The only reason I play more vidya than read is because even the slightest sound while trying to read causes me to fly in to a blood boiling rage.
But otherwise the diaries of heian noblewomen are great reads.

I’ve been told this is a sign of Autism, but I’m the same fricking way, and I have no idea how people pretend to not know what you’re talking about when you ask them to turn it down.
There’s a reason they tell you to turn off your phone and stop talking in libraries and movie theaters.

I'm not autistic. Apparently I have ptsd.

I'm a sensitive femboy who got gaslit for a bit and then she tried to murder me.
I dunno. I did say "apparently", it wasn't a self diagnosis.

But I didn't used to have this issue, used to be able to read on the bus or whatever no problem. Now the fridge running in the same room is too noisy.

            Mega cope.

Quentin's opinions are such fricking pseudo trash I still struggle to decide if they are ironic or not.

I don't know how people read while listening to music unless it's just white noise or some gay binaural beats shit

I find games and books both appealing because they're a collaborative effort between the author(s) and the audience. A game doesn't play itself (even idle games need a player to start) while the worlds within books must be imagined.

Yes because it isn't as expensive. And even some of the more mediocre books still have better writing than some of the best written video games. Only people with no imagination don't like reading.

Bear in mind books here likely includes manga, and also school textbooks when schools were down in a lot of places

Buying books is a mega waste of money. If you want to read, just pirate that shit online or go to your local library.

The only people who buy books are people who want to look educated. They'll never actually read them. They're meant to be pieces for their shitty coffee table, or bookshelf.

I read more books since I can pirate them with my e-reader, it's pretty great.

The truth is that books can delve into subjects that are simply unthinkable for video games. Gamers basically can't accept any story that doesn't have a clear cut enemy or something to fight every two minutes. And god forbid you try and make a game protagonist that isn't an utterly perfect self-insert.

Over 2/3 of that are textbooks paid by taxpayer money or student loans. The real book industry is way less.
