Zul'Jin deliberately chose not to heal himself so he could be a martyr of the troll cause against the elves. He wanted everybody that looked at him to know the elves did that to him and they all deserve to die because of that.

What disabled people want is not to be disabled, anything allows them to gein that agency they lost along their limbs, eyes or anything else. Honestly it feels like his story in early BFA was leading to "I don't need to be a warrior, I was better as a peace dude" and ditching the armour, in the opening he tries melee, gets some hits in but gets concussed, then turns the tide by putting down his sword and focusing on healing. Then we just got arthas 2 instead.
In before the storm they say he's 18 as of the end of the argus campaign in legion. At a guess BFA was 1-2 years of time making him 19-20 at the start of Shadowlands, which itself was probably another 1-2 years making him 20-22 at the end of SL, and we know there was a canon 5 year gap between the end of SL and the start of DF so at the start of DF he'd be 25-27, add another 1-2 years for the duration of time spent in DF and assuming no further time skips he'd be +-28 at the start of tww

They are clearly a race of subterranean bat people from an expansion that is taking place almost exclusively underground. Fur, claws, fangs, bat ears, plus the datamined bat/gargoyle mounts. There is no dark troll/night elf missing link because night elves are just what a small group of them mutated into after living next to the well of eternity, and even if there was why would they be far below the ground under an island to the west of pandaria?

The actual lore is that there's 13 people running around saving the world, representing each class in the game. That is ltierally what's happening along the story of the game.
Until Lich king, the lroe would aknowledge every playable character as a unique individual taking part in the world. You were an adventurer like every other. Beyond that, the dialogue swifted to mentioning you specifically and calling you a hero, pointing out the feats you had done assuming you 100% every expansion, and this is being followed nowdays. Yes, your character is idneed implied and directly refered as the guy saving the world every time along "a group of heroes", which is really stupid.
That's not mentioning the timeline and how fast all the events happen.
The worst part about not being a simple foot soldier is that the player character isn't treated as important, on the level of the named heroes, EITHER. WoW characters exist in a dogshit limbo where they're "champions" who will simultaneously get their hands dirty doing menial tasks and then later have to watch from the sidelines after beating up bosses as every big NPC ignores their presence - leaving them nothing more than spectators to the plot. It ends up feeling pretty jarring over time.
It worked when players were just nameless peons and should've stayed that way if they aren't going to do what XIV, GW2 or others I'm sure do and make the player integral to the events. It's something that I don't see enough people pointing out honestly.
Ironically I think that Khadgar's presence paved over some of the massive cracks. By working with players so closely he was able to act as the "champion"s representation at the big boy table so to speak. It was minor, I'll admit, but even that's fricked now.

At a guess BFA was 1-2 years of time making him 19-20 at the start of Shadowlands, which itself was probably another 1-2 years making him 20-22 at the end of SL, and we know there was a canon 5 year gap between the end of SL and the start of DF so at the start of DF he'd be 25-27, add another 1-2 years for the duration of time spent in DF and assuming no further time skips he'd be +-28 at the start of tww

Until Lich king, the lroe would aknowledge every playable character as a unique individual taking part in the world. You were an adventurer like every other. Beyond that, the dialogue swifted to mentioning you specifically and calling you a hero, pointing out the feats you had done assuming you 100% every expansion, and this is being followed nowdays. Yes, your character is idneed implied and directly refered as the guy saving the world every time along "a group of heroes", which is really stupid.
That's not mentioning the timeline and how fast all the events happen.
Nothing in the game suggests you're anything other than a living terminator working for the Time traveling dragons

The worst part about not being a simple foot soldier is that the player character isn't treated as important, on the level of the named heroes, EITHER. WoW characters exist in a dogshit limbo where they're "champions" who will simultaneously get their hands dirty doing menial tasks and then later have to watch from the sidelines after beating up bosses as every big NPC ignores their presence - leaving them nothing more than spectators to the plot. It ends up feeling pretty jarring over time.
It worked when players were just nameless peons and should've stayed that way if they aren't going to do what XIV, GW2 or others I'm sure do and make the player integral to the events. It's something that I don't see enough people pointing out honestly.
Ironically I think that Khadgar's presence paved over some of the massive cracks. By working with players so closely he was able to act as the "champion"s representation at the big boy table so to speak. It was minor, I'll admit, but even that's fricked now.
