It's really not complicated. I picked parts for my first pc from a reddit thread my buddy linked me a decade ago. While the knowledge I have now make me realize how inefficient my build was then, it's kinda hard to cock it up.
Just make sure your motherboard has the correct slot for your CPU (and on newegg you can retard-proof this by just selecting "Intel/AMD motherboard"), and that your RAM slots are the same which is very likely just going to be between DDR4 or 5.
There are weird problems out there, (for instance, the CPU was too new for my motherboard on my new build so I have to download some software and manually tell my board to update or it couldn't detect it) but this is the only oddball I've ever had, and I knew it was coming because I read the reviews. Every other time it's just making sure the parts match the slots. There is far more autistic stuff to make sure to get every drop of performance out of your parts, but in general it's minmax bullshit that you won't notice unless you want to get lost down the rabbit hole.
As for the building itself, just have a youtube video running on your laptop as you go along and keep you manuals handy and you'll be fine.
