wouldn't it be really cool if there was a class that 7/9 of them outright cannot fight back against under most circumstances and one of the only two that can actually fight him is himself

>kills you with a charged bodyshot
>taunts
How do you respond without sounding mad?
Nice shot
>targets him for the rest of the game
>deadringers
>laughs with you
>killbinds to reconfirm the kill
its just that simple
presented without further comment
>Everyone is suffering from a massive case of skill issue
I'll watch that. No need to buy an ad.
I got about 15 minutes in before I got tired of it. Lots of much better players than you have made better videos and raised better points than you.
JBird probably has the most well thought out and reasonable arguments. I also trust him much more because he
1. Plays sniper competitively and actually knows how competitive tf2 works, which you clearly do not.
2. Has more hours in sniper than you, and plays the class casually doing way crazier shit for fun.
I think chilling the frick out, and actually giving competitive a shot would greatly benefit you and your ego. Also your video blames video essayists for the sniper issue which is incorrect. This propaganda was started by Zestyhomosexual, if you check the timeline you can see that before his video, this kind of discussion happened but was considered scrub talk. Now that a major, very salty and scrubby, TF2 YouTuber has an opinion, all his shit fans need to parrot it.
Not either of those anons but competitive should be disregarded on the principle of how lazily bolted it is on such a casual all-around fun game.
You have no idea what competitive tf2 is or how it plays. The competitive mode in the main menu is a joke. The competitive scene for TF2 is now full of skill issue homosexuals and total morons trying to be Unkl Dan XD.
It used to be a very intense and fun sphere. Anyone who's been in the comp scene knows what a tight knit and fun community it is.
Comp is full of homosexuals that want the game to be balanced around sixes and somehow convinced valve to nerf shit that they had already banned from comp anyway.
Nice headcanon. Are there unicorns in your Magical Dreamland too?
There's unicorns in hightower. I'm one of them.
I still laugh because
>Heavy can't be played because he's too slow unlike Soldier and Scout and Demoman! He's unviable!
>*valve adds tools that make heavy faster so he can get to mid*
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NO HEAVY IS TOO POWERFUL BAN HIM BAN HIM
>you have no idea how fun our no fun allowed homosexual community is
kek
just kek
To be fair focusing on high movement does sound fun. But there is none the less the vibe of "might as well play quake".
>"might as well play quake".
I've noticed that too. Every gameplay vid nowadas resebels watching someone having a Parkinsons attack.
But competitive TF2 still sucked even before Valve made it official, people regularly banned stuff in tournaments for being "too OP" and then it degraded into certain compositions because they tried to powergame in a casual game.
Because the items were designed for casual play and didn't play well in competitive 6v6 or highlander. EG the fricking quick fix of all items is completely fricked in 6v6. It gives the medic using it an insane advantage, not in Uber building, but with how quickly the fricker heals your entire team. You basically force the other medic to play QF just to keep up with how fast your team can go from dying to healthy.
It's perfectly fine for casual and shouldn't be touched, but it warps 6s around it and shouldn't be allowed.
This is really not an advanced concept. If you've ever played anything with both a casual and competitive scene you quickly learn how fricked some shit gets when built around.
I don't play HL anymore but it sounds much better than the old demo/heavy meta. That shit was mind numbing.
>ple regularly banned stuff in tournaments for being "too OP" and then it degraded into certain compositions
The only thing that would change if they didn't ban anything is that they might have more than one medic or more than one demo. Sniper might get played because of jarate being useable but that's not an improvement.
>nasally voiced homosexual that reads comment in a mocking voice and just repeats "skill issue" for 20 minutes
average sniper main lmao
you could've just said "7/8 other classes" instead of that pile of redundancy
Sniper balance is a map design issue. If the sniper feels too oppressive, stop playing shitty maps.
This is not isolated to TF2.
This.
Sniper's biggest disadvantage is the fact that you ALREADY KNOW WHERE HE IS. This isn't Planetside 2 where he could be at any one of 357 out of 360 degrees around you. There are specific points designed for snipers on each map, so before you turn that corner, you already know a sniper is there.
So you're argument is we have to actively shut down multiple potential map designs (many of which are inevitably played anyway given these even include official ones run on valve servers) because of sniper?
You're also suggesting we have to veer towards the opposite direction. Maps having to be closed down to keep snipers from having no many long range vantage points, which creates its own problems.
>higher hit than all other classes in the game
google tf2 gameplay from 2008 and see the setup in which the game was balanced in and you'll understand why sniper was intentionally made stronger than other classes because people could rarely hit anything with him.
People played tf2 at 60fps. Eventually there will be people playing the game on 1000hz virtually reality neural links and this form of class will ruin any game.
yeah that sounds pretty banterous actually
>Troon Fortress 2
The only one with no counterplay is heavy, because sniper is the counterplay to heavy.
>weakest class in the entire game next to scout and spy
moron the only map you ever played was troonfort. not like it matters since official matchmaking is dead and that's all zoomers get
on the topic of comp that just helps explain how fricking powerful sniper is
he's the backbone of highlander and how you play/push is centered nearly entirely around him
the only real way to counter him is to outright not play the game and hide around a corner until your spy or scout does something
>he's the backbone of highlander and how you play/push is centered nearly entirely around him
this but medic
That's the intention for medic though.
medic promotes being aggressive so you can rob the other team of healing
sniper promotes being passive so you don't die in one shot (which goes against everyone else because every single other weapon is designed to kill you in two shots unless you're running stupid shit that makes you more squishy like the candy cane)
medic promotes being passive because you dont want to push until you have uber
sniper promotes being aggressive so you can rob the other team of the guy with one shot potential
Most of the people problem with any class is that they don't play that class enough to understand their problems, if you have play sniper you know how easy another players can frick you up if they know what paths to avoid and how to flank you and sniper just like spy needs their team to keep the other team busy to actually do something otherwise you are just free kills
>if they know what paths to avoid and how to flank you
Problem with that is there are plenty of maps that legitimately don't have viable flank routes to you. That and you can get good enough at sniper to headshot the people who do flank you.
