Cid has been on the side of Eorzea for years, and Nero still owes the WoL big time. I'm pretty sure making something at least a bit fancier than a wooden chair on wheels is well within the capacities of either those two. Frick, Nero even made his own power armor, it could be within his ability to make some kind of exoskeleton that could at least emulate basic walking function even if he couldn't make something combat-ready.

iirc healing worked by restoring aether, you can restore the balance in the body and heal wounds but can't revive people or grow missing limbs
in XIV, "healing" magic all functions as super-charging the body's natural healing process. So, open wounds start closing, lost blood is replenished, that sort of thing. You can't use magic to create/regrow body parts, or restore any sort of damage that wouldn't heal over time. This also means that any diseases that won't go away naturally, and instead require specific outside cures, are basically unaffected by healing magic. You can ease the symptoms, but you can't cure.
Reviving someone from the dead is wholly impossible, without just turning them into an undead, or a Voidsent-posessed monster. Several questlines go over this. The "rez" that we have in game is actually the player just jump-starting the body to kick the target out of being knocked out. That's why you respawn with Weakness, you're literally getting smellingsalt'd awake and expected to function.
That's why chirurgeons and surgeons, alchemists and healers are fricking everywhere still in XIV. You need surgery to fix problems, and cures for diseases. Also, we haven't seen any prosthetics yet, so, no robo-legs for anyone.

I think the reason that hasn't happened (yet) is that Arenvald is portrayed as convalescing. It's a very common image of someone in a sanitorium or hospice being in a wheelchair whilst they're recovering. Uh, no. Coming back as undead is still coming back, and shadowlands is not an actual afterlife. You can die in the shadowlands and apparently nobody knows what happens afterwards. Moreover, death, combat, currency, and literally everything works exactly identical to regular life. Basically, they turned the afterlife into a different planet and used that as an excuse to resurrect everyone while not technically resurrecting them. It's still a revolving door of characters, and it's resurrection in every way except they don't call it that.

Draka's moronic fricking pre-expansion cinematic showed that Maldraxxi can just waltz back into the realm of the living if their job is to do so. The only time shadowlands people go into reality are

5. a quest in the ptr where shadowlands people were in stormwind but it was deleted

Honest question but why do all of that with a wheelchair and not another apparatus? I recognize that it's some extremely tone deaf means of appealing to disabled fans, but if a character simply cannot walk, why not opt for some other magical device as a replacement? I've seen hover-thrones, all manner of magical power armor, replacement legs in the form of various creature components, or even characters who simply float at all times via magic and do not touch the ground because their legs don't work. I remember even seeing the oh-so simple answer of "Catching a ride on a much bigger and stronger companion". You can even ride horses with paraplegia.
So what is the logic behind combat wheelchairs other than some corporate moron's attempt at being more "socially conscious" than their contemporaries?
Wheelchairs are conspicuous signs of disability as it exists as a modern identity. Stuff like blind monks and amputee pirates are established historical tropes. When someone sees them they don't think about those characters as a "minority", for lack of a better word. Wheelchairs aren't the only way to do this but it's almost certainly the most heavy handed, and therefore easiest, way to market yourself as caring about disabled people.

I don't know how it is in WoW, but in D&D raise dead is 5th level, while regenerate is 7th level, so there are people who can bring back the dead yet not able to mend a broken spine.

Level scaling means that as you level up you'll see yourself get noticeably weaker and the TTK will rise exponentially. The story will leave you simultaneously bored and overwhelmed.

I know it wasn't really shown that well because of the nature of the expansion, but how much of Erozia was actually KO'd by the song? If every monster is a single person is to be believed then during the vanaspati dungion after the 2nd boss just by looking at the sky you can see that at least a few dozen thousand people were killed.
It's hard to know, because non-human sentients (i.e. the vast majority of monsters, plus wandering animals) would logically also be affected by the song and inflate the numbers.
It was stopped before it got crazy out of control, and it was said it hadn't started to effect the wildlife or land yet
Thankfully with all the bullshit in the game before that point most of the world was already pretty saturated with hopium and despair was in kind of short supply, so only a couple places got hit super hard

Nobody who is crippled is asking for this. This is corporate misunderstanding of other corporate decisions (mistakes). Some people posted Arenvald for FFXIV earlier, and he's literally in no way, shape, or form treated as some kind of brave hero for being crippled. He's treated as a hero because he wound up fighting something devastating that physically broke him, but spiritually and emotionally he's never given up on trying to help while also having been around since ARR. Nobody knows what the frick that thing in the OP is, but it being in a wheelchair literally defines "arbitrary".
