Wrathion cant be an aspect since it involves developing your flight to fulfill its function. He went on a Black Dragon genocide as soon as he hatched. But he did put in effort to protect Azeroth, despite the horrible after effects of such efforts.
Ebyssian is the most active in Azeroth among the 3, without the negative effects that Wrathion had. He was present and active during Legion.
He is also the longest active sane Black Dragon, which would benefit the dragonflight as a whole if they want to avoid the nonsense that led to their corruption.
In game, the reason why Ebyssian was chosen is because the other 2 keep chasing the position for their own sake, since they feel like they were the one who should continue Neltharion's legacy. Then the Neltharion's basement raid happened and they suddenly remembered that Neltharion's legacy is terrible. So they voted Ebyssian as their flight leader.

Before the Demon Soul event he was genuinely the most respected Dragon ever, and was effectively the best friend of Malygos, hence why Malygos went so fricking insane after the betrayal. He was also an absolutely paranoid mother fricker.

He barely knows Azeroth as he's been in Outland most the time. Ebyssian was a much more logical choice.

There's a big questline where Wrathion and a literally-who from Outland named Sabellian fight for who will be named Aspect. There's some interesting stuff (they both try to shmooze Alextrasza so she'll pick a victor and she tells them to frick off)
Before second raid, they both get giant personality retcons where they become huge butthole homosexuals while Ebyssian shows up to talk about friendship and harmony in the most PATHETICALLY OBVIOUS shit I've ever seen.

When the dragons got cut off from the being they worshiped for power, they were eventually granted power by the planet itself, which is a forming Titan that has awakened.

ESO whitewashes just about every race to some extent, the Altmer and Dunmer are both MUCH less racist than they should be in the second era, and they had the genius idea of turning the Bosmer's cannibalism gimmick into a rare outdated practice that only a few isolated communities do, something that is utterly nonsensical, considering It was estabilished ages ago that the Bosmer take the Green Pact seriously enough for It to single-handedly shape Valenwood's very unique economy and diplomatic and military customs, and that's in the highly cosmopolitan Third Era.
I blame It on a mixture of the typical MMO writer genuinely not being able to fathom such weird societies existing and the need of not weirding out MMOwhales and normalgays.

The way ESO presents slavery in the first place is an example of whitewashing: The ESo book, "Argonians Among Us", tries to paint the relationship between the Argonians and the Dunmer as something similar to real life slavery, a paternalistic relationship justified by claims of a civilizing mission. That's not how it's supposed to be. Dialogue in Morrowind leaves the Dunmer opinion on Argonians pretty clear. The Dunmer don't bother trying to justfy enslaving Argonians in moral terms at all, because in their eyes, they don't need to at all. For traditional Dunmer society, Argonians are not "people" AT ALL in the first place, they're a particularly disgusting kind of non-sentient animal that DESERVES to be enslaved for being "blasphemous travesties of nature". That's why the Ebonheart Pact is nonsensical no matter how much ESOgays try to cope about It, the Dunmer even considering an alliance with Argonians that won't deliver them even more slaves is nonsensical, the same thing as the Dunmer forging an alliance with Cliff Racers.
Your Indoril example is another. The Indoril were supposed to always have been religious fanatics, as described in the PGE and in-game books in the main series. That's their main gimmick, there is nothing wrong with It, let them be fanatical zealots who are more than fine with enslaving other races, turning them into whatever you described is utterly unecessary and an example of ESO writers not being capable of properly depicting a society like the Dunmer.

You guys seem pretty knowledgable about ESO, do you know if unarmed combat is viable? I really enjoyed recreating my Khajit boxer across Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim and I'm thinking to try the same in ESO. The gimmick I had was that I could only use unarmed melee and potions, so no spellcasting or ranged attacks. Is this at all viable in ESO or will I get stomped for not having the +2000 sword of Dunmer Destruction?

I felt xiv was a decent enough game when I got to Ifrit, and genuinely started liking the story after Titan when it was revealed that it was totally Limsa's fault that they summoned him.

Same with any other game really, though I admit the end of ARR was really good and the 50 dungeons took a noticable step above the leveling dungeons.
The reason I use 50 as the break point is because that's when the game opens up so, so much more. All the raids, trials, beast tribes, PotD, flying and so on.
That's fair, I spent ages just doing ex trials at 50 once I discovered that the mounts play the music from the trial. Legit only mmo where I bother getting more than a couple mounts.
GW2 has neat exploration and HAD a good artstyle, but it's giga turbo pozzed now (like even more so than WoW) and the combat is chaotic and spammy. ESO is fun as a single player game for a while but has hilariously bad combat and raped the lore in a lot of places. LotR:O has a beautiful world but is pretty awful in every other regard.
They really shouldn't have advertise their next expansion with those things its such a turn off.

Alexstrazas cousin decides he has enough of Titanic bullshit, so he decides to form a band of Anarchists by inviting Iridikron to join him. Before Iridikron goes behind his back and invites Razagath into the gang and beats Alexs cousin/Fryakk up to steal his role of leader. All while Alexstraza ignores Titanforged yoinking unborn baby Dragons to Titanfiy them which pisses off her friend Vyranoth and she finally joins team Anarchist to stop the Titans, while powering up with elements.
They all fail and get locked up because Razagath jumped the gun and attacked Deathwing/Neltharion first because she found his secret Drac'thyr army, which forced him to give into the void to beat her ass.
Then the four elemental chickens get put in jail for 10'00000 years.
Fast forward 10'00000 years, enough people get sick of the planet constantly getting fricked so they side with the elements to make the Primalists to frick up any one they deem Titanworshippers and free the Primal Incarnates from their jails.
Raz is free and then leads the primalists in attempt to free the rest of the other 3 elemental chickens so they can finally defeat the Aspects once and for all. While Horde and Alliance researchers and (you) and Khadgar are invited to the Dragon Isles to help get the Aspects back their powers, sort out the Green and Blacks leader-ship issues and rebuild Tyr who's brain was stolen by the Infinites.

Raz manages to free the 3 other chickens as she finally succumbs to her wounds in their jail.
The other three escape to figure out how they wanna defeat the Aspects and avenge the purple chicken.
Drac'thyr have a schism based around Drac'thyr who wanna embrace the aspects and Drac'thyr who believe they should uptake Neltharions legacy.
Iridkron decides he's just gonna forward his own plans now and digs around Deathwings old island Drac'thyr training grounds and picks up a void mcguffin that looks like the Dragon soul.
He then tells Vyranoth and Fryakk to go do shit and bully the mortals and Fryakk should go consume some Shadowflame, while he then goes and makes a deal with the Infinites.
You chase Fryakk into the Mole People caves and find Deathwings secret underground lab which has a giant portal to the void under it. The Drac'thyr civil-war ends here because the Deathwing purists lead by Sarkareth gets corrupted by Void and is put down, with you finally sorting the Black Dragons leader-ship problem and elect Ebyssian as the new Black Aspect, while Fryakk huffs Shadowflame to go burn the dragon isles.
Before you can go chase Fryakk and stop him, you're stuck helping Kalec find all the missing Blue Dragons and bring back the Blue Dragon family.
Once that's done Iridikron's done making deals with the Infinites and attacks the timeways for a time heist.
You, Nozdormu and Chromie chase Iridikron and his infinite allies back in time to Galakronds downfall, where you're forced into an ultimately to stop Iridikron or the infinites who are trying to corrupt Nozdormu into Murozond. You choose to go after Iridkron to stop him from using his McGuffin, which you succeed in, but result in the Infinites raising Murazond early which results in the timeline changing.
Chromie says no and rewinds time and you go back through the gauntlet and this time instead of stopping Iridikron you stop the infinites, letting Iridikron win by forcing you into this ultimatum so he could win.
He uses the void mcguffin to siphon the essence of Galakrond and then leaves the expansion to give the mcguffin to Xal'atath the Harbringer, your Shadow Priest knife from Legion.
While this is all going on ,the Tyrsguard and aspects are still trying to rebuild Tyr and the Night Elves bring a world tree seed into the emerald dream to make a new world tree and Malfurion swaps places with Ysera in Ardenewald so she can train her daughter. 3/?

So now that Nozdormu is no longer gonna be turned into Murozond early, you get to focus on Fryakk and Vyranoth. But Vyranoth switches sides to the good guys because the shadowflame is already making Fryakk insane and he's going frick the Titans, frick the aspects, frick Iridkron and frick you. I'm gonna invade the emerald dream and burn the new world tree.
While all that is going on, Tyrsgusrd manages to build up their ranks and Chromie and Nozdormu manages to convince 1 infinite to tell/help them find out where Tyrs memory-chip was taken. To a different timeline and given to Elisande.
And thus the most final patch finally kicks off. Fryakk has a axe built and empowered by the Druids of the flame as he works with the new Firelord Smolderon to rip a whole in reality into the emerald dream and finally invades to bully all the Druids and Elves.
Ultimately the heroes win, Smolderon is killed first and Fryakk steals his essence. Fryakk then dies at the end of the raid and as a reward, Azeroth empowers the aspects + Vyranoth with new powers. Night Elves get their new world tree that blooms into Azeroth, Ysera goes back to Ardenweald after her daughter embraces her role as Green aspect and then finally after all that.
The Tyrsgusrd preform a time-heist and takes the Tyr memory-chip back from Elisande and Tyrs rebuilt.
Next up, the Gilneans and Worgen taking Gilneas back from the Scarlets next patch.

Thanks. I've mostly played the original RTS back in the day and private servers up until WOTLK, but I've been keeping up with the Warcaft story here and there occasionally. I have to say that it is no wonder that my interest is practically gone when I don't even recognize almost any of these names, and Blizzard seems to have become obsessed with mcguffins.
Unfortunately Dragonflight's probably the second biggest case since WoD of a script change since beta and initial expansion launch. We know more or less around the time of launch Metzen came back to the studio to start cooking up the World Soul Saga.
It's what led to the Mega-Dungeon having more story significance than 10.1's raid where 10.1 just got an ingame cinematic and the mega-dung got 2 pre-rendered cinematics to set up Xal'atath's return and Iridkron's departure from the expansion. Lots of shuffling behind the scenes went on during the expansion and it's plot to set up Metzens new trilogy which is why it can feel so disjointed.

I started playing WoW coming from XIV a few weeks ago but the simple fact the game forces you into the newest expansion and lets you skip over every single plot integral character, location, etc. just so you get to end game faster is a massive turn off. The stupid shit like that dragon c**ts siblings showing up in cutscenes even though I had never even ran the raid to beat her, because the game doesn't direct you in any order whatsoever put me off. I don't care if they gave you an option to skip the story to get to endgame faster, but the game is set up like Destiny 2 in content additions where new players are overwhelmed with pop ups and nonstop skipping being done. Nobody can ever get invested in the characters when they just keep forcing new people to skip any characterization being done. They are pushing this story shit hard and flopping a ton and I can see why XIV is the more popular game. Because it doesn't quickly flush everyone into whatever is in now.

Many quests and story lines in Dragonflight are about family, friendship, respect, forgiveness, compassion, acceptance. It’s like written for young children. Where’s the war and hatred? I’m not asking for things to become dark, gritty and edgy, but there’s gotta be some balance. The writers are playing it way too safe, and it makes things boring and bland.
