Then whoever uploaded the last nightly hasn't done anything for windows. Shit's open source, nobody working on it is obligated to do everything in equal measure.
Seems kinda dumb to run nightly software on Windows, given, that the repositories that handle windows software are often behind. Not to mention the Windows version of PCSX2 is missing a few good features and support for open graphic libraries. Windows version also has shit compatibility.

As long as it works I don't care. I also don't give a shit about the PS2 and the handful of games I've emulated had little to no issues, and every other emu I've used from the last decade doesn't have these disparities.

Well if its working for ya, yay I guess. So glad gaming on Linux is comfy tho, windows can't even its own d9x software.
Why do you run Linux software on Windows? You don't even get proper openGL, Vulkan, or UI support on the windows version. Why not just install gentoo? You can run all the PS emulators better on Linux.
Why does that matter? You're not going to be able to play GT3 on any of Sony's modern systems and they will instead force you to play GT (current version).
if your computer has a disc drive you can load the games off of the real discs, though the loading times will be worse than just dumping the games. pirating games is illegal, but playing your legally owned games on an emulator isn't.
Why would you want to play GTA SA and NFSU2 on a PS2 emulator instead of your fricking PC?
And NFS Carbon? Really? That game was utter dogshit even back then.
This shit is driving me crazy, some people say this emulator is garbage and unplayable, others say it's fine...
What should I do, buy a PS2 despite all the problems(change optical disc drives, battery replacement, SBM with a router, ethernet adapter and hard drive...) or build a good PC?
Seriously why PS2 is such a pain in the ass? Look at the Wii for example, you can buy one really cheap, hack it with a pendrive, connect an external hard drive by USB, and you can play Wii and Game Cube games perfectly beside emulators. If you prefer emulation over original hardware you can emulate Wii and GameCube almost perfect with a cheap PC.
Its garbage on on Windows, but it works fine on GNU/Linux and BSD systems. The windows version is missing features due to microsoft breaking open graphic libs in favor of selling dx11 libs on windows as a key factor. If you want the best version, of PCSX2, Duckstation, and PCSX3, you have to run Linux. There's a reason it runs in QT KDE backends.
and troonix is already a huge waste of time by itself

Windows, on average breaks more than any other OS tho. Windows has never been known to be stable, nor can it run its own software from a few years ago. Can't even play SimCity 4 on windows without it breaking. Shit just runs on linux with no effort.

Post a screenshot of Windows 11 running Sid Meyer's Trains.
i have a 10 years old toaster and get 60 fps on 3x native(1080p) with fxaa and AF x16 and on some games i can even go higher with x6(4k) so why would i change OS to boost so little my performances?
I can run games on an Intel Nuc that can't run on Windows at all so idk, I think dues to your ability to minimize cpu usage on linux you get some games working that would struggle on windows.
you have to tweak the settings individually for each game to get them perfect. and it's probably always going to have some visual glitches.
just do both, why is it either or. if you want a PS2 with a big hard drive full of games, do it. if you want a PC that can do pretty much anything, then do it.
the same couldn't be said about your penis, however.

Why do you use an emulator to run GTA SA? Were you filtered by the mod installing?
it used to have issues in pcsx2 so i'm testing it. also i just grabbed this off google
>no Jak 2
Anon...
>game sets itself to Japanese everytime on boot up
Why
For whatever reason it likes selecting the JPN BIOS by default. You have to go to the settings and manually select an NA version to use.
Jak 2 runs without issues on the current dev builds. 3 has texture issues, particularly in the wasteland segments.
Jak 2 and Jak 3 had a bunch of problems the last time I tried emulating them. Then again that was like.. 3-5 years ago
What version of PCSX2 am I supposed to use to get this UI?
UI is customizable on Linux.
who asked?
Qt nightly builds
Why is the Windows version behind the linux version? Did they not make the recent updates for windows?
stable builds are always behind nightly builds, for obvious reasons
the average moron who just clicks the big DOWNLOAD button is often getting something years out of date
Nope. The Nightly build for Windows is behind the Linux build.
Then whoever uploaded the last nightly hasn't done anything for windows. Shit's open source, nobody working on it is obligated to do everything in equal measure.

Its QT version running on Windows so it's using some KDE backend shit.
Behold, the entire catalog of every single game that works on PCSX2. It's not a big catalog, but it's a catalog.
Why do you run Linux software on Windows? You don't even get proper openGL, Vulkan, or UI support on the windows version. Why not just install gentoo? You can run all the PS emulators better on Linux.
because I'm not gay and like playing other games
So you run the inferior version of PCSX2 for that reason? lmfao windowiggers rly...
Unlike the lunatic spammer I've never had issues with it after getting a proper computer.
OpenGL is a meme.
>proper computer
>uses GoyBoi Windows like a good consoooomer
try again in english please

tell me about consuming or goyboy or whatever the frick you consider language again?

why does pcsx2 look a lot like duckstation now?
Ia this legal, becasue there is nothing more than i want to do than to play GT3 one last time....

Please don't be asking if emulating is legal
How does Ratchet and Clank run?
forward on the left analog stick

>Wrath of Cortex
I know that's not a very good game, but I get the strangest urge to replay it whenever I see it posted on here.
that recent update that made everything run a 1/3rd faster and in some cases twice as fast, really helped
This shit is driving me crazy, some people say this emulator is garbage and unplayable, others say it's fine...

Linux is a pain in the ass too
Only if your IQ limits you from reading.
yeah anon i am sure that learning a new OS to get 10% more performance is totally worth it lol
Whats so hard about it?
justifying the tremendous waste of time just for pcsx2

why would someone lie on the internet?
Emulators often run better on the platforms they're developed for. Its Science, Jamal, the statement alone is above your pay grade.
you can get freemcboot on a memory card or load it onto an HDD if you have a fatty ps2
you can burn dvds and play them or have them play through your ethernet on SMB
you have to tweak the settings individually for each game to get them perfect. and it's probably always going to have some visual glitches.
just do both, why is it either or. if you want a PS2 with a big hard drive full of games, do it. if you want a PC that can do pretty much anything, then do it.
are you better off using pcsx2 for the need for speed games?
How does the punisher game run? or am I better off getting the PC version from an abandonware site?
works fine
already got a ps2
