That would work if this was any other company but it's Valve we are talking about. They probably have some grand vision how they are to tackle the cheater problem even when some smaller fixes would help the community much faster.
Sadly I don't really think there's much to do. It's far too easy money for cheat providers to offer cheats to popular games so they figure ways to circumvent even the best anti-cheat.

Optimize the game a little more
Add all the missing maps (embarrassing, should've been added by now if not at the start already), and new ones
Revert to the old loadout system or change it. This new one makes niche guns like m249 pp bizon ump etc already much more obsolete and valve will be forced to buff them if they want to see people using it, cause no one will pick that over traditional guns. Also back then having to choose between M4S and A4 was a cool concept and being able to have both now is a little cheap imo

The revamped map/rank system really fricked the game up, it seems good in theory but its really not that good in practice. The new leaderboard system messes stuff up pretty wild as cheaters get a better incentive to cheat. Its not that big but still

cheating is only an issue at 15k+ elo and at that point you can just go play faceit to avoid cheating morons, they really need to fix movement and the economy. you lose 1 full buy round on CT and youre broke the rest of the half. I think it's great as a containment game but if valve really cared the next logical step would be to implement a constant unhearable noise that's actually harmful to humans and turns you (clinically) brain dead over the course of a few months of gameplay
I think the "people" who play this shit deserve much worse but this is about as humane as it gets
