Worst game you ever played on this console?

The Genesis was a beast in its prime & was the best selling Conde at one point. What was the crappiest/worst game you ever played on this back then? Also, would you try it again, even if someone paid you $10 per hour?

It's by no means the worst Genesis game but I actually cried in disappointment at how crappy the X-Men game was in 1993.

I do not enjoy columns or sonic spinball. Eternal champions stands out in my mind, but maybe that was just kid hype, either way, we didnt like it.

Pagemaster but close 2nd is The Lion King.

No I'm not joking. Very few Genesis games had saves and The Lion King is no exception plus it had an insanely difficult level 2 to make renting it impossible to complete. It also made it impossible to enjoy it if you own it.

I got lucky to have Dynamite Heady at least.

Lion King is nowhere near that bad or difficult. Try playing it as an adult, just roar at the differently colored monkeys it's a cinch

I didn't get any bad games, even Thomas the fookin Tank Engine was decently entertaining.
However, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, as fun as it is, basically felt impossible, which was quite frustrating if you ever got in the mood to actually beat it.
I wouldn't mind trying to beat it (especially for $10 an hour) if I could use beginning-of-level savestates (don't give me that password nonsense you know that doesn't work out)

      Maybe Dark Castle?
There might be games I like even less, but that's because they belong to genres I don't care about. For 10 dollars I would play it again though.

From my experience, best way of beating Zombies without savestates is to use a password, but instead of using the last one you use the one for level 37. This way, you can collect extra weapons in order to face the last levels. At least it worked for me.

Spinball is terrible. Probably the worst physics in a pinball game I've played, and as a Sonic game it looks and sounds weird.

The worst Genesis game I've spent any decent amount of time with is probably the first Jurassic Park. A lot of the concepts are good, but the game just controls like shit, with inconsistent collision detection and random slowdown, and the music is awful.

Eh, Ex-Mutants is just mediocre. Obviously you'd only rent it because you liked the X-Men, and it definitely doesn't live up to the Sega X-Men games, but it's okay. Far from the worst game.

    >What was the crappiest/worst game you ever played on this back then?
On real hardware? Super Thunder Blade or Budokan I guess, the former is a bad port, and the latter is a late 1980s PC game port and I don't like 99% of those late 1980s / early 1990s PC games.

    >Also, would you try it again, even if someone paid you $10 per hour?
    No.

Art Alive, played it at a friend's house and it was atrocious. Didn't even come with a mouse like mario paint (which is also not that great)

Anyone ever play Osomatsu-kun Hachamecha Gekijou?

I used to have a little book from Beep!Megarive or some MD magazine back then with all the games published up to that point. This game I think was the lowest rated title in the volume. Possibly even lower than Sword of Sodan, else it wouldn't have stuck out for me. Since it was a Japan only release, probably not as well known in the west.

It was kind of boring but not bad enough to the point where it infuriated me. The visuals were cool at lease

One of the MD's launch titles in Japan. They meant it to use 4 megabits but due to a shortage of 4 megabit ROMs the game had to be shoehorned into 2 megabits.

I have an original cartridge with box somewhere.

As already mentioned, it's a launch title for the system. And it captures the randomness and pointless gag stupidity of original anime/manga pretty well so I guess we can have some mercy on it. Still not a good game, though.

There was one game I played that I can’t remember the name of but it had to do with a wolf. It was the worst game I’ve ever played. I’d have to look it up.

I’d you want to play a really good game that wasn’t very popular give Kid chameleon a try. It was a cool game (and probably ahead of it’s time).

    Spider-Man & X-Men in Arcade's Revenge.
It looks good, sounds superb and has great controls... which is why I hate it so much, it managed to do almost everything right and genuinely be a good video game, but it's all worthless because the level design is bad as taking away your lives is its only focus, also it went for no continues because of course it did.

Out of all the games I remember I know of 3 "Bad" games, and I didn't even think they were that bad really.
    Bubsy 1
    Batman Forever
    Sonic 3D Blast
I know the funny youtubes guys say they were shit, but I didn't think they were that bad.
    >Bubsy 1
I found it amusing that there are so many ways to die and so many death animations, losing didn't feel bad. Though I've never beat it because of some of the later bosses just start throwing random shit everywhere.
    >Batman Forever
I want to enjoy this game but even with a 6 button controller the controls are just way to complex for a beat-em-up style game. Some of the bit crunched sound clips are like burned in my brain like "GUUUUD" and "IF THE BAT WANTS TO PLAY, SOUFFLE!" (we'll play)
    >Sonic 3D Blast
Instead of go fast and jump on robots you are bird delivery. God forbid if a random fire hydrant shoots one of the birds and you have to search the WHOLE FRICKING ZONE to find it again.
Would I try them again? Maybe. Bubsy, Sure I guess. Batman Forever, Probably not without some sort of romhack or some way to make the controls not shit. Sonic 3D Blast, I mean despite me b***hing about it, I have beat it, maybe I should try the Sonic 3D Blast DX Romhack that was made by an actual developer back then.

Genesis has some awful stuff on it. Most of the worst games are because of stupid extreme nes levels of difficulty except worse

Still can't hate it because of how original it was back then. Plus it's funny how it's relevant (because more creativity) and no one cares about it
