If it's Outer Worlds is anything to go by, it will be an okay but decidedly mediocre game.
Why the frick is Bethesda still the only company able to do proper open world "sandbox" FPS RPG's? Still mad that Cyberpunk was just Witcher 3 with guns when the early teasers made it seem like a proper RPG that could compete with TES/Fallout. JUST GIVE ME ONE GOD DAMN GAME IN THIS NICHE THAT ISN'T MADE BY BETHESDA.
True, but it was still fairly linear and locked down in smallish areas that unlocked depending on the story. I hope Avowed is more large scale and offers more freedom.
I.E, if I don't play the main quest, I still have access to 99% of the games content and so on.
>game made by devs who can't make up thier own mind first calling it "our take on skyrim" and then saying "no wait, we'll just focus on narrative instead" >soulless reboot of long forgotten ip that has yet to show any gameplay despite being in development for 6 years now
throw it on pile of of corpses, plenty of room next to halo, redfall, starfield, and forza motorsport
They are either doing this because they put an MS games only GP on PS and it won't be equal to the Xbox/PC version (at least not for now) or because they really stop putting day1 games in it. I wonder since they were found out they just want to rip the bandaid and announce all the bad news (no physical, no day1 - at least not for A-AAA games and no future) at once to see who stays.
IMO if they'll try to drop any, I mean ANY bad news besides the obvious then the leak on the Xbox boat will turn into a tidal wave and they have the very realistic chance of devs and players abandoning the console by next year. This year is pretty much perfect to lose all your userbase with the PS5 Pro / Switch 2 and PC getting stuff like the Super series. They will soon find out that they won't be able to sell GP without the value and the rabid userbase. Sure they will sell some but not nearly enough to justify the shit releases.
>They will soon find out that they won't be able to sell GP without the value and the rabid userbase
it's really puzzling to me what their play is here.
xbox aside, they are buying publishers only to destroy the business model that they hinged everything on, who on earth is supposed to subscribe to gamepass without day 1 games?
now that they've bought activision, abandon xbox and gamepass, what's supposed to be the great added benefit of buying them in the first place if they're keeping the activision business model intact?
>who on earth is supposed to subscribe to gamepass
Yeah this is the question. It is not just about day 1 release necessary but that was a very attractive way to get people subscribe. Every time a new game came out it was competitive to say "well it is $10 in GP" for people who wanted to play now and didn't care about ownership or planned to buy it later for cheap. With removing day1 then GP will essentially turn into a worse PS+ simply because it is on Xbox. And PC GP is a whole another thing. It not only has the issue of "no steam no buy" but piracy directly competes with it as most MS Store games are getting abandoned by the devs quickly. If they didn't kill Xbox then simply growing the userbase would have grown GP too as in the console space where they control the prices (especially with going all digital), a cheap library is a very good offer. It works on PS too and doesn't affect the sales.
In short, by killing the backbone of the subscribers - the console - they will kill the service too. They will turn into a generic Tencent like publisher who may have a few good games here and there between the usual bombs. Eventually they will stop doing these interesting projects like Grounded and keep doing the same sequels everyone does. And if any of their big purchases (COD, WOW etc) starts failing then their entire business will be gone.
it's not quite like that for japanese games since there are too few xboxes in japan to warrant a port without gamepass, but it's true for their western games.
Probably means nothing. Or else they wouldn't put the Gamepass logo and link to join on a new release. But it's odd they changed it around the announcement.
I know that consolegays love to defend their favorite brand and try and downplay any other brand, but you, as a consumer, don't benefit anything from any brand exiting the market. If either Xbox, Playstation or Nintendo leaves the console market, it means that the remaining company/companies will have a larger market share. Easier manipulation on prices of hardware, services, games, the quality of said games can also take a further nosedive. And the companies won't have much to worry about because people won't have any real alternatives.
Xx_JeSteR_LeSteR_xX just messaged me on X, says this was the final straw. He's jumping ship to nintendo. He thinks he will fit in just fine with the pokemon community. Xbox is finished.
oh so they're getting rid of day 1 gamepass? what's the point then?
the word "xbox" is being phased out
now it's known as the "microsoft gamepass"
and they replaced series X/S with just console/PC
that was already debunked
it has just been rebunked
xbox fans apparently
snoys just keep losing
>rn
yeah, phil said the announcement is next week
gamestop spilled the beans early as usual
Who gives a shite about sony? Western can’t make good console
>Jez Corden
>rn
Jez is not an xbox employee he's just a content creator.
Phil Spencer already confirmed they're going multiplatform.
Xbox lost
>Following Elon
>xbox fans apparently
Imagine being fan of a console brand.
Who cares?
who cares
not sure why you're pretending those games are worth a damn to begin with
I don't think you're very smart, if you ignored OP's very clear message.
Nah avowed will be decent AA 1600s era fantasy.
>Nah avowed will be decent AA 1600s era fantasy.
Cope, it looks dogshit and smells like India
>avowed will be decent AA 1600s era fantasy.
its a basic 3d version of pillars of eternity, same world and all.

the outer worlds was the closest to that i've seen
True, but it was still fairly linear and locked down in smallish areas that unlocked depending on the story. I hope Avowed is more large scale and offers more freedom.

Dead on arrival.
No one wants to roleplay as an incel.
That Fable game doesn't actually exist.
>kill xbox
>now they are killing goypass
lmao

should i sell my series x? genuine question.
Keep it until it becomes a retro console and collectors willing to pay thrice its price for it.
depends on how you use it. i'll still keep mine and i might still get the 2 years of gampass with the core loophole.
I will keep mine so I can play my old library, but will go into PC gaming next gen
too late. it's worth half of what it used to
might as well keep it
Sonychads eating go- oh wait it's all slop
Built for PS Plus
cool games I'm not going to play
enjoy your xir/xar game

Best xbox exclusive going to playstation
Game Pass is the equivalent of Direct to DVD for movies. Might get a hidden gem/cult hit but 99% are slop.

It's over.
There's a reason why Phil Spencer didn't deny all the rumors.
This is it. Xbox is done.
Probably means nothing. Or else they wouldn't put the Gamepass logo and link to join on a new release. But it's odd they changed it around the announcement.
Snoys are celebrating on Twitter that their gaystations will finally receive some actual games for a change. It's kind of heartwarming to see ngl.

Xbox Ambassadors were a mistake.

This game looks wokenized just from the cover art style.
