Worst RPG of all time? Eh. Worst AAA RPG of all time? It's definitely a contender. Nearly everything the game presents to you is handled in such a shit way. Dialogue? All voiced. Poorly. Combat? Whack-a-thon level scaled mess. Stories? Generic, badly written, linear and overly cinematic for braindead children. Quests? I hope you like the mindless combat, cause killing a million enemies is usually what they consider a quest in this game. If not a combat gauntlet, the quest will be probably be a pointless and simple gimmick to entertain children. Leveling? Nothing wrong with it in a vacuum, encourages grinding I guess, but paired with the level scaling it becomes one of the most baffling systems ever seen in a mainstream RPG.
It's like nothing they intended to work a certain way actually ended up how they wanted it to. It's a huge fricking mess and it's too bad there's so many nostalgiagays for it who like it because they thought it looked pretty on their shitbox in 2006.

Morrowind and Oblivion with mods is Ganker-core. Vanilla Oblivion and Skyrim are shit games only enjoyed by the most casual of normalgays. If this fact upsets you, you can always go back to plebbit.

I'm 39 and I played the last 3 TES games at release. I didn't like Skyrim at launch, but revisiting it years later with all the mod support made it my favorite of the 3.

Oblivion has cool armors, lore, guilds, character creation and cities. Knights of the Nine as well. It doesn't fulfill its promises, not when it comes to Cyrodiil and Oblivion's realization, (why would Boethiah live in a barren shithole?) but you get gorgeous set pieces all the same. On a technical level, it's a very daring game, hence the bugs. Certainly not one for trannies.
It feels very soulless. Running around in the copy pasted woods and finding copy pasted caves you swear you've been through before (and you may have, lol respawning enemies and lewt) is an impressively boring feat coming off of Morrowind. Barely anything in Oblivion feels creative or impassioned, it's all boring tropes and limp writing/design by developers who have zero faith in the player's own abilities as a functioning human being. It takes a lot of blame for the downfall of RPGs as a whole, and the horse armor contributed to the downfall of gaming in general as well. One of the biggest missteps in gaming history.
Reinstalled today, for the first time using a mod that gets rid of the godawful leveling system, the main issue with the game for me. RPGs conoisseurs may have their reasons to hate it, but I like how cozy it is.
I made a grizzled orc repentant veteran, heavy armor swordswoman trying to find her ways through magic, trying to abandon the brutish ways of her past. Chose the apprentice birthsign as it seemed appropriate.
Stealth archer was always OP in Oblivion first. It has pretty good stealth. Skyrim is almost on par. Not like RPGs traditionally have good stealth outside of Deus Ex.
If you want an actual traditional sneaking experience, Morrowind stealth (and Daggerfall) are kinda trash. They're from a different era, really.
Daedric bow + enchanted arrows = pretty OP stealth archer in Morrowind as well. You have to work for it a little harder, but stealth archer is still very powerful TESIII as well.
