I understand it is not technically "photorealistic" my apologies, still aaa devs strive too much for eye catching realism with a lot of details which is nice but it kinda blends with everything else and doesn't feel very special.

I don't know what's with that, but Skyrim has almost no edges compared to Deus Ex. One gets the cookie cutter "going for photorealism" so right except for reflections, while the other has some kino colour play (Prague lockdown hnnghghg) with good reflections. But it looks like someone lubed up the screen and no mix of ingame/graphics driver anti aliasing or sharpening could make the jaggies go away.

I don't know if its just me but I always felt that witcher books and the first game had the feel of rock scene with mc wearing a lether jacket with metal spikes, having long hair, monsters, slums, everyone swears a lot, drinks a lot and fricks a lot - like it's a 80-90s rock album or a band on a tour. And I felt like with each new game franchise became more and more westernized and it kinda lost that weird specific rock theme to the point where W3 felt almost like Game of Thrones rather than what it was originally.

But in a video game, showing a monoethnic culture shouldn't be an issue; in real world production, voice acting can always done by people who don't match the ethnicity of the character. Potions and planning are key. Way more so than in other games. Sometimes outright required.
Also if you're planning to hit the level cap do it in the second to last area, it has the best leveling spot. The best spot in the last area kinda sucks.

yeah that's pretty strange, you can see that from global achievements, most of the time only 70% of people make the most easy achievement, and game completion or even reaching final levels drops down to 20.
I understand there is a spectrum of people who play offline, bots that buy it to sell accounts and people who actually play it, but its still very strange to see it, i don't really like completing steam achievements most of the time but i like to see if people actually do the most basic things like one of the highest i saw is elden ring "rest at a site of grace" which is one of the first things you do when you start playing, unavoidable, 77% of people did it. And keep in mind this is one of the highest i found.
Half life 2 i see the completion of the first levels of the game is only made by 69% of people who bought it.
A lot of them even drop after the first 2 or 3. Like terraria which cut your first tree is 86% and the second one survive your first night is 75, and for a lot of them the plunge is even harder, it should be like a hypotenuse due to it's difficulty but a lot of them do like a P shape.
I was now looking at some, dark souls remastered the most common achievements, first 3 ones are above 90% which is the start of the game, then it plunges to fricking 70 and some more below they go below 50, insane.
Then it blew my mind to see enter the gungeon achievements, complete the tutorial, 86% completed, second one, something about a secret path, 35%. I completed this game many times, in fact this is one of the only games i 100% the achievements in steam without even noticing, but to see that fricking plunge is incredible, this is why the market is full of fricking shit? People just don't play the games? And the people that actually play just keep it to themselves and the noisy fat b***hes make the decisions? It's like I said, I think people buy to fit it, to have something to talk about with others. This social aspect is very important nowdays. For example, Genshin Impact, which is so highly successful, and its it's used mostly as a platform to launch communities around it. It was a genius move if you think about it, since then you release the 'platform' for free and charge for the next topic of discussion. It cut most of the meat of having to launch a complete game every time.
To summarize, this social aspect is what control games now, that's why they're so worried about conforming to social normals, like the Witcher remake.

As CDPR's experience and skill grew and improved, so did their games. Witcher 2 imo was their peak storytelling, but Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk are both good and better (by a mile) than Witcher 1.
Stalker was a shitty game that /k/ (and later Ganker) only liked because it had lots of cool guns and let you wander around in a semi-open wilderness/disaster zone playing pretend with them. It was never a good game in its own right. Just a fricking mess of a game with a few shiny good parts. What stalker became today and what makes it still playable today, is the absolutely gigantic amount of work put into the game by modders, not only with them improving the gameplay outright, but also fixing the base game so that it was actually fricking playable start to finish.

I don't know if its just me but I always felt that witcher books and the first game had the feel of rock scene with mc wearing a lether jacket with metal spikes, having long hair, monsters, slums, everyone swears a lot, drinks a lot and fricks a lot - like it's a 80-90s rock album or a band on a tour. And I felt like with each new game franchise became more and more westernized and it kinda lost that weird specific rock theme to the point where W3 felt almost like Game of Thrones rather than what it was originally.

If you're somewhere with a significant black population, actors will push for roles, you don't want to run afoul of employment discrimination law, you know the deal. And the progression is straight up moronic, geralt levl 1 has 5 magical abilities and 2 swords and geralt level 30 has the same 5 magical abilities and 2 swords. The inventory is shit and you hoard useless cancer only for the purpose of having an open world.
Everything bad about TW3 comes from the fact that they decided to make it open world. It is still fun to play but jesus fricking christ it is bad and TW1 is better in every way.

Potions and planning are key. Way more so than in other games. Sometimes outright required.
Also if you're planning to hit the level cap do it in the second to last area, it has the best leveling spot. The best spot in the last area kinda sucks.

I hate that games are made for people who don't like games now. They don't like them but still buy them, maybe to fit in or something. You can see how any game in Steam now has a ridiculous low number of people finishing them.
yeah that's pretty strange, you can see that from global achievements, most of the time only 70% of people make the most easy achievement, and game completion or even reaching final levels drops down to 20.
I understand there is a spectrum of people who play offline, bots that buy it to sell accounts and people who actually play it, but its still very strange to see it, i don't really like completing steam achievements most of the time but i like to see if people actually do the most basic things like one of the highest i saw is elden ring "rest at a site of grace" which is one of the first things you do when you start playing, unavoidable, 77% of people did it. And keep in mind this is one of the highest i found.
Half life 2 i see the completion of the first levels of the game is only made by 69% of people who bought it.
A lot of them even drop after the first 2 or 3. Like terraria which cut your first tree is 86% and the second one survive your first night is 75, and for a lot of them the plunge is even harder, it should be like a hypotenuse due to it's difficulty but a lot of them do like a P shape.
I was now looking at some, dark souls remastered the most common achievements, first 3 ones are above 90% which is the start of the game, then it plunges to fricking 70 and some more below they go below 50, insane.
Then it blew my mind to see enter the gungeon achievements, complete the tutorial, 86% completed, second one, something about a secret path, 35%. I completed this game many times, in fact this is one of the only games i 100% the achievements in steam without even noticing, but to see that fricking plunge is incredible, this is why the market is full of fricking shit? People just don't play the games? And the people that actually play just keep it to themselves and the noisy fat b***hes make the decisions? I thought after all these years videogames became a more open medium, but it seems like it is still a niche hobby, its just that competitive shooters and fat loser b***hes tend to vomit their cancer on social media a lot.
It's like I said, I think people buy to fit it, to have something to talk about with others. This social aspect is very important nowdays. For example, Genshin Impact, which is so highly successful, and its it's used mostly as a platform to launch communities around it. It was a genius move if you think about it, since then you release the 'platform' for free and charge for the next topic of discussion. It cut most of the meat of having to launch a complete game every time.
To summarize, this social aspect is what control games now, that's why they're so worried about conforming to social normals, like the Witcher remake.

Add base creations, remove most of the story, make it sandbox, add mining, add machinery, add technology tree instead of magic, add water pumps and steam, add nuclear energy and realistic physics, make the main story be geralt being an industrial engineer with politechnic capabilities and he is there in the witcher island to acquire oil and resources and defeat everyone that steps in his direction, replace swords with wrenches, replace 5 spells with voltage and change the title to The Technician.

It's a fricking RPG with RTWP. Having to push anything at all to attack is a step up for the genre.

the most recent witcher tv series has at least three sex scenes per season. sex scenes are no where near outdated.
