There tends to be Pokemon that are designed as babies to hang around them but aren't in that category, Teddiursa is one of them.
We haven't had an actual Baby Pokemon since Gen 4 and we only got one with Toxel.
There is plenty of Pokémon that should be Baby Pokémon or should have a pre-evolution(baby or not) because they don't make sense to be hatching from an Egg. That's what this thread is about.
Not every Baby Pokémon is a cross-gen pre-evolution. But for some reason every cross-gen pre-evolution is a Baby Pokémon.
Yeah cause why the frick would you make a cross-gen pre-evolution?
Technically they still do but that's reserved for regional variants/whatever that term we used for pokemon like Wigglet
>Yeah cause why the frick would you make a cross-gen pre-evolution?
makes it possible to obtain otherwise late-game pokemon early on, but this was only well implemented with magby, elekid, and smoochum
Uh no it wasn't lol
GS didn't have any baby Pokemon out in the wild and you couldn't get any of them besides Togepi without catching its evolution first and then breeding it later.
Not to mention both Magmar and Jynx are mid-game mons in Johto, the only baby you'd actually benefit from finding in the wild would be Elekid, Cleffa and Pichu since those mons are locked to Kanto.
Sinnoh is the only game that actually implements baby Pokemon well with stuff like Bonsly, Budew and Mime Jr. being available relatively early in the wild.
Crystal added the Odd egg, which had the chance of getting any of the baby Pokemon.

I know, I just meant getting a new baby pokemon in the modern day, the baby pokemon in 2 and 4 were introduced specifically for breeding mechanics.

Well they made a Pokemon unavailable for the sake of justifying a bad mechanic.
Not to mention the Odd Egg isn't a catch all solution when you could always get unlucky with Igglypuff which would be worthless when you can catch Jigglypuff in the route you receive it in.

Fair, it's an old game of course, I just wanted to talk about the baby pokemon mechanics in general.
It's something that could be fixed more with another revisit to Johto, something that actually matters and not the morons who still don't understand that Johto doesn't follow new gen standards.
>Sinnoh is the only game that actually implements baby Pokemon well with stuff like Bonsly, Budew and Mime Jr. being available relatively early in the wild.
BW2 with magby and elekid
The anime's gonna shove any Pokemon that looks like a Baby into the group no matter what.
Mechanically it just means a low form Pokemon that is also in the "No Eggs Discovered" Group. That's why others who still look babyish and evolve through friendship don't count.
Game Freak is changing the rules constantly so we might get actual babies that don't follow the rules anyway or you might as well consider them babies now, especially since Archuladon has destroyed the 600BST rule of being exclusive to 3 stage psuedos or 600+ gimmick mons like Palafin/WishiWashii/Slaking
List of pokémon that should have been babies >Ralts >Gothita >Solosis >Rufflet >Vullaby >FlaBÉBÉ >Hattena >Impidimp >Milcery >Charcadet >CapsaKID >Tinkatink >CeTODDLE
What's the point of introducing a baby pokemon in the same generation as its evolution?
Teddyursa doesn't really count as a baby pokemon, it just fits the criteria of looking like one.

Togepi and Riolu = they're given to you as eggs in the story
Toxel = fun quirk to make it baby
>Is a kitten
>Not a baby Pokémon
I think the criteria for baby Pokémon is rather moronic
I don't think there's anything wrong with the criteria. There just should be more Pokémon included.
Wailord disagrees
Male skitty and female wailord
>All artwork for this assumes Male Wailord and female Skitty and not the other way around
I want my fat giant whale wife as a tiny male skitty damn it
I don’t think so, in fact her age is what attracts Wailord in the first game.

Teddiursa has autism 🙁
baby pokemon are dumb get rid of them
Babies in general are dumb, get rid of them

I agree with everything in your list. I'd also add Phanpy, Mareep, Teddiursa, Skitty, Buneary, Phione, Sewaddle, Cubchoo and Cosmog.
Capsakid and Cetoddle in the same game is funny as frick to me
Babyshit ruined the anime and infantilized Pokemon to kids and teens. But at least we get cute merch!!!
she's like the slow 6 year old who still needs diapers
they look like digimon.
>Teddiursa
>pokemon associated with pedophilia
>surrounded by babies
What do they mean by this?
