FFXIV doesn't have any events or zones of lore significance so beloved that the fans demand for over a decade to go back
Nobody did this except maybe a few furries or lore nerds, and both are seen as a blight on WoW cause every time lore is brought up in a comparison between the two, people always defend it with "lol lore" as that is supposed to make WoW look better somehow in comparison.
So go on, explain how people care about this zone
Revamped flight based on Guild Wars 2's flying mounts. It goes a lot faster and has actual mechanics instead of just swimming through the air.
They're renaming it to Dynamic Flight in the next expansion when they open it up to a lot more mounts, it's "Dragonriding" now because it's restricted to a few dragon mounts designed specifically for the system (and a couple others added in the last patch).
Physics-based flight that goes 2 or 3 times faster if you're not moronic/armless. You can't afk-fly endlessly, but you can cross a continent in a matter of minutes.
Let's not pretend like we didn't have auto-run on while watching videos in the background back in tbc. Wow has done a lot of gay things over the years (figuratively and literally) but dragonriding isn't damning the game anymore than regular flying ever did, it just made it more interesting to interact with. Still not playing though, I'm not a self hating white millennial so I'm outside the currently pandered-to demographic.
Why would they stop? Even if they're losing subs they have a long, long way to go before they're unprofitable. Everquest is still running for fricks sake.
>wows peak >sells 12 million expansion copies >wows lowest >sells a meager 5 million expansion copies >plus subscription fee >plus cash shop >"oy vey thats so unprofitable they should just give up"
only wow addicts think this. people would celebrate the success of any other game pulling wows numbers
Gilnaes should have been reclaimed in BFA but they were too lazy to do it. Now the subs are declining they start doing cool shit that people have been asking for since 2010.
>Black person
No, you're the Black person here.
They remade the UI in dragqueenflight, probably to better suit the abysmal taste of elvui users, who like shitty soulless visuals.
parses have been a disaster for WoW. apparently people can get very good parses by ignoring mechanics and focus firing on the boss.
if the boss dies, the raid is successful. if the boss doesn't die, the raid isn't successful. very fricking simple. i get that you don't want to bring along shitters to something like ICC but at the same time i've never seen ICC because i can't get the right gearscore unless i farm the trial raid. that's one raid. i mean, that makes it so it's not impossible to see ICC, but i don't care enough to grind that much, so frick it. i don't care anymore. i've got plenty of other games to play.
>i get that you don't want to bring along shitters to something like ICC but at the same time i've never seen ICC because i can't get the right gearscore
you are crying about a problem that was fixed in 2011. if you want to see a raid with 0 requirements, lfr exists in retail
i didn't say i wanted zero requirements. i want requirements that are achievable. there's no point in going to a raid without the right kind of gear anyway. why are WoW players like this?
0 requirements was an exaggeration. you cant go into raids as a fresh level 70, but with a full set of open world gear youre good to go
[...]
they added catch up mechanics in wotlk dumbfrick, you can get almost 6k gs just by grinding rdf dungeons. if you cant meet the reqs for ICC thats entirely on you not willing to commit. the raid is a faceroll with all the buffs now. its funny how everybody who cries about parses inadvertently outs themselves as a shitter.
>its funny how everybody who cries about parses inadvertently outs themselves as a shitter.
yeah lol thats why i didnt respond to his bit about parses

i don't understand the point of having things hidden in the world when people are just going to figure it out, blast it all over the internet, and require you have all those spells before you see 'endgame' content.
>Please play our retailpig version of the game where we will charge you more for annual expansions which provide no real content as we literally keep the game in maintenence mode and rehash content from 6+ years ago with legacy raids and m+ seasons >Please play our fun server version of Wotlk, including a wow token and community 10 times more cancerous than your average private server. Aren't you excited for Cata? You know, the expansion which killed the game? >Please play our fun server version of vanilla, which is worse than a shitty private server ran by few trannies and which, unlike private servers, can't afford in game gms - as we have so many bots and gold buying paypigs that banning 300k accounts in December barely made a dent with prices of green lvl 20 items reaching 100+ gold.
Yeah I think I'll pass, WoW is unironically dead, so is Blizzard with their recent flops like D4 and OW2. Having remnants of a mentally ill dedicated fanbase of fanatic consumerist who would buy shit on a plate if it had Blizzard logo doesn't mean your games aren't dead
I don't know anon. Not rehashing dungeons in your m+ seasons from 6+ years old xpacs like Legion and Cata is a start. Same for filler content like legacy raids. No one cares about reworked flying on old mounts in old zones when teleports and portals get you almost anywhere. No one cares about another shitty dwarf race when existing ones (both of which are cooler) don't break 5% of race representation combined.
No one but absolute bots and lfr drones, which don't even play the game anymore, cares about delves which will be another slightly less repetitive thorgast with no real rewards.
No one cares about modern WoW lore and writing.
dragonflight had 8 new dungeons (10 if you include the mega dungeon) in its m+ seasons. just like the past 3 expansions with m+. the only difference is blizz added in old m+ dungeons each season so you werent running the same 8 dungeons for 2 years straight. id personally rather run 20 different dungeons over 2 years than the same 8-10 "new" dungeons for 2 years straight. would you seriously have been happier running ruby life pools for 3 seasons in a row?
dragonflight had 3 new raids. i dont think a single legacy raid was added? the last one was timewalking firelands back in sl. i think theres a datamined timewalking siege of orgrimmar that might be added soon. what legacy raid are you complaining about?
Dragonflight has as many new dungeons as most expansions, they just mixed things up in M+ so you're not doing the same set for the entire expansion. It is on the low end for raids, but I'm pretty sure they had one more that was cut because Metzen came back and wanted to save the final boss for a future expansion. >cares about delves which will be another slightly less repetitive thorgast with no real rewards.
It's a full new open-world endgame track for flexible small groups that gives up to Heroic Raid-level loot. If they actually get it right (admittedly, a big if given the previous few expansions, but they've done surprisingly well with systems in Dragonflight at least) then it'll definitely have an audience.
FFXIV could never

I like Gilneas, and I play humans and dwarves. Frick you.
Yiff in hell goldshiregay
Isn't this identical to the Ishgard Restoration in FFXIV tho?
nope
it's just like 3 or so quests where you kill random scarlet npcs afaik
Unfrick a fricked game? That's what it's known for.
>revealed in a soulless jpeg
Sad
Actually worldwide dragonriding does sound good
You think it does but it doesn't.
Didn't they nerf the speed?
>Reclaiming Gilneas
10 years ago, I would have been so excited
i dont understand what is dragonriding, i was riding dragons back in wotlk
Me too anon

Just what the game needs, more convenience! I never want to see another player while traveling ever again!
tbh you already never see another player in modern wow, so nothing was really lost
Let's not pretend like we didn't have auto-run on while watching videos in the background back in tbc. >dont play game
>still talk about it online
why cant ex-wowgays ever shut the frick up? no other video game fanbase has such a vocal amount of ex players
>more convenience
But this is actually more engaging, with old flying you just autorun and alt tab to watch youtube.
xivsters... get in the discord we need to prepare a response...
>SEEDS OF RENEWAL TM
christ
why don't they just give up? everyone else realized that the only way to regain player count is fricking brand deals.
It used to be that they could do "brand deals" with themselves, but now that they buried all their other IPs, they can't do that anymore.
Why would they stop? Even if they're losing subs they have a long, long way to go before they're unprofitable. Everquest is still running for fricks sake.

They should feel so embarrassed and ashamed of their game that they all long for a knife in their gut while a samurai chops their heads off.
Call me back when the name of the patch is The Unpozzening, where they remove all the homosexual troony shit.
Does this game have a free to play mode like FFXIV?
Yes, up to level 20.
You can go and do the quests, dungeons and side content of any xpac except dragonflight with it. PvP as well.
Oh for real? Will my stuff carry over if I get a membership? I might actually give this a shot then.
with the way the modern game works, up to level 20 is like 1% of the game, if that.
Yes
Not anymore. Level 20 is 1/3 to 60, and now you can go and do every zone in every xpac.
I unironically forgot for the past 6 months WoW existed.
you'd unironically have to have your head buried under a rock to not hear about season of discovery or metzen coming back
WOW! What does that troll & draenei customization look like?
>dragonriding worldwide
thanks blizzard, now I for sure will never resub
Gilnaes should have been reclaimed in BFA but they were too lazy to do it. Now the subs are declining they start doing cool shit that people have been asking for since 2010.
oh n-
Frick this ugly ass new remade UI.
Why can't they do literally one thing right?
>new
Black person that's what it's looked like since wrath
>Black person
No, you're the Black person here.
They remade the UI in dragqueenflight, probably to better suit the abysmal taste of elvui users, who like shitty soulless visuals.
>NPC dungeons
Incredibly based, should have been in the game a decade ago
I would actually play tank if i could practice routes and stuff with bots.
who cares about retail lol
gnomeregan february bois WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Why didn't SoD of Discovery take off? Has the nostalgia worn off?
It hasn't even started yet, level 25 is a meme
>It hasn't even started yet, level 40 is a meme
>It hasn't even started yet, level 50 is a meme
>It hasn't even started yet, level 60 is a meme
It starts at 40, classes have most of their toolsets at that point.
>mythic parses
nobody does mythic raids. heroic is a more accurate comparison
parses have been a disaster for WoW. apparently people can get very good parses by ignoring mechanics and focus firing on the boss.

incorrect. more like 5k.
Damn retail is so fricking dead
i don't understand the point of having things hidden in the world when people are just going to figure it out, blast it all over the internet, and require you have all those spells before you see 'endgame' content.
I just want to play TBC forever but apparently that was too much to ask for. Frick Blizzard
>Why didn't SoD of Discovery take off?
half the population of every server is bots
>demon customization
Unless I can give my succ a pee pee I don't care
If I want to make a twink to knock up Alexstrasza with, what race should I pick?
Keep paying it.
WoW2 when?

wotlk classic really was worse then wotlk private servers, sod isnt tho
