Probably something to do with equipment design. I never played WoW, does it have racially limited equipment? They've have to either create non-humanoid versions of equipment slots ( lmao not even remotely feasible ) or go back and add a "every race except the new one" flag to old equipment ( more feasible but would make players feel bad )

Druid bear form has never shown armor outside of a cool down which gave them a set armor set on the model. Warlock tank form in SoD is also an unchanging model. Trolls can equips boots and it just be ankle bracelets, legit all they would have to do is model chest/shoulders/helm/bracers(if applicable)/gloves(if applicable)/cloak/weapon animations/casting animations/ add in a few joke lines for /silly and the majority of people would be happy with it. For arrakoa in particular there is already a toy that turns you into one for a short amount of time, so most of the animations are already done, it's just a task of rigging armor that would be the brunt of the work.

It's world of elfcraft, anon. I would want more unique races but elves are the most played races by a fricking mile and they can just reuse human/nelf/belf skeletons. It's just safer to do elf+fur+tusks than put a ton of effort into something unique that would totally flop. Dracthyr are an exception about beast races because they locked Evoker behind it, and it sucks because they look awful.

I genuinely thought the only reason they came up with those guys was to make a humanoid serpentine race that would circumvent the problem of playable naga not having legs for armor and mount animations.

Sethrak can't happen, because blizzard know they can't shoe-horn making them neutral. And Alliance fans would get pissy that they didn't get Snake People as well.

Horde are on a no fun ban and have been since BFA.
Which is a bunch of shit because the Alliance walked away with one of the only cool races to come out of the allied race system, dark iron dwarves.
Meanwhile horde got diaper furs, a butchered nightborne model, and palette swapped orcs.
Let's also not forget that Undead Elf skins got introduced in BFA, during a plot centred around Undead Night Elves. With the skins then being given to Blood Elves because Void Elves were also getting them while Nightborne got nothing.
Or the fact that Eredar were given to the Alliance as a skin option in Dragonflight.
Horde's allowed nothing fun and I bet by the time of Midnight, we'll get playable Naga who transform into Highborne visages over Forest Trolls.
Not to mention Void Elves instantly became one of the most popular races in the game almost immediately.
And yet despite that it was the Alliance who somehow had it so bad in bfa.

Any expansion of the character customization system in WoW is impressive. WoW's creator has been Morrowind-tier since the game came out.
