference some obscure shit usually buddhist/shinto/taoist
That's my favourite part, when an author's culture of origin is at its most apparent. I bet there are japanese too who'd find it super interesting if some western author went on a huge monologue about the monophysite or arian heresies, or I don't know, Eriugena's philosophy.
My toddler level Japanese says otherwise Toshiaki. I really should try to really learn though but man is kanji rough
Nasu's prose is weird as frick
Reading TM stuff is fun and I enjoy doing it
Learning nip is hard, and would not enjoy doing it

What did Nasu mean by this?

too powerful
sigh...did they *really* need to be that big?
They are as they should be.
Those toes look really fricking weird.
yes
YES
Good boys.
YES
I forgot play-asia takes the piss with imports, any good site to import it from or will the eng version be on hong kong PSN?
>I forgot play-asia takes the piss with imports
What did he mean by this?
They suck at imports
I haven't had issue with importing games or merch from them unless somethings change in the past 8~ months? Got SRW30 last year and it arrived in less than 2 weeks. By far the quickest I'd gotten something in my many years of importing.
She'll be in Melty Blood right?
Aoko should have smaller breasts.
Why not FSN?
There's a complete fan translation for FSN while Mahoyo has been in translation hell for an entire decade.
Having an official translation for FGO and not having one for FSN is absolutely insane and moronic
Having an official translation for Extella and not having one for CCC is absolutely insane and moronic
Having an official translation for Melty Blood and not having one for Tsukihime (or a its recently released remake) is absolutely insane and moronic
Typemoon is fricking braindead
Extra is getting remake so CCC is probably next.
But yeah still stupid, don't help that TM still try operate like small circle rather than someone with huge IP on hands.
>Extra is getting remake so CCC is probably next.
At this point they may as well "remake" them both together. Everyones creaming themselves over the hd port of Crisis Core, whats another couple of PSP ports? The Extra games were nice and stylized and still look good today anyway.
Already read in French but I'm glad they cucked Hollow Trannies.
Will try to support it so we may get Tsukihime and other works in the future outside of FGO trash (Arc route fan TL in a couple weeks too)
How was the French TL, anon?
It seemed good, haven't read it in japanese so hard to say how accurate.
For frick sake. i can't wait anymore for this. i either have to wait for the brazilian MTL translation or the official one. i know there's the leaked one but it's raw MTL post several chapters without any editing iirc.
Is an actual, official F/SN English release. An unironic possibility at this point? Or will it remain a never ever kind of deal?
Too old. Now Nasu wants new things to be in the spotlight.
When Mahoyo does well, I bet they'll consider it.
Apparently the license is ungodly expensive
Maybe Aniplex could do it though considering they were probably a major reason for Mahoyo getting an EN release
They could. They’ll probably announce it for the 20th anniversary
Never gets old.
Why aoko's aokos are so big?
That's where women store their magical power.
It's a static VN with no choices so no matter how good the story is, it's not even close to a game.
You play it on a console
VNs are better than movies pretending to be games.
Don't you love holding forward and occasionally clicking jump to make the rock climbing/wall scaling animation play out?
I want to lick Aoko’s back!
