how do I get more accolades?
And I heard you have to keep the npc alive during boss battles to get their armor?
Also how do I get more 4 star stuff.

Wo long, gay bowser.
accolades come from multiplayer so you must invade my young friend you have to KILL other players VIOLENTLY
accolades come from doing many different tasks. look at the title list, you get accolades by completing them.
and pvp
i wonder if the whole game is viable with a ranged build like this
i used that set which enhances ranged attacks and gives me arrows back on crits in pvp quiet a few times. I thought it was pretty good. guess not many use bows in pvps since I always catch others right in the face. do they know they can parry my arrow?
Repeating crossbow is pretty underrated. It's legit like pulling up a machine gun, out of all the ranged weapons you can pull it up and start shooting it almost immediately.
I don't remember machine guns in Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Why does this music sound so familiar to who wants to be a millionaire? I think of it everytime i hear it.
I've always wanted a soulslike game where you can use a bow all the time. I've seen videos of people doing that in Elden Ring but it just looks so much weaker than magic AND you have to farm arrows.
What do accolades do, anyway?
>how do I get more accolades?
fastest way? go online and be a menace to society
currency to buy emotes and gamble weapons and a few other things
When do I get to the village? I'm already 4 missions in.
>Doing sub-missions
LMAO bro I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY WERE have a nice day
anon be patient, he may have autism.
Thanks for reminding me - what's the deal with sub-missions? Are the maps any different? Are they worth doing?
Everyone here is presumed to have autism.
>Are they worth doing?
Not really, loot is fucking trash. Especially in NG+
>are they worth doing?
I take back the be kind to the autistic fag.
moron why even video game? kys.
WTF Why did my question trigger you? I'm genuinely confused with your reaction.
whats the point of doing side missions? to play the game of course. why even play the game to begin with if you are actively trying to avoid the gameplay. its cool if you dont want to do the side missions. but to ask if they are worth doing it is just gayry. what are you expecting out of the game? to reach "end game" and look up builds online and gg?
I'm looking to have fun with my limited time, and I wondering if it's worth spending time on.
>Thanks for reminding me - what's the deal with sub-missions? Are the maps any different? Are they worth doing?
they give you exp, and that's pretty much it, if there's a set you want, maybe look it up, there may be a sub mission tied to it. At least that's how it was in Nioh, here you're probably better off just getting a set from your sworn brothers.
sub missions also have dragon essences and crystals in them. if you wish to fill you flask usage and upgrade the healing done faster.
>if you wish to fill you flask usage and upgrade the healing done faster
waaaaait what? I can upgrade my healing? shit, I need to check my inventory
Which ones?
I dont know of the top of my head. I just did all missions and explored map and found them inside chests.
I believe some sub missions are where you find some Dragon Vein crystals and essences.
Which ones?
https://www.powerpyx.com/wo-long-fallen-dynasty-all-dragon-vein-crystals-essences-locations/
What the fuck? There are sub-missions?
You should check out the travel option.
Not surprising, given that the gave throws you to the next mission instead of the map for no reason whatsoever.
think you should be able to get there already. go to a flag go to travel, press square or whatever button it is for you to take yo to the hidden village.
1 more mission so go help miss tits now
It's automatic
the old dude in the village trades it for emotes and weapon rng rolls. check it out.
It's the game where all the enemies attack through your shit and you die like a bitch!
why do many of the graces and sets suck? i don't understand why you would put that shit in the game. maybe they all scales up in the final NG+ or something?
To trick no life retards into grinding for worthless sets that will be outclassed the second the first DLC drops
You're the no life retard giving a shit about soulslike pvp lol. Fucking moron.
video games are supposed to be fun anon.
pvp in wo long is fun.
I turned off invasions the second I launched the demo. PvP is for the birds
>accidentally stumble upon boss
>Kill him
>No option to explore the rest of the maps
What the fuck..
The fastest way to get accolades in my experience is to go on a killing spree of players. Its more profitable to invade three players and slay all of them.
is this the skimpiest outfit possible in the game? Also this game is so fun despite running like shit, team ninja always give me throwbacks to ps2 era games when it was mainly about gameplay. Whatever happened to that. People say it looks like a ps3 gfame but who cares, but it should at least run buttery smooth given how dated it looks
i agree their games definitely have that ps2 feel
i love that shit, 8/10 ps2 games were peak gaming tbh
its sad to think if anything happens to team ninja they were the last ones carrying on that design ethos. Games in general are so far removed from that way of making games now. Even fromsoft aren't the same anymore, hopefully armored core 6 will be a will be more like an oldschoo lrom game
Can you like, turn off the early handholding co-op bros? They're so distracting.
It's one of the branch items in your inventory.
Mind explaining the magic? Am I doing something wrong? I'm using earth, cast mud, cast stalactites, even embue my weapon with the element. But they don't last long. It's like stalactites do minor damage, the embed weapon last like 5 seconds, and the mud barely damages or casts heavy on the enemy
Only good magic is earth defense buffs, everything else lasts 2 seconds. You're intended to counter magic and shit but it's all gay and retarded
Spell that puts 3 earth spikes in front of you is the best offensive earth spell. Insane damage and can easily cheese things especially large monsters.
yea its basically sloth from nioh. but to be fair I found ng plus to be a lot more resistant to it...just like nioh.
How? It barely does anything
They get knocked back on every spike, that first familiar you get is the best for the same reason, whole field of spikes.
So stack heavy acclimation and +stone dmg on my armor?
Yeah, Lion's Roar is broken too.
you need to stack it enough on the enemy so he gets completely unbuffed and starts moving slow as fuck. its useless against bosses that have earth or wood.
Is this game an tryhard difficulty like Nioh, or is it actually fun?
Mostly easier than Nioh, the parry window is forgiving and you can hold block while you try it. Still not a very good game but if you're into these and Three Kingdoms it's decent I guess.
I found base difficulty to be very pleasurable. I died a few times in each boss till I got the hang of them. died many times to regular enemies. I found it not too hard not too easy. truly think TN did a good job balancing it out here. NG+ it gets harder, quite a bit harder.
Just beat first playthrough, who is pic related? What's the max upgrade on the Dragon's Cure Pot?
Possibly Zhuge Liang, Zhou Yu and Sima Yi are already accounted for.
>possibly
who else could it be?
Some random OC if we are on a bad timeline.
>has a dragon divine beast
>the main character of WOLONG the game
>robe and fan
>from Province Xu
>call himself Liang in his gauntlet side mission in the chinese version
That is one hell of a donutsteel
>His boss mission is called The Crouching Dragon Roars
>Has a cutscene where he sees into the future
>Is shown in a future vision as looking exactly like the depiction of a character in a certain recent anime
yea I dunno lads I think we should have a completely disingenuous argument in every thread where we pretend it's still up for debate
Are Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, and Lu Bu the three most popular 3 Kingdoms characters?
You forgot Sun Quan
literally who likes sun quan. the worst sun by a country mile.
honestly all of them are just as popular. maybe zhuge liang and cao cao are THE most popular but who knows
guan Yu as well. But pretty much yes.
Other than the guy that became a god, sure.
Lu Bu not really, only with gamer retards.
why did they go with crouching when there's not even kung-fu? can't it be sleeping too?
Apparently 10 pots at +15 is the max.
>tfw only 9 at +13
>could be literally anywhere
>dont even remember which ones i got
>would have to go through each one on a list
So cancer. They could have just made some kind of icon by the missions once you beat the game to show you levels where you missed pot upgrades, pandas, and golden cicadas.
Pretty sure Wo Long was a B Team situation. The lack of quality of life, poor performance, shitty graphics, etc say it all.
>A TEAM B TEAM A TEAM B TEAM
when will this meme end
When it stops being true. Who the fuck do you think is working on the Nioh sequel? Hint, not the people that worked on Wo Long. Learn something you little gay.
you say this as if nioh 3 even exists
Yeah, TN definitely won't release a sequel to their most successful franchise in recent history. You're a stupid child.
I mean it was so successful they shelved inexchange for wo long and rise of ronin. Unlike western devs, japanese devs actually have dignity and know when they're fatigued by an IP. Same reason miyazaki stopped doing dark souls after 3 because he knew there was nothing he could do about it anymore.
miyazak made the same exact game after dark souls
where is it?
Nioh 2 was a massive game with content and depth that lasts for years. I can see why they wouldn't want to follow up on it. There's not much that could be done with Nioh that wouldn't make it extremely bloated.
Thats exactly what the director said. That and theyve already exhausted what they could do with the sengoku setting so much that nioh 2 had to explore the heian period as well. I think TN wants to do a new NG game first before going back to Nioh.
Why don't they just, get this, create their own world not based on anything from the real world.
Woah.
Thats what Ninja Gaiden is for. That said Koei Tecmo has always put an emphasis on historical japanese and chinese settings because kou shibusawa is a big fan of it.
>They could have just made some kind of icon by the missions once you beat the game to show you levels where you missed pot upgrades, pandas, and golden cicadas.
This
Nioh 2 had that
It does suck ass, but by the end of the game nothing in a past battlefield should pose much of a problem for you at all so cleaning up all that loose shit wouldn’t be an issue. It’s what I’m doing now since I’ve just run into problems with the final boss. Realistically it’s just been him. Lu Bu and Zhang Liang that were the most thrilling moments. Everything else has been pretty cheese and that’s considering my boomer tier reaction skills.
turn on your cheat engine
>missing 1 dragon pot upgrade
>missing 1 panda
>no way of telling which one I'm missing
why do this?
>Missing a bunch of upgrades and flags and shit
>Don't care, game is mid and not worth 100%
Guess I'm more based than you.
Wtf, are you me?
>Do you have a moment to speak about our lord and savior, Cao Cao?
why are the red levels so red
you got a problem with red?
realistically you should be fucking ded for charging someone with an MA like that
kino.
>calmly opens the door
>not a single word is said
>not a single emote is done
>they immediately start fighting
BASED BASED BASED.... FIGHTING IS BASEEEEEDDDDDDD!!!!!
>get to Sun Jian in the final quest
>1 pot
>die
>don't have to start over
THANK FUCKING GOD
>cao cao
>Cao aman
>Cao mengde
Whats up with the different names? I don't understand. Is this normal for Chinese?
It's normal in that timw period
>1st Cao is the family name, just like Zhang
>2nd Cao is the first given name
>"mengde" is the second given name, it's normally related to the first given name.
>"amen" is childhood nickname, can only be used by close people
So people just bullshitted and said Lu Bu was a good fight because it's difficult.
it was fun.
I think you're a retarded gay with low standards. I guess that's a given since you enjoy Wo Long.
I also liked nioh 1 and 2. does that help? why is it hard to understand that there is much to like in Wo Long? the characters are based, I like the environments and combat is fun. Im certain I would not give TN a pass if they released a shit game, but honestly this one isnt.
>no criticisms
>mindless bitching
Ask me how I know you're a brainlet soulsfag
It's not even difficult, it just makes you actually learn the game mechanics if you haven't already.
>difficult
How the FUCK did people think it was difficult? I got to him yesterday and was wondering how bullshit he'd be due to all the people complaining and then I found out he's one of the most fair fights in the game and his red attacks are just free resets. He's fun because its just a chill 1v1 without bullshit and his attacks have a good learning curve for parrying.
i've been on him for 2 hours and haven't gotten even half his heath down. He's difficulty because he takes basically no damage, i die in one hit from everything, and it's a crapshoot when i can push a button without him armoring through my moves. It's annoying and bad and i'm hating this game.
>i die in one hit from everything
Get 25 morale
I don't even know what morale is or what the different levels even mean.
what's the number in the circle by your hp bar? what's your name on twitch?
It's the number above the health bar. All you need to know that if your morale is lower that enemy's morale you get much more damage. For example you have 20 morale and the enemy has 25 = you get +90% damage.
Why is that even a thing? This game is so fucking stupid.
so you stop being shit and dying
That's retarded. I wouldn't wanna die in the first place without morale being in the game anyway.
>This game is so fucking stupid.
not as stupid as a guy that skips tutorial prompts then complains a boss has been fucking him for two hours
It's variable difficulty for noobs, though not communicated properly.
If you suck, you can just keep feeding cups to graves and scuffing down elixirs to gain morale since morale doesn't reset when resting.
The only bad thing about morale is locking magic behind them.
>The only bad thing about morale is locking magic behind them.
And that also wouldn't be too bad it the game would be several spell tabs or at the very least if it would allow to set several spells into one slots so they'd swap automatically once you you have enough morale for the next spell.
or they had charge levels. imposing slab could be a charged earth spike that needs 7 morale to charge.
You know, that can be a pretty neat idea, spells evolving when morale goes up.
Instead of having multiple different attack spells, we could've had a single line for say fireballs that naturally evolve to become bigger and stronger the higher the morale, with the upper limit determined solely by where you put in your spell points.
>The only bad thing about morale is locking magic behind them.
wait until you get to ng+
this, pure fucking madness, I only found every flag in my game one single time, meaning I was always taking at least 20% more dmg than intended, I even played wtih a heavy armor set thinking it would make me tankier but now that I know about the morale system I know i was taking more dmg than some guy in light armor who happened to find the last flag
>dynamic difficulty but it makes the enemies stronger if the player is having trouble
This shit will never not be funny that somebody at TN thought this up and then put it in a game with diablo loot. The player is sitting here fumbling through piles of gear with -2% damage taken, meanwhile they're taking 200% increased damage from some random ass mob unless they go grab a bunch of flags.
describing it that way makes it sound based as hell, like ninja gaiden "we made it harder because they said it was hard" based
If you've been finding flags, you're never more than 1 or 2 morale points below the enemy, but I guess if people are shit enough to have difficulty with basic enemies, they're probably shit at finding flags as well.
the physical resistance and damage taken rolls are still significant, when I was doing my armor testing it was 5 morale levels lower than the enemy. full heavy with 23.4% physical resistance reduces damage by about 32% from naked, full light with 8% physical resist reduces damage by about 9% from naked.
>sewer level
>Poison everywhere
Fucks sake
It's one of the levels that makes you take a break the moment you see it. That and the shitty harbor level where you pull the anchors on tiny boats and they drift exactly where they need to for you.
which act?
Lu Bu is kicking my ass tbh, need tip threads back.
Basically I just had to beat him countering his criticals, it was the only way I could do substantial damage to his spirit. You can only get about one normal attack in for every rest he takes. I also spammed elemental plague, venomous discharge and lightning weapon to stun him but that is my strategy for everything
Block
Play slow and defensive, focus on not taking damage instead of doing damage. Poke when you can, but it is only to keep the stagger meter from decaying and a bit of chip damage. If you suck ass spend a couple of lives figuring out the timing on the red attack counters.
Holy fuck. Heaviness acclimation stacking is brutal. One attack from my level 1 earth debuffs big enemies. Holy shit.
Just finished the burning louyang level holy shit taotie was fucking garbage.
I didn't know that you had to mount him during his 1st phase in order to kill him so I kept whacking away at his legs for a couple of minutes and wondered why he wasn't dying despite being 0 hp.
Also, his 2nd phase is also an instakill once you guard break him that I wonder why did they even bother with it.
any tips for zhang liao? High lightning resist armor I guess
poison. the aoe cloud or ground spread.
aoe one... toxin bubbles or devouring sweep?
w/e you find it better to neutralize the lighting attacks. you will see how when hes surrounded by poison and tries doing lighting attack he gets countered.
for metal neutralizes wood lighting attacks
slot in elemental attack full block
You get accolades from helping others players from coop or recruting, also when you invade and kill other players.
Really cool thing is, you get accolades in single and multiplayer when you kill purple monsters, the level indicator of a monster glows purple if it killed other players.
You get the armor of each npc if you level the bond with them to lvl 10, just kill monsters with them summoned.
Someone explain this shit. So it's rock paper scissors with elements?
Yeah, doesn't really matter. It's a half-assed mechanic. Useful in some bosses, like Lu Bu you can toss a water shot at him when he gets fiery.
post webms
Thorny ground vs deathly bog.
Both slow the enemy down and damage them. Which one is better?
downloaded the demo on a whim. really didn't expect much. i thought Sekiro was more un-fun than ER/Soulsborne, and i've tried to play through Nioh and Nioh 2 multiple times and the stamina system just pisses me off to no end... but so far this is really enjoyable. Even that tutorial boss which felt a bit extreme, didn't really piss me off that much. What's the catch here? Is there something i can expect to really annoy me in the retail version or is this really a Nioh/Sekiro hybrid with all the stuff in those games that pissed me off kept to a bare minimum?
the demo is just the first two levels of the game and your progress even carries over. if you like the demo you will like the game.
I hated nioh 2 simply because the skill ceiling was too high and I found the abundance of skills too complex and overwhelming. Wo long is like the perfect balance between nioh 2 and sekiro. Not too complex and not overly simple
yeah while i did appreciate how much content and customization there was within combat, it did feel like a bit much. but really, my issue was how the stamina system deliberately made the game feel clunkier than it should've been. it's one thing if i feel like i'm being punished for mis-timing a parry in Wo Long, it's another to make a game where managing your stamina become a game within a game. to say nothing of the constant sepia-toned no-fun-allowed monster zones.
Literally how do you tell what the fuck is a sub battle and what's a battle you already did? Put 'clear' on it or something you stupid fucks. So many quality of life fuck ups in this game.
main quests have a big chink rune next to them, cleared missions have light blue text
Damn NG+ feels way better than first playthrough, a lot of those easy bosses now have enough health and spirit to actually use their moves and they deal enough damage to threaten you. The damage might be more reasonable if you put on some heavier armor but I'm actually enjoying getting 1-shot by the big red attacks.
most of them are still oneshot with only heavy armor, you probably can live with some Earth buffs and wood investment
Is it retarded to still be rocking the General of Man armor after Lu Bu?
you can upgrade the gear you start out with to +9 and finish the game with it.
Aesthetics is a valid reason
Yeah, looks like shit but it's the only thing I saw with a set bonus on it.
you can transmog your armor at least
I legit forgot you could do that already. Thanks lad.
No. I beat NG+ with Zhao Yun's stiff that I got during the demo prerelease. The gear system is very streamlined but it's not a bad thing
zhanga laio is fucking bs, Even if you successfully parry his attacks, the excess lighting chunks your health like fuck. I dunno if im playing wrong but it feels to me like the intended way to beat most bosses is parry until they do a red attack, parry that and rinse and repeat until their spirit is depleted and you can get a critical. Most of the time you're lucky to get one normal attack in. maybe i'm missing something but if I;m not that makes bosses very boring and tedious
>the excess lighting
keep mashing parry
I thought that might work but didn't do it. The lightning is basically a follow up attack?
I hate to ask the retarded question but is that a spell? Can't say I;ve noticed a full elemental block for weapon
It's a skill garden gnomeel that you can put on your weapon
He has no super armor thus weak without lightning enchantment, also get the elemental full block on your weapon. You can just block and occasionally parry some attack, once his enchantment gone he is free target
>parry that and rinse and repeat until their spirit is depleted and you can get a critical
Yep, game sucks.
Unsummon your partner, bosses get meter recovery if they land hits on things. If they are shitting out AOEs they are very hard to stagger due to getting free hits on your allies.
Does Cao Cao or Xun Yu have the better unique martial on their sword?
Fell off Dynasty Warriors since way back at 4 and the Rot3K games are pretty bad too. Wo Long confirmed best Three Kingdoms game.
Holy fuck you guys weren't kidding. Stone is fucked. I upgraded earth to around level 30 by now and thought it was shit until I added the buffs to stone and heavyness acclimation. Wow. Just two magic attacks and I debuffed the snake lady with heavy.
I literally beat her first try.
You can beat just about every boss first try if you watch them and press circle. Circle is broken.
it's not hard to debuff as long as you attack weakness. I have 12 fire and i can set fire weak enemies on fire in a few hits with fire weapon
I don't know how to check their weaknesses.
So the element to your weapon spells are shit, right?
Pretty mediocre unless you use a status build and use the status increase spell from metal at which point they become insanely op. Bosses become paper with a few status effects on and if they are poisoned the other status effects wont decrease so you only have to keep up poison.
They only seem good if you have a wood focused build, they really need the extra duration.
I'm stuck at Lu Bu. This picture perfectly summarizes how I'm feeling right now.
Have you tried counter, counter, counter, counter, counter? Same as every other boss in this mid game.
If you don't like this game. Why are you here?
Why are you wasting time complaining about a game?
Why don't you go to a game you do like and post there?
Shut up retard.
Leave the thread.
Niohmorons don’t play games they just whine about other games
>just press the dodge button bro!
you must've thought this was a really witty post
just parry
kek, I died like that on Lu Bu, couple hits away from victory.
What worked for me was keeping my distance and just learning to parry the red moves.
So apparently all the graces are mediocre and its best to just get a normal set?
Should I equip my 4 star or keep my 3 star that I've been upgrading.
Gear is shit, whatever has more slots you can change
>beat snake lady
>Get to temple.
>Now getting one shot by guys who are level 16+
>I searched the sewer are and found all the fucking banners.
What the fuck.
lemme guess, umbrella hats? dual swords?
Yes
Have you tried not getting hit? Just hold guard, deflect if you see the hit coming
take alternative paths and pick off those gay assassins first
Which virtues should I level up to face Aoye?
Not water. Last one I remember fighting had Ice attacks. But it doesn't really matter if you pick water. Just pick virtues that go with a weapon you like and focus on one of the two stats that contain spells you like using.
>Not water.
Does the stealth stat count for anything in this game?
yea
i had 1 water the entire time and could backstab just fine
The water spells are super gay though, there is one that disables lock on that works on players kek
Huge waste to sink anything into, you can sneak up on anything you want with 0 into stealth. Enemy view range is hilariously low.
There's really no situation you can't get a sneak attack off with 0 points in it that you could with 40, you just can run a bit closer to enemies. Between getting stuck with ranged attack and stealth water really got shafted on the most half-baked combat elements.
I bet they're gonna make some kind of way to upgrade your set bonuses in the DLC because this shit is super underwhelming and the higher difficulties will surely require more damage.
Really doubt anyone is coming back for DLC.
I already bought the season pass though.
have a nice day.
name a game I should be playing then.
Stardew Valley w/ Jas mods.
I dont like indie games anon. or at least I never have played one I really liked aside hollow knight.. and a farming simulator isnt my thing. I'll stick with wo long and have fun with the dlc since I enjoyed base game so much.
can we get a way to reroll, inherit, or pick martial arts
i've been using the same damn weapon since the start of chapter 2 on ng
The dlc might introduce 6 stars or equipment that makes what you have look like shit right away.
And of course graces for accessories.
>Ganker now pretends they utterly despise games where you solve every attack with the dodge button
>after years of worshiping From for releasing dodge button sims 5 times in a fucking row
why is this?
Wo Long doesn't have the same amount of polish so it really highlights how gay the underlying system is.
>polish
lmao
at least wo long doesn't have anything as abhorrent as dragonbutt lava lake
>talking about updates and DLC when the game already died in less than 2 weeks
>shitting and pissing yourself over a game you don't like on Ganker
>get invaded first time
>Knock down some stairs while he's running in
>Jump down and cast my mud
>He fucking goes down
>Notice it's a dead end with only the ladder going up
>Just spam mud again
>He's freaking out he climbs the ladder
>Cao cao slaps his ass and brings him to the floor
>He now has heavy debuff
>Tries attacking me
>So fucking slow I parry his ass and we just gangbang him in the corner
>Disconnected
Holy fuck
I have yet to get invaded even once, this game should have a sin system like dork souls, I would have a high invasion priority with all the hosts I killed
NG is no joke. even general of man gave me a challenge.
I honestly have no idea how some claimed that NG was just as easy or not enough challenge. either Im too much of a noob or /v gaymers are just too good. maybe both.
old Ganker was good at video games
current Ganker is mostly talking shit because ecelebs have bitched about the game being too hard
NG is designed for causal players first run, NG+ is for the core player base that is autistic enough to beat the game multiple times. NG bosses have low hp and dmg that they can't two shot you, but a single fatal blow can demolish 1/3 of their health.
any sexy sets in this game or is it all robes and capes?
Shanyue, entertainer, warmaiden and tianzhu hermit/hong jing's set.
How do I increase the amount of healing I get?
go to inventory under the usable items tab and use the green items that start with "Dragon". you find them throughout the game and are permanent upgrades to heals
Why are the last 3 bosses reskins from nioh dlc
Does your spirit gauge go down faster if you have A rank agility? I'm trying to find reason to invest in earth but infinite dodging seems pretty shit in a game where dodging is only ever done on accident.
The opposite.
The lower your agility the higher cost for everything that uses spirit except spells I think. Infinite dodge isn't what's good about A agility, it's the extremely low cost of the dodge, deflect, and your martial arts.
Yuan Shao was a very easy boss but holy fuck the design was so cool
looking forward to him kicking my ass 3 DLCs from now
have you tried new game?
What’s the difference between ng and his sub mission version?
new game enemies and bosses are more aggressive and hit harder. it will be the same sub mission. but harder.
Right now, only tougher enemies. If Nioh is any indication, the Ng cycles added by dlc will also change enemy compositions, adding DLC enemies to older levels.
I hope they go the SOP path in terms of boss AI changes. I really like how completely different Black Knight felt on the highest Lufenia difficulty compared to Normal/Chaos.
And then there's shit like the Fused Elementals completely skipping the first phase on Lufenia.
I also hope they add variants of bosses on higher difficulties. The "Chaos Lich" variant of Lich fought completely differently.
the jet shit is cool but he will always be a pushover unless they add new moves
What's up with the weird names. They call cao cao with a ts sound. Japanese games don't do this.
its one of those things that its stupid, makes no sense why westerners do this but its still accepted.
Fuck Zhang rang. Stupid loony tunes clones.
>zhang rang
>zhiao liao
>dong wong
I have absolutely no idea which bosses you fags are talking about. All these chink names are so uninspired. I never put a name to a face in this game unlike nioh.
Deacons of the Deep but not shit. Cope
Low IQ Otaku. Cope
>alright guys, let's get h-ACK!
>10 morale
based challenge seeker
in new game in many levels that is the most your morale will go up. even with all the flags.
unless you farm enemies that is. but it goes up slow so youll have to kill quite a few to reach morale 20. and if you die at the boss you're back at 10.
only if you die 20 times
Say New Game PLUS you fucking stupid ESL. How is that hard? New game PLUS. NG+. Holy shit I hope you die.
because gays consider new game plus a new game after first new game plus, fgt.
god thats so fucking stupid
Don't listen to this guy, in NG+ you still get 20 base morale if you get all the flags, bosses just start at 25 morale instead of 20 so you need to chip them down by breaking their posture to even your morale.
Dong Zhuo is from Kazakhstan
>a team of women
>against THE FATHER OF NTR
He's the first instance of "ugly fat bastard fucking your bitch." You should have made a man. Women and trannies are instantly Dong'd.
lol I just noticed now that you pointed out they are all woman. why do gays love creating wifus so much? its weird man, I'll never get it.
I wouldn't make a waifu in a game that has fucking Dong Zhou in it. It's like asking to be cucked.
you say that like getting cucked by lu bu isn't the most famous incident involving dong zhuo
first guy is a man akshshually
>He can't do anything if we all gang up on him at on-ACK
My favorite boss was Zhiao Piao General of Things
For me it was Sum Ting Wong
>Dong Zhou isn't a disgusting fat fuck
gay.
>why isn't this completely different IP made by a completely different developer not the same as the other?
This is what you sound like
Dong Zhuo is a gross fat fuck in like every Three Kingdoms media, fuck off retard. You think Dynasty Warriors is the only Chink Kingdoms shit around?
He was strong as fuck in the book and Cao Cao was too much of a pussy to fight him head on.
being 5 morale ranks under these bosses makes a huge difference tbh
you literally take 90% more damage
Is there a single offensive earth spell worth using other than slab?
Fiend vanquisher is pretty fun and applies stone ailment fast. You just have to go in a straight line
Lion's Roar is so OP that it goes from defensive to offensive.
Fucking hell I wish I could use it but I need some weird ??? Requirement.
bro do the wizardry unlock quest under "Other"
you need to do the wizardry submission. go to map and check the missions under tutorial
I don't have it
you'll unlock it eventually.
But I need it now
have a nice day
Haha have a nice day haha!
How so? I thought it was pretty useless for pve. Is the damage reduction bigger than enhanced defense?
its the fact that it makes opponents lock on and face you without being able to run for a second or two.
Boulder knuckle can do hilarious amounts of damage at low health, especially if combined with the fire spell that increases the damage of your next MA/spell.
Post some Wo Longs
I got microdick and the gout
same but diabetes instead of gout
Same but lupus
How do the pandas work? I thought I'd have to be playing NG+ to get 5* accessories, but I just got one from a Part 7 mission by dropping a shitty 3* helm.
I think thats exactly how they work. pure rng.
Do any of the metal spells deal decent direct damage or are they all just applicators for debuffs?
poison definitely kills if not cured while fully debuffed. its the build I use the most in pvp since just farting gas clouds and easily killing opponents who have no idea what to do about it is fun.
That melee range spell that scales with damage can be pretty decent, but it's not good until you grab a bunch of "inflict X on Y" effects on your equips.
There’s a spell that cleanses debuffs and does damage based on debuffs cleansed it can get kind of cheesy since you can get debuff on martial art or use the poison fart divine beast for constant application
Molten Calamity Thorn
Calamity thorn does good damage if they have a decent amount of debuffs on them. Venom snare also does decent dot damage in addition to a basically guaranteed poison proc for even more dot damage. Other spells are meh for damage.
What's the best way to farm levels? Just beat the game, i'm level 93 and I want to get max level without using cheat engine shit so I can properly test out damage on everything
just play through NG+, you should be around 140 after finishing
Do the spells scale with the levels? Like if I go all in on metal. Poison will proc faster and do more damage?
Spell damage and ailment accumulation rate scales with their respective element attack stat which in turn scales with their respective stat.
So yes, going all in metal should make metal spells hit harder and poison proc faster though I don't think the actual damage of the poison ailments will increase.
Thanks. I just tried out the poison and yeah it procs faster but even then it doesn't work much on the boss. Barely any damage despite metal beating wood.
I like if you just happen to hit attack at anytime the enemy just decides to do unblockable shit on a whim and armors right through it. That's what you want out of an action game. To be deathly hesitant to push any buttons and like you know...do the combat? Great fuckin game.
its why the martial arts suck. you can only treat this game like a dark souls r1 festia with sekiro parry spam on top. dumb
>Do a long animated move
>WOOOOOOOOW HOW CAN THE ENEMY JUST HIT ME
the martial art is shit but you're even more retarded for using it.
>starts the fight with a flashy martial art that leaves him wide open
lvl capped in stupidity
Maybe don't use a martial arts with a long ass start up time on an enemy that isn't spirit broken or recovering from fatal strike?
Try something like Guan Yu's unique one instead and you'll find that some of them can be very useful.
do they really need to put some fucking tutorial pop-up somewhere in the game that says "This is a game about CAREFUL aggression" before you guys finally begin to understand what (You) are doing wrong?
Martials are weirdly more effective against monsters. Some enemies, like that one you posted are programmed to spam critical attacks over and over. Human enemies, they clearly wanted you to deflect them.
Imagine getting filtered by (and bitching about) a curved sword soldier.
Literally the most basic of human enemies in the entire game.
In fact, it's so basic that a curved sword soldier is the very first enemy you meet in the very first mission of the game that introduces you how to attack.
I was originally going to give you a (you) but after thinking about it, I changed my mind, because it's clear you're just pretending to be retarded as bait. No one makes it that far in the game being genuinely that retarded.
>how do I get more accolades?
cyberbully level 30s, half the time they manage to kill themselves on monsters anyways.
Is it better to do spirit damage or damage?
there's no reason you can't do both
I should clarify.
There's
+ spirit damage to enemies with poison
+ Damage to enemies with poison
+Doxin damage
damage. it's not sop where a full break bar is a kill, you still need to deplete hp once they're out of spirit and fatal attacks already feel weak as shit in ng+.
this game is not for you. go play something else.
Yeah I'm on this boss right now. I'm just fucking lobbing toxic shits at all the fuckers and wittling their health down while running around
The main body doesn't flinch, you're getting swarmed by attacks, and you think the answer is to keep mashing light attack instead of deflecting and building up spirit to make your only opening actually count.
poast wo longs
>all those watermarks
but why?
I dunno
You're simply at the mercy if enemies wanna attack through your shit. Need proof...? You're not safe pressing buttons in this game. In a game about pressing buttons. The game doesn't want you to do the combat. Think about that. An action game disincentivizing action.
really losing motivation with ng+. my build is really strong and I already know where everything is and it doesn’t seem like any items or enemies have changed, everything just has 5 levels more morale than ng but besides that it’s totally the same.
you have what anon? 100 hours+ in the game? maybe more? maybe take a break till dlc. no game lasts forever.
It feels so strange revisiting a lot of these missions on NG+.
When I first went through missions like Centuries of Glory Burned and Darkness Over the Hanshui River, they felt like really long levels. But now that I'm replaying them, they're actually kind of short.
With Darkness Over the Hanshui River in particular, I probably spent close to 1.5 hours to maybe even 2 hours just getting to the boss on my first, blind playthrough of the game on NG.
But replaying it while remembering all the flag locations and knowing where the enemy ambushes are, I think I reached the boss within like 30-40 minutes playing at a pretty casual pace.
At first, I hated the pacing of Darkness Over the Hanshui River and thought it was too long. But now it just feels right.
It gets even faster.
Oh yeah, I'm sure it will. I remember after playing the pre-release demo of the first two levels that I managed to basically get all flags down in the second level within like 15ish minutes. And I wasn't even speedrunning. I was just making a beeline for each flag and only fighting enemies that were in my way.
I remember spending probably half an hour looking for the last minor flag in the Fall of the Corrupted Eunuch for my first playthrough. Turns out it was a flag near the very start of the game in the whole prison area. Thank goodness for Mystic Cranes allowing me to teleport right back to the major flag before the boss so that I didn't have to manually run back all the way from the start of the level.
Most of my time on new maps was spent looking for flags. Of that, probably 80% of it was spent looking for one flag in particular.
>get to the capital level
>absolutely demolish the boss
>cutscene plays
>new character comes on screen
>mfw eggman starts talking
what the fuck
that lightning guy with the wings on his back is the IZA of this game
A bit of that and a bit of Shima Sakon for me.
Being someone who learns enemies by relying on blocking, Zhang Liao kicked my ass because his lightning sword and spear combos add chip damage. And unlike Lu Bu's fire halberd attacks being removable with water magic, you can't remove the elemental damage with poison magic. You just have to knock him out of his Living Weapon state.
why are damage dealt and damage received in perfect condition not embeddable?
god i fucking hate NG+ Zhang Liao
Wait these are real people.
there's npc invaders that will show up even with invasions turned off
Fastest way to grind bond levels? I'm out of cups.
I did this https://youtu.be/ihjBQ73Xxjc
there's probably a better mission mid-game or late-game depending on where you are, but you only need like 6 of them anyway
WAIT YOU CANT DO TOXIN DAMAGE % + TOXIN DAMAGE on the same armor piece? The fuck.
you can, element % is a red triangle and flat ele attack power is a circle. other than circles you can only have one of each shape on a piece of gear.
Oh fuck I just found out about the little arrows. I have a permanent one on my headpiece that's a red arrow so I can't apply another one. Shame.
ooooh. thx.
I dont know anon. In my head not ever piece of gear is able to have toxic damage %.
I personally did all gear with toxic attack power + poison accumulation on enemy + negative effects duration on enemy
Okay, finally finished this game. For reference, I did beat Nioh 2 (not on NG+, so maybe I didn't really beat it), and thought it was okay. I was excited for wo long, because it looked more like Sekiro 2. Considering that, I also thought this game was okay, also. Overall, I like the subgenre of reflection-based soulsborne games, but this one really is just a worse Sekiro. Obviously, if you wanted this game to be Nioh 2, you'd be disappointed.
Things I liked:
>Item system is vastly improved from Nioh 2's pointless autism (Simple + level, can change the item effects)
>Tying magic into the "normal" stats is fun
>It actually feels like there are some things worth finding on the maps (compared to Nioh 2)
>Making the (first) time you find a bonfire refresh your flasks without respawning enemies is nice
Things I hated:
>Item system is still pointless autism
>Mortal blows have been turned from simon says into "simon says circle"
>Attacks do basically nothing
>Blocking also really doesn't matter except for critical blows
>Jumping in combat is somewhere between pointless and actively harmful
>Like half the bosses just run away and shoot magic at you
>Tying magic to moral is stupid
>The magic in general is pretty boring
The only spell I really liked was the water one that makes you dodge further away. It was legitimately a useful movement option, and felt like it made "water" feel like a distinct playstyle. Earth has the spell that makes your blocks give stone, and fire has the spell that makes you deal and take more damage, but neither of those really feel as interesting because not getting hit and blocking attacks is how you should be playing regardless of element.
>It was legitimately a useful movement
huh? I haven't used it myself but I really don't see the point of waiting a skill slot for what essentially is a slightly better dodge, especially considering dodge is somewhat useless in this game, except for getting away from enemies, which default dodge does a pretty good job at already
I bet my opinion would change if I played NG+ where I suspect elemental effects are more important, or maybe magic generally gets stronger, so giving up a spell slot feels bad, but I really liked it. If things ever went bad, blinking backwards a few times and healing was generally pretty fool proof. I also liked it in hectic fights when I was surrounded by mobs (I ended up doing this intentionally, since dragging mobs out 1 by 1 is too easy and boring), since it actually teleports though enemies, unlike the normal dodge.
what's your agility? I feel like I can do all of that with default dodging as well, never felt like it wasn't enough
I may try it since I have 40 points in water anyway, but I do wish we could have more than 4 skill at a time
It's incredibly fast, ignores enemy collision and is almost entirely iframes. It's way better than the regular dodge in terms of getting away but you're still better off deflecting. I never take it off my bar for PvP/invasions.
>can change the item effects
wo long is a step backwards from sop. you could choose the effect just like embedding for the base stats. I have no fucking clue what determines the roll of an embedment in wo long, in sop you could use resources at the blacksmith to improve the roll to its maximum range. fusion from dlc 2 was basically combine two items and go line by line choosing what to keep from the total pool both have which in wo long's case would mean choosing martial arts. I'm sure once all dlc is out in a year they'll readd missing features.
>I have no fucking clue what determines the roll of an embedment in wo long
There is no roll retard. What you can embed is from a pool of any effect you've collected on gear besides special effects which are a limited resource that you can only get from taking off manually or salvaging.
idk how such a simple system flew over your head as you explain the elaborate way to get them in SoP.
>There is no roll retard
explain how on the same piece of gear the second slot could be 17 stone attack power and the third 19 if there aren't ranges.
Wait, you're talking getting gear drop or slotting? Iirc slotting gems already have fixed value
Gear drop has rolls yes, same piece of equipment can have different effects, but you can salvage it and see if the effect gets salvaged too
>salvage result is only for each equipment instead of all of them
Very dumb
Rarity dumbass, that's how it worked in Nioh too. Higher rarity = higher stats on effects. I think accessories are the only exception to this but when it comes to embedment, it's always going to give you the highest stat possible for the rarity of the equipment.
all I know is like sop when you use the blacksmith to choose an effect it doesn't start at the max roll and there's no option to increase it while it can drop with a naturally higher roll.
cont.
Overall, it feels, despite the clear inspiration, Team Ninja completely missed the mark on the more intricate parts of Sekiro's combat, and lost the good parts of Nioh's combat. For example, while probably not 1-to-1, something like a ki pulse could have fit really well into the rhythm based deflection gameplay loop.
Despite having less systems, Sekiro's combat is legitimately more interesting. Unlike posture, spirit has a positive component you can expend. This isn't really that deep of a system though, because blocking / attacking increases your spirit so much, that there isn't really a reason to ever be low in it. Compare this to Sekiro, where even if you deflect, it still increases your own posture. The only catch is that perfect deflects wont cause your posture to break even when your bar is full. This keeps combat a lot more exciting, IMO, since you always kind of at risk. Outside of a few critical blows which one shot me when I missed them, bosses never really felt that threatening in Wo Long.
You don't need positive spirit, even at zero you can spend it as you see fit, just don't get hit since it'll stagger you if you're almost at full negative spirit
okay that looks cool, what skill?
This one, this martial arts is the only reason I stick with this 3* staff since I haven't found any staffs with this martial arts again, really wish we can extract and transfer martial arts. You gotta hit them first then use the martial arts again, some vertical swing would still hit you while you're airborne but horizontal low sweep will definitely misses you
Also keep in mind, human enemies love to roll away after the first jump, and the roll even has i-frame if you manage to corner them so you're gonna stop chaining the pogo jump if you don't hit them
is this the goomba stomp martial art? someone I invaded tried using that.
Yeap
>someone I invaded tried using that.
Date is that you?
I doubt I invaded you unless you play gamepass and got killed by earth magic next to the giant stump in that liu bei mission
Oh not me then, I'm on steam but the invader also love to use the earth spikes
thanks! you have it on a spear right?
imo this game looks better than nioh 2, and has more art design variety
>Item system is still pointless autism
100% I hate the stupid fucking item system in these games. It has never felt meaningful
>Item system is still pointless autism
lol
>Attacks do basically nothing
LOL
>Blocking also really doesn't matter except for critical blows
LMAO
>For reference, I did beat Nioh 2 (not on NG+, so maybe I didn't really beat it),
opinion invalid. come back after clearing dream of the nioh and the depths
nta but whoever decided to put extra content behind ng4 should be shot. fuck you dev I'll be bored way before that.
it was after 2 dlcs. gays will complain when theres too much and when theres not enough. when its too hard, when its too easy. when its too long, when its too short. amazin really. I really wonder what their favorite game is in order to hold any others up to such godly impossible standards.
okay but it doesn't have to be +4 what the fuck. put it at +2 or 3 if you really wanna be an ass, but who the hell is playing the same game 4 times back to to back only to want to START the challenge levels? small wonder the game is forgotten by most honestly.
and thats why they made wo long in such a way that would allow a larger group of people to experience all it had to offer. honestly think wo long is a perfect difficulty balance.
not even close. wo long is too far in the other direction as far as complexity goes and honestly I bet they pull this same shit with the 3rd DLC for wo long because TN are gays that way.
I wonder what wo long's extra mode will be called
wo longer
not ng++, extra mode with infinite spirit for people that say it's too hard
Wo Long doesn't have its DLC yet and will likely be locked behind multiple NG+ difficulties as well.
they might use the model they used for sop, you can do the new missions on the new difficulty right away but it's more or less gear walled so you might need some optional grind first.
there was absolutely nothing wrong with putting endgame behind the ng cycles because you could rush through those in like one day while still playing a good variety of missions. the problem was the underworld which was a pure grind gate to the actual good content because there were 100+ levels of it. the underworld could have been removed entirely and no one would notice or care
>there was absolutely nothing wrong with putting endgame behind the ng cycles
correct. it's putting it past several layers that's the problem.
>the problem was the underworld which was a pure grind gate to the actual good content because there were 100+ levels of it.
nah that's like the whole point of it. you wouldn't get gassed so quick if you didn't have to beat the game 4 damn times to see it.
Isn't that because we already got Nioh complete edition? Iirc each DLC adds new NG+ cycles, so I reckon console player have ample time for each NG+ cycles per DLC while PC player gotta do all of them at once
I don't see why they couldn't have added the underworld earlier. nioh 1's abyss was only ng+ or +2.
Don't look at me, that's how TN wanna do it
Anon I think you're misunderstanding that anon, you just need to do several missions of your choosing to access the next NG+ cycles, you don't have to do them all
the NG cycles were introduced with each DLC, and you barely have to even play each one to go to the next, it's a couple of side missions if you're rushing. you can genuinely just go through all four in a day or two by practicing on some sub mission bosses.
the good content is the depths, which is THE EXACT SAME LEVELS AND LAYOUTS as the underworld but with up to three randomized bosses at the end of the level. the 100+ levels of the underworld are completely and totally redundant due to the 30 levels of the depths being a better and more replayable version of it at less than a third of the size.
you want to talk about repetition, THAT'S the real culprit. with NG cycles you can choose what you want to play but you have no control over the stupid mini level layouts of underworld/depths
and I'm saying if you cut out that first part of going through the same levels over and over, those first 100 underworld levels would just be your ng++ while you can go back to missions as you please.
there would be 0 reason to go back to those levels due to how the game is designed
a huge part of the draw of going deeper into the underworld and the depths is to improve level and consistency of gear drops, it's essentially the only extrinsic motivator for players to actually engage in that content
and before you say anything about it level sync does not work for the systems nioh has in place, it would have to be insanely slated against the player to have the basic levels continue to be a challenge with underworld/depths gear and the jacked up sets available
that's more of a fault of nioh 2's story. doesn't change what I said.
>several
bro I did all missions up through the 4th act in ng+ before I got bored and I don't think I unlocked ng++, and if I did it was just before I quit.
I just listed out pure gameplay concerns
how is that the fault of the game's story
if you did "all missions" including sub missions up through the 4th act you would have done FAR more than enough to unlock the next difficulty so now I know you're just lying if your memory isn't faulty.
first off
>moron
second it's absolutely the story's fault if having pure gameplay and gear grind would give you no reason to back. that just says the missions are shit.
you're completely misunderstanding the point
why would I go back to a default difficulty story mission decked out in full underworld gear, there's no satisfaction in that
and i've started new files multiple times
also you just needed to play the final mission, like I said you've done way WAY more than you ever needed to do to unlock the next difficulty
>why would I go back to a default difficulty story mission decked out in full underworld gear, there's no satisfaction in that
there would be if the story wasn't shit
>also you just needed to play the final mission
I wouldn't skip that way even if I had known that, but that's never stated anywhere. it does explain why that happened when I beat summer osaka though. this doesn't change it being retarded to have to go through this 3+ times over just to reach the actual challenge mode, which you then have to go through 100 levels to get to the fun part. could just cut a few of those ng cycles out no problem.
>there would be if the story wasn't shit
there is 0 purpose in steamrolling missions with completely outleveled gear, this goes for any fucking game, but ESPECIALLY for gameplay-focused ones like nioh. it has nothing to do with story
it's like using high- or g-rank gear on a low rank monster in mh and pretending you accomplished something great. the point of these games is to offer an appropriate challenge to match you at your current level and gear and nioh 2 slacks off super hard on dream of the strong/underworld
like I don't even disagree that there are too many NG cycles but I still hold to the fact that the underworld is a way worse grind gate but you would have absolutely no idea not having actually played the game to that point because you couldn't figure out how to advance past strong
>there is 0 purpose in steamrolling missions with completely outleveled gear, this goes for any fucking game, but ESPECIALLY for gameplay-focused ones like nioh. it has nothing to do with story
I WILL grind pinnacle station gear in ME1 and I WILL have fun thereafter. simple as.
>it's like using high- or g-rank gear on a low rank monster in mh and pretending you accomplished something great.
who's pretending? maybe I just wanted to beat up a anjanath.
the point is fun anon. if pure grind > missions the missions weren't fun.
no disrespect but this kind of game really isn't for you if that's your mindset, so it's kind of a good thing you dropped out before getting to the rest of it
lmao moron I already beat both the niohs, obviously. 1 > 2 but 2 is alright. I'm also on the yuan shao mission in wo long fwiw, just bored out of my mind and trying to gather the will to continue. as I said in my first post on this, the guy who decided to put the underworld behind ng4 deserves to be shot. that's all.
I honestly believe anyone who didn't do a full run of the depths in nioh 2 didn't get their money's worth at all, it tests you in the best ways
I think we can just agree on the depths being locked behind too much stuff, whether it's NG cycles or underworld levels
it's an endurance test, the worst kind of vidya test. though yes we both ere on the test itself being shit, disagreeing on depth (hue).
my favorite game is nioh 2!
>complains about item system
>only played NG where gear doesn't matter
I'm aware it doesn't matter. It's almost like an item system where it doesn't matter until multiple NG+ cycles is a shit system.
>these are the people you share a board with
>Things I hated:
>Attacks do basically nothing
>Blocking also really doesn't matter except for critical blows
In the same post
> ...but neither of those really feel as interesting because not getting hit and blocking attacks is how you should be playing regardless of element.
Let me guess, you don't know what attack and blocking do because you just spam marital art
>because you just spam marital art
>Attacks do basically nothing
They're for building up your spirit so you can do a high spirit spirit attack for more spirit damge to the enemy spirit. Spirit.
Do the buffs on the bow apply to me even though it's only equipped but not being used?
so is this Nioh 3 with a new name?
if only
Nioh but bad. kinda cool if you like Three Kingdoms
It's a pretty shit 3K rendition too tbh.
the worst part is they could've literally asked to borrow one of the writers from the rot3k games
It's the RE3Re of the series.
if Nioh but inspired by Sekiro instead of dark souls, I like it personally
HAHAHA I BEAT THE STUPID BOSS WITH POISON.
just kept spamming it everywhere and all the clones would just stun each other when one died after the other.
good job, you beat wood with its weakness of metel
>metel
Not a word, you autistic fuck lol
toxin is metal anon. the elements are water, fire, earth(stone), wood(lightning), and metal(toxin)
Metal yes, "metel"? No.
lol, didn't notice the typo. also I really wasn't giving you shit, you noticed the stun chaining unlike all the "leave one clone alive" shitters from a few days ago
the hidden village is gay (cringe)
it's also gay (homosexual)
How do I get this treasure chest
shoot the ballista RIGHT where you're aiming.
notice how that structure looks like stairs? you can jump on to it from the lower left
>That one submission where it's just 3 dudes attacking you
Am I crazy for thinking this was by far the hardest fight in the game?
that one is the hardest if you do it legit
just get on high ground and spam that east skill, impossible something where you create spikes in the ground and knock enemies off
i said do it legit, spell sissy/ high ground cuck
no thank you 🙂 why would I do that to myself, what should I do next? Kill Melania without a mimic tear??
How are the Wood phase offensive spells? I've been using Flame Weapon with a few Water phase spells as my go-to loadout, but Lightning is cool so I'm interested in branching out.
heaven's rage is good if it uses the large version, shit if it uses the small version.
how can you guys actually enjoy chinese games?
>complete wizardry training
>Try it out
Holy fuck bros. Holy fuck.
this game looks beautiful and Im tired of pretending it doesnt.
pic not related right?
dead chinamen are a beautiful sight
the textures (and weird glowy blood) look like shit but the characters look nice for some reason
Some areas, like the mission that ends with you fighting Sun Jian with all the shipwrecked parts and the ruined city at the end, look great.
Some areas, like the underground tunnel system in the mission that ends with you fighting Dong Zhuo, look like PS3 titles.
the game has nice particle effects but everything else looks kinda shit
Man, I played through most of the story without realizing this was a thing. I knew that you could swap weapons as part of your combo, but I didn't know it had deflect frames on it.
Its shit so you didnt miss out
it's a neat trick but that's a really dumb title to wear anyway. basically showing your hand.
I don't care about the title either, but looking through the title list was how I found out about that mechanic.
You're also getting some cup of cordiality out of title gathering too
It's actually really good, because it completely resets all your lost spirit. It's very useful to use instead of a regular deflect if you're very low on spirit and an enemy happens to be doing a one hit move instead of a combo.
So if you're at like -900 spirit, then doing the deflect counterattack will bring you back to 0 spirit.
what happens if you kill the lightning dragon thing?
it dies
is there an achievement for it?
In the burning city mission? It flies away if you get its hp below 50%.
I've become too strong that it's unironically not that fun. First time fighting hong jing and I just completely shit all over her without even knowing hardly anything she can do. The last 3 main missions I beat the main boss in 10 minutes (and mostly died to particle effects raping my frames). I'm not over leveled, over geared (game keeps dropping +6 and +7 materials while i'm still using +5), my stat distribution is mostly even.
It really just feels like this game has fucked difficulty balance. Being in light armor is the only thing that makes it somewhat of a challenge making me die in 2 hits but that's somewhat of an self imposed challenge more than anything.
NG+ is the real difficulty and what the base game should have been closer to.
NG is just easy.
NG+ is where the difficulty is at.
99% of human fights can just be cheesed
also armor has very little relevance, just having 5 morale below your target makes you take double dmg, light vs heavy armor is like 10% dmg taken difference
kek I cheesed this insta casting bish like this too
>finished wizardry training
>Decide to get boulder knuckles
>I slow down lu Bu
>I punch him once
>He fucking dies
Holy shit
That ability is actually stronger than it sounds because there are a lot of effects you can put on gear that do something like "[Negative effect] on enemy upon martial arts" or wizardry spell or ranged attack etc so you can stack up a lot of buffs that way then punch them all off them. I haven't experimented with it myself but I think it'd be interesting to try out.
Demon Lu Bu fight was pretty fun
NTA but I like it more than regular Lu Bu. In fact, in terms of human bosses, I think Lu Bu is extremely overrated. Zhang Liao is a far better human boss than Lu Bu.
Personally, I'm waiting for DLC. In the meanwhile, I'm slowly doing a LV1 run of NG+. I can put all my accumulated levels at Zuo Ci and delevel myself to LV1.
I feel like I'm not really working towards anything on NG+
should I still try and get a full 5* build or just wait until DLC?
IMO, no point in slogging through since both Nioh 1 & 2 reduced the requirements to clear a difficulty with each new dlc, better to wait for DLCs then doing extra missions.
The only thing you might want to farm is a -set requirement crossbow since that will likely stick with you for a long time.
>that pic
I still have that thread open in another tab specifically for that post
guess I can close it now lmao
>I still have that thread open in another tab specifically for that post
why wouldn't you copy-paste it into a text editor?
special kind of laziness
>-set requirement ranged weapon
Do you know if this passive effect carries over even if it's not in your main slot? I assume so since it has the same symbol as normal set bonuses. Honestly, idk if there are even any sets I would want two of at the same time. It's technically more sets but god there really aren't any that are that good.
>but god there really aren't any that are that good.
If Nioh 1 and 2 were any indication, there won't be any ones that are that good (and worth farming) until at least NG+3.
Divine graces like pic related are okay, I guess, but nothing as broken as stuff like Acala or Ame No Uzume or Ninigi.
I mean a lot of sets at least had something simple like +5% melee damage as 3 or 4 piece bonus. A lot of the set bonus stats are just so so so underwhelming and hardly anything unique. It's so uninspired.
>Do you know if this passive effect carries over even if it's not in your main slot?
It does.
I'm just playing through NG+ because the game is too short and I want more of it. As for the gear NG builds are good enough for me.
>can't have elemental enchant and spirit damage bonus based on elemental damage on the same weapon
fucking lame
Why does that fucking cow enemy hit so hard? I know they're going to spam that fucker all over in the DLC.
Because it's a shit boss with a shit npc who keeps going down for no reason
>falling for the revive bait
So just for anyone who wants to say that they didn't tone down the loot shit in Nioh.
In Nioh 2, this is everything that contributes to your stats that aren't your literal levels
>Spirit guardian (2nd one contributes 1 passive when not equipped)
>teahouse clan bonus
>1 melee weapon
>1 ranged weapon
>4 pieces of armor
>2 accessories
>1 demon scroll (DLC item)
>3 soul cores
>Set bonuses (which can be used by a weapon you don't have in hand)
>All skill trees have passive bonuses
Not stat related but Nioh also had an abundance of items not directly tied to the onmyo or ninjutsu schools that are actually pretty usable.
The loot system was much more convoluted. Equipment all had levels that more closely matched the players and the only way to raise that level was to use the blacksmith to match it with an item of higher level which became increasingly more and more expensive the larger the gap in levels were and I think (might be wrong) how often you've done this on a specific item. You could change the effects of items to a degree but it still had a level of RNG where you're just mashing away to get the right effect you want. There is also the familiarity system which isn't complicated but it's just one more thing to bloat shit up. Also, accessories, soul cores, and scrolls can not have their effects changed without a system that completely rerolled all effects. Garbage.
So yes, Wo Long greatly reduced the loot autism.
>Spirit guardian
>1 melee weapon
>1 ranged weapon
>4 pieces of armor
>2 accessories
>Set bonuses (which can be used by a weapon you don't have in hand)
all this is in, removing gear levels is nice but we have no idea what dlc bullshit will be added yet.
The fact that RNG is no longer part of "tempering" in this game already makes loot autism far more bearable. Plus, what's great is that once I've "tempered" something like Flame Enchant, I can always remove it and put it on another weapon if I want.
Is lu bu strong againt poison.
Use ice pleb. He uses fire
he's strong against metal
Hmmm. So my poison should be working.
No, you dumdum. Poison = metal.
Follow your chink elements.
Fire>Metal>Wood>Earth>Water>Fire
Characters that use X element will typically be immune/highly resistant to X and moderately resistant the next element in the cycle but weak to the previous element in the cycle. Lu Bu uses fire so he's highly resistant to fire and, less but still, resistant to metal as well.
>dude lets make end game sets with more copper more morale and enemy detection thats hecking pog
retarded ass devs
>helping randoms in coop
>someone invades
>they have 25 morale while we have 11, and spam infinite crossbow arrows at us
NO idea why anyone would keep invasions on for PC
>poison = metal
>wood = lightning
>water = stealth
what are these goddamn chinks smoking?
the five phases is a simplified form of the eight trigrams, the interactions between those puts pokemon to shame
>eight trigrams
the what?
the actual chinese alchemical elements, the five phases is just the cycle of nature while the eight trigrams includes parts of the heavens like wind and lightning.
I WILL GO FIGHT NG+ LUBU WITH 4 MORALE WISH ME LUCK
>finish my first playthrough
>reinstall nioh 2
>continue my 100% run
the games a solid 8/10 but all it did was make me want proper nioh so that's nice
>deflect red attack
>time to dump my maxed out spirit on this fucker
>instantly goes into a second red attack to hyper armor through my spirit attack
thank you game very cool
I just realized that you can travel out of a mission and go to the village and then travel back into the last flag you rested in a mission. Holy shit this is a game changer.
Yes, it's great, but be careful though because it has some caveats.
For example, if you're currently on the Lu Bu mission in the story and you're at the final flag and you decide to return to the village to respec. If you go back to the Lu Bu mission, the game will return you to that final flag where you left off.
Great, right?
Well, let's say you decide to replay that Lu Bu mission later down the line when you are way ahead in the story. You reach the final flag and decide to go back to the village. If you try to go back to the Lu Bu mission, the game will not return you to that final flag.
>join random co-op
>all 3 of us are using soaring phoenix glaive
is it really that good?
It's got a fixed martial art that allows players to basically mario bounce off of an enemy's head while doing modest spirit damage.
It's fixed martial art is good and flexible.
Quick, covers a long range, decent damage and can be chained into itself.
how does stranger of paradise play compared to this and nioh?
similar to wo long but you'll actually hit triangle mid combo
My Geralt :]
How this game compared to Nioh? I really loved Nioh, would i love this game too?
not necessarily
I love nioh and nioh 2 and I think this game is a 6/10 at best and dropped it 3/4ths of the way through NG+ when I finally stopped huffing copium. My opinion of it went down the longer I played.
>huge technical issues
>huge camera issues
>combat not as fun as Nioh/2
>morale system is half-baked
>some weapons too samey
>Chinashit just isn't as interesting to me as nipponshit
>enemy variety felt like it was a lot worse than Nioh/Nioh 2 but I could be misremembering those.
did you play the niohs on pc or console? wo long feels like an early access game currently.
Nioh 1 console, Nioh 2 PC, however I played both once they were fully complete with all the DLCs. I am taking some of that into consideration, but it doesn't mitigate Wo Long's problems much in my mind.
morale is the big one and it could be mitigated through fortitude on ng++ being set at 20
variety felt like it was a lot worse than Nioh/Nioh 2 but I could be misremembering those.
It's definitely worse. Enemy variety was also an issue with Nioh 1 which they greatly remedied in 2, but now we're back to 1's tier, probably even worse.
