Meanwhile, PC has some tens of thousands of games. Most of them free, majority never seen on any other platform.
And the list only grows larger once you add the numerous TC mods and emulation on the table.
A big portion of Dragons Dogmas performance issues stem from the large overhead of npc code, where if you kill a lot of them, the performance improves.
I doubt if Wilds will have the same issue
I pray that you guys are right, it hurt seeing my rig suffer after having upgraded it only a year ago
I have this hope that it's aimed for release on the Switch successor which would pretty much guarantee for it to be optimized at least halfway decently.
Rise is already proof of concept of this. Sure, it doesn't look as good as world, but for a switch game it looks and runs incredible even during a rampage with 6 monsters on screen with the only lag i've experienced being inside the flooded forest water cavern

Im not buying a new cabinet to fit that thing in it.
More graphics is always nice, but I rarely buy AAA on release that demand it. First one in a decade was Dragons Dogma 2, and that one runs smooth with maxed lightning and everything else on low.
>3080 12 gb
I will never need to upgrade unless something meaningful comes out that isn't the size of an og Xbox, take 9 gorillion W, and cost the equivalent of a used beat up car.
I got one and I play 1080p60 with it.
I have a 144hz monitor but frankly outside of smoother mouse movement I can't notice any sort of difference in most games I play. >hurr why'd you get it
so I can use it for another 7-8 years like I did with my 1080 before it starts getting pushed out.
While I am making use of 4K, I'm in the same boat. Had a 980ti beforehand, bought when that was relatively new.
Gonna keep my 4090 for quite a while, hopefully.
I would sell it and keep using my 2060 super. Graphics past what my computer can handle dont even matter to me, and I don’t play competitive games. Modern games keep getting worse too.
I just upgraded from a 1070, it's a whole new world anon. Highly recommend, but I'd say unless you were really wanting to focus on AI and 4k, a 4070 (non TI) is more than enough. I have two rigs, one for my gf (not a big gamer) and one for myself, her 4070/13600k (just cause it was cheaper than a 12600k at the time) and I have a 4090/13900ks.
I love muh tarded raytracing, and muh AI (run a LLM and we both ERP with it and it's great fun), but I haven't come across anything her 4070 couldn't do, with 1080 or 1440p res instead of 4k.
And of course for all of her sims smut modding and stardew and minecraft, she's golden, plus whatever I force her to play with me.
I've yet to see anything it couldn't run, though.
4090 is the safe bet then, for sure. But honestly the 4070 is still a very very very safe choice, even with the massive expansion of vram reqs nowadays, PS5 and xboner x cap out at a SHARED 16gb vram, leaving an effective 12-14 for gaming. Expectations are 24gb vram for the pro models, but just like last gen, the pro models are highly unlikely to be the determining models for devs. In fact, we already see that now, for the first 2 years MS was SCREAMING at devs that they HAD to implement higher parity between series S and X due to the S hardware being far more available. This is exactly why every game still had a fricking ps4/xbone version up until last god damned year.
NEXT generation, currently slated 2026-2027 isn't even expected to be a leap to 32gb vram and even if it is, OS overheads and further and further sloppy development suites means it likely wouldn't be beyond 16gb of effective availability in vram, so we might finally see our cards being put to proper use.
Of course, they could also go for more "lmao they have more power just brute force" like they have been, so, up to you, but I think the 4070 will probably be fine for any game most people here would want to play.
no because the 5090 is just a couple of months away. I would feel bad running that garbage at 450+W when the 5090 will be able to achieve the same thing at half the power. They're probably going to do some new DLSS 4.0 exclusive bullshit again for the 5xxx series.
not really
I bought a 4070 a few months ago, despite the fact that I only play 10+ year old games. I already have an excessively powerful card, so I don't really need an even more excessively powerful card.
Not really.
I still play on a 1080p screen and I don't play modern AAA garbage.
i have my self respect and a 7900xtx, im good thanks.
>1080p
you have my pity. You might aswell play on a Xbox360 with that resolution.
1440p ultrawide is the new minimum benchmark for decent pc gaming experiences.
Sex with Ferns fat ass.
Why is she so smug?
She's supposed to be holding a potion that makes your clothes disappear
She's about to frick big human wiener
Because she knows what men want.
She knows she is the real prize for men, the GPU is just gift for her future husband.
Because she just did the NTR
Sex with Aura
I'm good
I don't play videogames so no
RTX 4090 is not a gaming card
And you'll never be a real woman
Weird deflection, but okay. I hope you can come out some day.
maybe try to not make a stealth anime thread on a video game board
I presume you post a lot about identity politics though
>sousou no reddit
Yes, we know you hate popular things
No, not really. I would be thrilled to get an Xbox. PC gaming is for porn addicts that go and make AI porn and play hentai games.
Xbox has no gaems.
It has like 600 games on Xbox Game Pass.
And yet 0 of them are good! So strange.
>unironically shilling goypass

with how much ai porn i generate for myself, absolutely yes.
>nshitia
no
No. My case nor power supply would be able to handle it
im on a 3070 ti
Nah I already have a 3090, and I dont really want a house fire.
The only thing I’d be thrilled to get is pussy
so go out and get some
No reason to upgrade
I would be thrilled if you homosexuals stopped spamming your generic fotm isekai anime on the video games board
It's a normal fantasy show
Actually it's native isekai
Rape elves
>reddit the show
How is it reddit?
it's popular. thus reddit
>it's popular. thus reddit
I agree that Ganker is reddit.
nah, I'd sell it. i'd rather you just give me money.
Emulating PS3 games doesnt require more than I5 10300 CPU
so I'm fine
That doesn't make any sense, everyone knows the ps3 has no games
Yes, i would sell it and get a Akrapovic exhaust for my bike.
no wait, i will need to replace the fricked up rear shocks with a ohlins shock.
I have one, it's nothing special. It's just a tool to help make shit faster.
I could sell it for a grand at least so yes actually
Nah, I got an XTX already.
Yeah. I'd sell it and get an XTX.
y is yuno handing me a 4090
It'd be nice to have but next year's AI models are gonna btfo our current ones so might as well just wait for next year's gpus
I have a 3070 is it worth upgrading?
If 60fps is acceptable to you then just use DLSS and tweak settings. You'll probably be fine until the 5070 comes out in less than a year.
I went from a 2080 to a 4090 and could not be happier. The performance is nuts. AI text gen is also based as frick.
My only PC right now is my Steam Deck. Modern component prices are too expensive to build another PC.
>have to buy a new PSU as my current one is 750w
If it's a 4080 super then maybe
Is there even a game with playing that I need one?
If Dragon's Dogma 2 is any indication, I'll probably fricking need one to run Monster Hunter Wilds at a decent frame rate.
It probably isn't any indication. They're two separate teams.
I pray that you guys are right, it hurt seeing my rig suffer after having upgraded it only a year ago

I'd say yes, because I'm a poorgay, but then I have to buy another PSU.
yeah
Literally what I would do to my elf gfs ears
i don't want a literal 350W GPU as a space heater in my room during summer. AC is too loud to keep on all of the time.
it wouldn't even fit in my case
also i run at 1440p, it would be a total waste
i'd probably sell it to afford a future upgrade
No.
My 4070TI works fine, I'd try and sell it.
I've always played old shit on cheap garbage hardware. You can't tempt me.
I'd need a new case and power supply, so I'd probably leave it in a drawer until it's obsolete
i couldn't care less about graphics
minimum settings my beloved
>burning connectors
>Worn out elfhag pussy
No.
Now post the pic where the thing overheats and burns her clothes off.

I'd be very thrilled, I'm still running a 1070 and I barely scraped minimum specs for DD2, though the game ran perfectly fine outside Vermund.

It'd honestly just be about the futureproofing for me, an upgrade that massive would have me set for a really, really long time.

I actually know jackshit about GPUs and video specs. I just upgrade my computer every 5-10 years and get whatever sounds fine.

Yes new e-bike for me
Yes so I can play with AI toys.
Yea
I would sell it and upgrade my whole PC and buy a 2080 or something.
