How can I reignite me passion for this game? I want to finally get the secret ending and make my mom happy, but the ridiculous RNG of early combat on core is killing me.

There's literally no reason not to rush to Drezen on story difficulty with a mad dog/smilodon combo, and only respec into your actual build and switch to a proper difficulty once you select the mythic.
This is reasonable, but dangerously close to cheating at the same time.
It's only cheating if it's your first playthrough. If you've already beaten that portion of the game properly in the past, nobody cares. Just rush to the portion where relevant choices actually begin.
This is risky because you never know if something crucial isn't missing in that guy's save. Did he buy icy protector in act 1? Did he kill some npc like Hulrun? It's a gamble.
>can't romance the gnome
Stupid fricking devs.
I just downloaded a save from right before you pick a mythic path and started from there
I want to do that as well but I'm waiting for EE
>I'm waiting for EE
Will they voice all dialogs this time? I want to hear more of Camelia's dialogs. Especially certain ones.
i dont have the pull to come back for it either
so i just decided to wait
these games are easy to get burned out on
so sleep on it no need to rush
Just play something else. Why would you want to torture yourself playing this on core? One playthrough, doing most side quests, will take over 100 hours. Can you imagine dealing with the moronic bullshit RNG combat, and later, the enemies with 6 BAJIRION AC for over 100 hours just for a cheevo? Shit's stupid
Nah, game can be autopiloted after merging spellbooks as Angel or Lich. Difficult thing is getting there, so first 30 hours.
>Can you imagine dealing with the moronic bullshit RNG combat, and later, the enemies with 6 BAJIRION AC
>core
I find it baffling people say this for anything beyond what are essentially superboss encounters till you hit Treshold.
Do you frickers run 6 fighters and pick battle medidation or emergency potions as mythic options?
Bad game
I'm in the same position as you anon and after having failed multiple attempts to play again I'm just going to wait for the enhanced edition that will most likely be released.
>Horrible bloated outdated rpg system that has no business baing in a videogame
I've been feeling like replaying again, but I heard something about them making a Final Cut, Enhanced Edition, Directors Cut, Game of the Year Edition or whatever. When is this coming out?
Also post ost
>ridiculous RNG of early combat on core
>Core
>CORE
Anon, what the frick are you doing?
Let's ignore you sucking ass, why do you have to play on core in that case?
>Anon, what the frick are you doing?
I feel as a dirty casual otherwise. I'm no longer twelve playing Neverwinter Nights, I must be smart and patient enough to handle actual DnD/Pathfinder combat.
The comment is about you thinking core is rng bullshit and not something you can trivialize,
Like, I though the whole spiel was about you trying to get bragging rights for unfair or something
I just thought it will be less torturous on my third character. But no, before properly unlocking path, it's all about luck.
No, it's about having a decent party compositions and sensible build options.
Like, maybe I can understand frustration to an extent till you unlock lv 3 spells which happens at lv5-6, but that covers chapter 1 that has like 2-3 challenging encounters and the last dungeon has a few hard encounters but can still be trivialized with an hour long haste.
Level 5-6 is the end of act 1. You need to clean market square before that, plus numerous other things. All this on level 3 and without rest. And my oracle cant cast grease.
>Without rest
You can rest. Tavern defense triggers after at least 2 full days. The things you have to do before it are getting woljif, are recruiting ember (who trivializes quite a few encounters thanks to Slumber hex and her fire spells help handle shadows), help save the Desnites if you want the azata path , Estrod tower and doing Blackwing library.
Market place has exactly 3 tough encounters, one which is optional (vrock and Nabasu after tavern defense) and the Shadows who do strength drain and hit touch AC(though you can still make someone like Woljif have enough AC).
If you rest after every encounter than yes, it's not enough. But anything outside of homes in the market except for the shadoows is standard encounters were you can almost be carried by the companions. Like, make once companion gain levels in a pet class and it becomes even easier (druid, hunter, sacred huntmaster Lann for example with 3 levels of zen archer overall is a solid build too)
Can rowdy rogue trivialize early game as I heard or not?
Early VItal Strike with sneak die is good for a martial, yes.
On the other hand, it's still not a full bab class you have no inherent AB boost the way a slayer does for example, so you still need to connect as you prorgess
>me passion
Man the AC numbers get ridiculous late game, nobody had any hope of hitting shit but Ember just kept rocking Hellfire Ray like it's autohit
Did you have Finnean?
Shatter defenses setup on most characters?
Multiple stackable sources like Shared smites, Bard songs ,skald song etc?
On top of standard mythic bullshit and endgame equipment. A full Bab character can get +80 AB from buffs and set-up
Also dispels. Even incredibly unfair bosses like Playful Darkness and calamity dragon are nothing without their buffs.
Indeed. Not even counting dispells, stacking evil eyes or CC that makes it easier to hit them if not outright killing them.
And you can just play as Angel and spam bolts of justice. They are irresistible and unavoidable.
but where's the fun in that?
Well, if you roleplay as a living wave of cleansing light, then yes.
Any Angel build can coast through endgame. The mass buffs protect you from most shit, Sword of heaven is free quickens at that point or extra 2 attacks,, all damage can become holy, you get +15 to AB just from buuffs/debuffs from spells and halo and Abolish Poison is 50% free damage.
On Hard, my paladin killed everything in 1 or 2 turns (aka, did I get a crit or not).
The mythic Gallu Stormcallers were the most annoying part really, more than the bosses, vavakia vanguards an with 90AC and Khorramadez or whatever he is called.
And that's why you should REALLY take Force Reality above all else, unless you're doing a natural attack stacking meme build and need gore.
Yeah, the stat bloat gets ridiculous in this game. Wish there was a way to change it into something more reasonable. I mean in tabletop AC doesn't really get above 30, even 20 is very much fine.
Yeah I remember I played a lich with some mythic skill that lowered stats when you dispelled an effect from an enemy. There was also an artifact that I think let you choose to roll a 20 on a dispell. Combined they made a lot of bosses quite simple.
But unfortunately there were also enemies that had buffs, but for whatever reason they didn't really count as spells and were just permanent without any possibility of dispelling. Kind of bullshit tbh.
>I mean in tabletop AC doesn't really get above 30, even 20 is very much fine.
You do not get 1/5th of the bullshit the game hands you in the tabletop.
moronic argument.
Just ask poor Echo of deskari who shows up in the last act with 46 AC. Endgame tabletop opponent, feels like a little kid
Real time with pause combat is pure cancer.
Everything after act 3 was SHIT
Hey! Purple city is the best part of the game. We need real planar adventures like this, instead of pseudo-medieval shit where we just help incompetent monarchs and priests.
>Purple city is the best part of the game
LOL
No urgency, cool encounters, a lot of interactions with followers, sexy succubus queen.
Maybe conceptually, but in practice it's a bunch of boring chores with too many load screens and a gimmick that just amounts to even more time wasting when you have to wait for buildings to rotate or rise out of the ground. And every task makes you go through several different areas, naturally. I couldn't get out of Abyss soon enough.
Say what you want, D&D5 and Pathfinder 2 were right to take measures against endless buf stacking.
Combat still to hard early and to easy in late game.
Could be but d&d 5 ends up feeling so dull.
Yeah, the sheer amount of buffs you need to activate for each fight is ridiculous. Good thing you can make a lot of them last 24 hours by the end of the game, but still.
Only angel and lich can achieve this with ease. What if I want to play trickster to humiliate Nocti?
Well, that's for 1round/level spells. Vast majority of important stuff is 1min/level. Even then, there are ways to get to caster level 25, the easiest one being spell master wizard with certain glasses.
I think buff for collecting all storyteller notes give your permanent 2 CL to spells. But it comes in a very late game.
>each fight
You mean each start of an area.
Like, per minute buffs means 20 minute duration and not everything needs the per round buffs. Enduring is a bit of a meme. Just get bubblebuff
You'd need just protection from her mind affecting aura and use trick fate, I guess?
>Wanted to play blood kineticist
>They just throw water, blue water, not even red
What the frick were they thinking
All coolest archetypes you can envision look like shit when you're actually playing. Sneaky rowdy rogue trickster appearing from shadows and cleaving demon in half with her battle scythe? It looks like a child playing with some big stick.
