I remember reading something about how they already considered it but decided it wouldn't sell. I think it was in an interview or something. Also it'd have nothing to do with Nintendo.
Probably if only because Monolith has been doing a lot of fricking gruntwork for them. It's more if Bamco & SE are willing to give the okay and the answer is probably no unless they got paid more than these ~20 year old games are worth.
Gears is a lock for never seeing the light of day, saga is possible but i imagine monolithsoft would push for an inhouse remaster, especially because of the second game.
that sounds awful.
xenosaga was a mediocre ass series that blew all of it's budget on 2 then flooded part 3 with a boss rush meant to extrapolate a dozen hours of gameplay, without even the decency of an exposition dump like xenogears got.
xenogears has disc 2, enough said on how shit it is.
They're fine games for what they were, when they came out, they would be complete garbage, 3/10 barely acceptable now.
Bamco funded the BK remaster on their dime, I'll only see Nintendo footing the bill for a XS remaster if Bamco wants the trilogy to get the XBDE treatment or if the next game Monolith Soft makes is XS.Ep 4
They have a good relationship with Bandai but the xenosaga games is the anti-nintendo series, it's entire design philosophy is the opposite of what Nintendo goes for. Xenogears is more in line but SE are huge c**ts to deal with.
As the other anons, explained, it all depends on Bamco/SE.
Saga might happen. Sure, the remaster idea that was rejected a while ago indeed was denied, but that was then. Now Bamco is actually on board with Takahashi's hype train and hey, they also remastered fricking Baten Kaiton, so it all depends on how that does, but i can at least see it happening
Now gears...yeah, no. I understand that SE and Monolith have terrible relationships and i doubt SE wants to touch the IP beyond doing merch for it. Maaaybe they can do one of those hd2d remasters ala Live a Live but its probably at the bottom of their priority list so i wouldn't put much faith in that idea. Besides, we all know SE would censor the crap out of it.
>Besides, we all know SE would censor the crap out of it.
There isn't even that much to censor in Xenogears. There's like two instances of naked Elly and the sex scene but that fades to black anyway. I guess Miang could get light beams in the intro cutscene.
Xenosaga maybe. Harada said there was no interest but that years ago and he also said he would never give up + Bandai Namco is in the copyright notice for Xenoblade 3. Gears is forever stuck in limbo due to bad blood between Monolift and Squeenix.
>Bandai Namco is in the copyright notice for Xenoblade 3
No shit, the radio in FR has the Vector Industries logo, they can't do that without legal permission. Also are you just forgetting that Kos Mos was in Xenoblade 2?
Xenoblade X ported to Switch would be much more expensive than a Xenosaga remaster. That game was highly specialized to run on the Wii U and nothing else. The Switch uses a completely different architecture from the Wii U. With Xenosaga they could just AI upscale textures, make it 1080p, add shit like accesability options, and call it a day.
It runs on switch with cemu already, like shit but still. Also, everything but x and the zelda games have been ported already. Theres supposedly a mgs4 port coming too. So stop talking out of your ass.
>Switch is powerful enough to just emulate wiiu games
Wtf I don't know why I'm surprised by that I always thought that the switch was just barely stronger than a wiiu.
I would assume it's more the Sawano OST that required Nintendo & Monolith to deal with Sony Music who had the "official OST" be a USB stick with only a handful of tracks that didn't do anything but play those tracks.
>With Xenosaga they could just AI upscale textures, make it 1080p, add shit like accesability options, and call it a day.
If 2 weren't so fricked up I would agree.
It's really just that Bamco doesn't think people will buy Xenosaga. They think people will buy games that have KOS-MOS in them, hence Xenoblade 2 and both Project X Zone games (2 even had her team up with Fiora), but not Xenosaga itself.
I genuinely thought KOS-MOS was the protagonist of Xenosaga all this time, just because she's on all the boxes and gets all the guest appearances. I guess Harada's right.
Yeah, 2 really just completely fricked the series. It was SO bad. 1+2 on DS is essentially reverting 2's entire combat structure to be more like 1. It also answers a bunch more of the questions left unanswered by 1 and 2 on PS2, so it's more like a companion piece, while also hitting the main story beats.
Def wouldn't say it is by any stretch meant to represent any sort of anything other than trying to spread the franchise out to a wider audience cause the DS came out and was a massive success, and the PS2 was firmly, incredibly firmly seated as THE system, that pretty much everyone on the planet owned.
What if Nintendo does work with Bandai Namco to not remaster or even remake xenosagas but completely restart the whole premise as a whole new series that effectively replaces xenosagas but makes a lot of changes to effectively make it less of a mess. It could be called the xenoblade sagas or something along that line.
I mean the wntire events of xenosagas gets retconned by a similar series of gamed with kosmos in a similar setting but with various other changes to the story and perhaps even characters.
They wouldn't because they're not idiots It's like "why buy the cow when the milk is free", except it's "why pay someone else for milk when you own the cow".
The entire Xenoblade series is already bootlegged copies of Xenogears and Saga ideas - except they actually sell consistently. The entirety of Monolith Soft was whipped into shape by Nintendo to turn them from a struggling studio into one capable of actually making successes. Nintendo are currently reaping 100% of what they sowed the way things are going now.
To suggest they would let another company into this cut is insane.
They've basically already done that. They just don't say the "Saga" part out loud.
>xenogears needs a compelte redo of Disc 2 >Xenosaga is a mess with 1 only being like 1/3rd of the game it wanted to be, 2 being made by completely different people, 3 using content that was supposed to be 6 fricking games and making no sense >Soraya Saga doesn't wants to do anything with game development anymore despite her being instrumental to Saga
It's not worth it for any party
>Soraya Saga doesn't wants to do anything with game development anymore despite her being instrumental to Saga
she put up a tweet recently showing interest and wanting to work on stories after she took a long break to raise her kids, but she routinely nukes her tweets so it's not there anymore
The BK remaster has a skip enemy encounters and end a battle in one hit feature, if they just add that to Saga Ep.2 the game itself would be dramatically better.
thats what im trying to point out, It was before the annoucement they werent going to remake it. I got it like 3 months before that annoucement. + this was around precovid. Im trying to find proof by ebay doesnt go back that far. only 3 years
No one asked but heres my entire playthrough from Koudelka - SH3. Recorded it last year. I upload to not feel like im playing by myself. Not that many people watch but its my outlet
Xenosaga is already 100% confirmed with the ending of Future Redeemed.
Xenogears is stuck with Square's moronic decision making.
While Nintendo has managed to get SE to do some thing already like reviving Super Mario RPG with a full remake and also being the ones to convince them to go through with remaking Live a Live.
But Square Enix also made the moronic comment recently that they were going to be cutting back on mid level games and go harder into Triple A development, even though all their Triple A games have been bombing hard and their "Mid level games" have been the ones actually making them money besides FF14.
>Takahashi literally stated that ending of FR would show what's next for Monolith Soft.
X gay still completely mind broken, couldn't even deny being an X gay to begin with.
Nintendo is making bank on the current wave of Xenoblade. The current Xenoblade works in part because the new combat system that Blade 1 made, and because of silly anime tropes. Asking everybody playing Horny Waifu Simulator 3 DLC Edition to try playing the soap opera series of Xenosaga will just turn people off from the franchise. Nintendo doesn't care about game preservation or anything, so there's zero reason to stick it on the Switch.
They certainly aren't going to put out an incomplete game like Xenogears and advertise it as the same franchise as Xenoblade.
what’s going on with xenogears lately? theatrhythm is getting xenogears music, and there’s a bunch of xenogears toys releasing next year
remake imminent?
SE always tries to make money from Xenogears, they release figures like every year or 2 that always end up selling well. But they never port the game to anything the fricking morons.
The games would have to be remade completely to appeal to modern audiences. The first game has over 20 minute cutscenes and todays ADD riddled children could not handle it if people were already complaining about it even back then. Its a shame too because the Xenosaga trilogy is easily the best and most complex JRPG available.
It's not a matter of Nintendo, it's a matter of Bamco/SE.
This. I think Nintendo would. I don't think Bamco is interested and I know for a fact Square-Enix doesn't give a frick.
I remember reading something about how they already considered it but decided it wouldn't sell. I think it was in an interview or something. Also it'd have nothing to do with Nintendo.
Tekken's producer confirmed that a Xenosaga remaster was proposed but failed market analysis
Merely remastering the XS games is pretty much guaranteeing they won't sell, the only way they would is with proper remakes
A Xenosaga trilogy would fail, but they still released a .Hack trilogy?
They also think a Baten Kaitos remaster would do better
baten kaitos is already coming out.
I know, that's why I said that
Probably if only because Monolith has been doing a lot of fricking gruntwork for them. It's more if Bamco & SE are willing to give the okay and the answer is probably no unless they got paid more than these ~20 year old games are worth.

why would they fund ports?
They have a good relationship with Bandai but the xenosaga games is the anti-nintendo series, it's entire design philosophy is the opposite of what Nintendo goes for. Xenogears is more in line but SE are huge c**ts to deal with.
I'd say Xenogears is seemingly a possibility now given the Super Mario RPG remake.
>why would they fund ports?
Anon where have you been the past 6 years?
As the other anons, explained, it all depends on Bamco/SE.
Saga might happen. Sure, the remaster idea that was rejected a while ago indeed was denied, but that was then. Now Bamco is actually on board with Takahashi's hype train and hey, they also remastered fricking Baten Kaiton, so it all depends on how that does, but i can at least see it happening

Doesn't Sony have partial rights to those
Maybe, but they also had partial rights to basically any Square game that came out on PS1 and PS2 yet those got ports to other systems.
They own absolutely nothing of those games, they had zero involvement of any kind.
OH MY GOD PAYING $60 EACH FOR 20 YEAR OLD BAD UNFINISHED GAMES YES
This, leave it to fricking tendies to beg for games that anyone with a toaster can emulate.
Xenosaga maybe. Harada said there was no interest but that years ago and he also said he would never give up + Bandai Namco is in the copyright notice for Xenoblade 3. Gears is forever stuck in limbo due to bad blood between Monolift and Squeenix.

Its not "bad blood" theyre just two different companies. If a deal is to be made money has to be exchanged.
nintendo doesn't have the audience for it
Just port xenogears to current consoles. No need to remaster.
Saga wont ever happen because theyre gonna keep making Blades. Nintendo cant even bother to port X to switch

If 2 weren't so fricked up I would agree.
If we are remastering these we can aim higher than the Nintendo Switch as the place for it.
It's really just that Bamco doesn't think people will buy Xenosaga. They think people will buy games that have KOS-MOS in them, hence Xenoblade 2 and both Project X Zone games (2 even had her team up with Fiora), but not Xenosaga itself.
Harada isn't wrong, nobody knows who the protagonist of xenosaga is
I genuinely thought KOS-MOS was the protagonist of Xenosaga all this time, just because she's on all the boxes and gets all the guest appearances. I guess Harada's right.
No one fricking likes Shion.
>Project X Zone sprites
great taste!
Nintendo doesn't have the rights of any of these.
And Takahashi would either prefer to make a retelling of those games inside the Xenoblade franchise, like how he tried with Xenoblade 3.
They funded an exclusive remake of 1+2 for the DS of all things so it's possible for Saga. Squeenix will NEVER give Takahashi the satisfaction.
the 1+2 DS port sold like complete garbage and was meant to market the release of 3 because everyone had a DS, and a PS2, lmao.
>didn't even hit 39k in a year
Jesus.
Yeah, 2 really just completely fricked the series. It was SO bad. 1+2 on DS is essentially reverting 2's entire combat structure to be more like 1. Nintendo didn't pay for that. It was completely handled and published by Namco
Xenosaga is very improbably but not impossible. Xenogears is a non starter.
What if Nintendo does work with Bandai Namco to not remaster or even remake xenosagas but completely restart the whole premise as a whole new series that effectively replaces xenosagas but makes a lot of changes to effectively make it less of a mess. It could be called the xenoblade sagas or something along that line.
We already have Zohars in Blade, it's far too late for that now.

They've basically already done that. They just don't say the "Saga" part out loud.
Sure worked great for Metroid Prime 4 right?
Frick, no. They didn't even pay for the Baten Kaitos remasters
>every individual game is $60
yes without a doubt
>xenogears needs a compelte redo of Disc 2
>Xenosaga is a mess with 1 only being like 1/3rd of the game it wanted to be, 2 being made by completely different people, 3 using content that was supposed to be 6 fricking games and making no sense

The exposition dump has become endearing with time. It got referenced in a game literally this year.
What game referenced it?
NTA but it was Hi-Fi Rush
NTA but Hi-Fi Rush.
Still not a excuse to not fix disc 2 though.
Why would they?
The BK remaster has a skip enemy encounters and end a battle in one hit feature, if they just add that to Saga Ep.2 the game itself would be dramatically better.
Watch how we will get fricking Vagrant Story and SaGa Frontier 2 remasters but Xenogears will be left to rot on PS1 again.
No, just emulate them or buy a PS2.
they already said there isnt enough interest to make those games, so no.
I gambled and bought the PS2 trilogy with strategy guides for $120 before the announcement
I highly doubt you got all 3 games + guides for $120. and if you did someone fricked up hard. since 3 goes for $300+ alone.
thats what im trying to point out, It was before the annoucement they werent going to remake it. I got it like 3 months before that annoucement. + this was around precovid. Im trying to find proof by ebay doesnt go back that far. only 3 years
Bro? Your Koudelka?
here.
i do regret forgetting to include it in that picture.
Absolutely based.

lmao, lol
>t. seething X gay
It's literally in the intelllictual properties information of the game as well as the credits, seethe harder.
>games are announced in the intellectual property information sections of their prequels
holy shit xenosaga copiumhuffers are on another level
>Takahashi literally stated that ending of FR would show what's next for Monolith Soft.
X gay still completely mind broken, couldn't even deny being an X gay to begin with.
I fricking hate people who want remasters of everything. If you were a fan of the game you would play it.
>If you were a fan you'd just pirate and emulate it!
Maybe I'm such a fan, I want it on modern platforms so other people can enjoy it too?
Yeah, bro just spend $300+ to get a used copy and PS2 or $1,000 to play it on non-shit PC hardware.
>Would Nintendo fund this?
No.
Nintendo is making bank on the current wave of Xenoblade. The current Xenoblade works in part because the new combat system that Blade 1 made, and because of silly anime tropes. at least you morons stopped claiming they don't do anything with gears and moved onto "well they do make merchandise regularly BUT WHERE'S THE PORTS!"
They would. There is some evidence to suggest Square is working with Monolith and Nintendo to remake Xenogears for Nintendo's next platform.
>There is some evidence
Did you leave it in your other pair of pants or something? Post it along with your claim, you mongoloid.

Both XC2 and XC3 have multiple 20+ minute cutscenes, moron.
Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) is truly the only good game they ever made
I can see xenosaga remasters happening. Xenogears is probably fricking dead unless Nintendo is paying square like super Mario rpg
