>Xbox has no plans to quit hardware
>heard some games (not all) are going multiplat
Wait a minute, so is Xbox out or not? Yesterday it sounded much worse than just this.

multiplatform games = dead console
doesn't matter what Microsoft wants, no one will ever buy an xbox over a PlayStation ever again. they're fricking moronic
they are quietly quitting. I bet hardware will be phased out over the next 10 years.
Xbox can't leave unless it finds a way to refund abunch of players keep in mind people might have 2 decades on Xbox or allow them to transfer shit to other platforms which would also probably force them to pay the money to do it
They don't nesscarrily care anymore I think they've conceded defeat they lost last generation and never recovered similar to BF vs COD Xbox 360 was close but then Xbox one blew it with no good exclusives and horrible marketing though I ask what thr frick is making the PS5 so popular despite having no games
They’re leaving in the sense that Xbox is going to become a cloud gaming platform and if you want to play your Xbox games then you’ll have to do it via cloud streaming in the future. Xbox owners are getting completely fricked.
Yeah pretty much 100 percent getting sued though for this I refuse to believe that this end up with them paying a class action
No they won’t. Sued for what? Changing business strategy? Lol
Can't leave?
They would only have issues in Europe. Americans don't have rights. Microsoft could just take away your games right now and you couldn't do shit about it. Microsoft stole a bunch of a my Xbox 360 games already by deciding I just didn't own them anymore on my Series X because of publisher changes.
Xbox is already a PC app, they'll keep releasing as long as the Series X is relevant and they'll just make all games Play Anywhere.
They're afraid of the Steam Deck?
This is the type schizo that owns an Xbox. The thread is full of insane seething lunacy.

>multiplatform games = dead console
So basically only Nintendo are in the running now.
>multiplatform games = dead console
but let me guess this doesn't count
It doesn’t because PC/Console overlap is a very small percentage of the market. Most people own one system and one system only. PC gaming is also too hard for normie brains to comprehend so for the average consumer it’s Xbox vs PlayStation and PC is its own thing.
>it doesn’t because PC/Console overlap is a very small percentage of the market
So Sony did quit consoles like MS did, after all you're saying that the overlap is low meaning they want that multiplat audience.
No you’re just stupid.
I play on PC anon, I’m not a peasant. They’re technically multi platform but the average consumer doesn’t consider them as such. Consumer psychology doesn’t necessarily align with reality.
>the average consumer
And why would they matter in this conversation? The consumer's belief doesn't change what's happening. Whether you like it or not Sony is going third party.
Old games. Is Spider-man 2 on PC? No. Is FFXVI on PC? No. Is Astro's Playroom on PC? No. Is Stellar Blade on PC? No. Is Demon Souls on PC? No. Is God of War Ragnarok on PC? No. Is GT7 on PC? No. Is Rise of the Ronin on PC? No.
Old games are different to day 1 which is the direction xbox is going in
>Is Spider-man 2 on PC?
sort of
ff16 will be on pc, as will Stellar Blade. Rise of the Ronin is more uncertain.
Nioh 1 and 2 both came out on pc despite being published by Sony worldwide. Is there anything about the arrangement this time with Rise that is different ?
This is different:
>Development on Rise of the Rōnin started in 2015, with PlayStation Studios' XDev assisting.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rise_of_the_R%C5%8Dnin
With development resources from a Sony dev assisting early on, there may be more restrictions on if they can port to PC. It may happen though but less certain as noted.
Is Rise of the Ronin on PS5? No.
It was just Sony fans celebrating a little early.
All of these games will come out on PC eventually. Sony has even stated they will start putting their games on PC day 1 starting with the Until Dawn remake, just like how Microsoft releases their games on Xbox and PC. The difference is that you only have to pay once, and you have both the Xbox and PC version, whereas you'll probably have to pay twice if you want both the PS5 and PC version.
Dragon Quest Builders was made with a sony proprietary game engine. Didn't stop those games from eventually being released on Switch, PC Xbox, android and IOS.
>no these multiplats don't count because [consolewar delusion]
embarrassing
No, PC gamers are not in the same market as console gamers. You have to give people a reason to buy your hardware, which means you need exclusive games and IPs. Microsft doesn't have that now, it's game over for them. Why pay $500+ for a console when you can buy another console for the same price that offers those same games plus games you cannot get on another one? You wouldn't.
And I'm going to be honest, PS games coming to PC might end now that Microsoft is throwing in the towel. There's no reason to do that anymore
No, it doesn't. People will buy a PS5 even when there's nothing to play on it, nevermind for a 3rd party game. Sony is the Apple of vidya, it is a status symbol.
>Sony is the Apple of vidya, it is a status symbol.
LMAO
People want two things
>value
>games
And Sony has neither value in subscription services, or AA titles slated.
Pretty soon the vapid nature of their business structure will be shown for what it is. The dust on consoles will be damning. It is they who'll port just to make a profit and a chance for crumbs the other way.
>People want two things
>value
>games
Then why does GP have less subs than both PS+ and NSO despite being on the most platforms?(Xbox, PC, and mobile)
Because you need a $1000+ supercomputer to play games on PC, no one plays real games on mobile, and Xbox is in last place.
Skewed numbers
PlayStation Plus has been around for a while. Over 13 years, to be exact. In all this time, the service has gained over 47.7 million users. On the other hand, Xbox Game Pass made its way into the industry back in 2017, and as of April 2022, 21.9 million were for Game Pass (excluding PC).
Take into the initial install base of the PS5 due to PS4 sequels, and viola.
It'll change though.
>XBox fanboys are this mad
OWNING physical madia while seeing through Gabe's bullshit will keep Sony ahead.
PS5's latest model (PS5 Slim) requires an online patch before its disc drive will work. Look it up. Physical discs will mean nothing when the last system that can run them without Sony's servers being up will be the original PS5.
>And Sony has neither value in subscription services, or AA titles slated.
I mean, that's Apple in a nutshell.
There has never been a reason town a non-handheld console. What ™ is slapped on it doesn't matter.
HAHAHA YOUR RUMOR WAS BULLSHIT AND NOW YOU'RE IN DAMAGE CONTROL
HERE ARE THE FACTS
PS5 FIRST PARTY TITLES DATED FOR 2024 + 2025:
- 0
Just buy a PC
I think their plan is to make there be no distinction between Xbox and PC
Or at least that's what it should be if they aren't moronic
No
there is is the damage control
At this point just go full software and multiplat, and keep making the xbox controller. das it.
i wonder how console brand warriors like this guy feel right now
Suicidal except Snoys they are overjoyed I don't know for what they have something still completely inferior to PC
>they have something still completely inferior to PC
for $500 it's expected
>Brave new gaming world is coming
Black person WHAT
more female Black folk heroines
it's black history month
get excited for product you wont own
You will own nothing, etc.
Digital-only consoles made by subcontractors.
They obviously don't want to scare normies away from buying Xbox consoles, so the Series generation will continue, with a slimmed down Series X on the way this year. But this is most likely the last generation of Xbox consoles, and that is fantastic news.
the damage is done, now one will buy an xbox now.
Jez sisters.. Were we originally wrong?
Let's say you're a prospective console buyer and you're stuck between a Series X and PS5. You hear that Xbox games are now heading to PS5. Why would you ever buy a Series X?
It doesn't matter if Microsoft still intends to keep making consoles if their games are on other systems.
because it's cheaper? that's the current base for xbox consoles, it's all poorgays. which is why they want to port their games to the places where people actually fricking buy them like steam, ps, and switch.
Xbox Series S is cheaper and the PS5 is still outselling it.
that poorcore will probably still stick with xbox as long as it's cheaper though.
Because games are what people buy consoles for and Sony games, while not the best or most ground breaking, have tons of hype and marketing around them to make them bigger than they really are and casuals eat it up in droves. Xbox didn't have that till last year with games like hifi rush and starfield and this year looked even more promising with indiana jones for example which are the types of games which catch people's attention. But instead of capitalising on a finally good slate of exclusive games they are willing to throw away all the positivity for corporate greed assuming the rumours are true.
It does make me wonder how this information is so widespread though. Almost like they're gauging peoples reactions. If they have an sense they should have seen that abandoning the console instead of keeping this momentum is a moronic move. Too worried about short term gain instead of long term. That's been a consistent theme of xbox in the last decade. Just when they do some things right they make a moronic as frick corporate fueled decision and then they're back to square one.
Xbox hardware will become a controller and a USB stick used to stream cloud games. It’s over.
"No plans to quit hardware" means that digital only console they're gonna try to force
I'm so happy that I dropped console gaming after the 360/ps3 generation, imagine actually buying a xbox in 2024 LMAO
>Brave new world of you not owning anything and being happy is coming
>response to Steam Deck and steam deck 2
steam deck sold a few million units at the absolute most and is a complete nonfactor in any conversations around the main 3 console companies.
It's the beginning of what this guy is going to use as a pivot for getting the "Xbox is releasing all their games on PlayStation and Nintendo" thing wrong.
Anon, they're quitting hardware, they're gonna pivot to selling "Xbox" Gaming PCs.
All of that's meaningless until something gets officially announced
Remember the Xbox One pre-launch scandal? All of that shit got walked back on over the course of several weeks
This is also like the tenth time Microsoft has seriously considered exiting console hardware business so it's fair to say at this point it's less of a "will we quit?" and more of a "will we keep going?"
Why do fatd willingly put their faces on the internet? It's revolting.
>sony makes multiplats
*crickets*
>xbox makes multiplats
LMAO IT'S OVER FOR XBlack folk SONY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can someone explain this behavior?
Sony fanboys are part of a cult devoted to Sony.
Only MLB the Show is on xbox. The steam games are all old games, steamies subsidise development cost buying 3 year old games. Marathon and Concord are day 1 but they're live service garbage doomed to fail.
Most games will go multiplat and this is why: If you spend a lot on a AAA game you need the PS5 release, if a game underperforms then you need to release on PS5 to get your money back. Them supporting Series S and X for another 5 years doesn't mean they're not effectively out of hardware if all those games are on PS5
>Already backtracking
Who would have thought that someone going "just trust me bro" on twitter isn't exactly the most reliable source
I'm torn, on the o e hand Xbox brings nothing of value to the industry but on the other hand Sony is likely to become even more israeli and cucked in their absence.
When you put it this way, I now want Xbox to die so I can see how much more israeli Sony an get and how far snoys will go to defend it
Outside of Nintendo the competition will be digital. Apple Arcade and App store will have AAA games often in 2 years and Microsoft will still try to push ahead with game pass, what they really need is game pass on PS5/PS6 and slowly backing out of hardware increases the chances
Xbox acquires Activision:
>"NOOOOO THE MONOPOLEEEEE NOOOOO"
Bullshit rumors of an Xbox bow out which would cause a Sony monopoly:
>"THIS IS GOOD NEWS"
Before:
>"STARFIELD IS MEH"
After:
>"OMG GUYS IT'S COMING"
>"IT'S A BAD GAME BUT IF IT COMES IT SPELLS THE END FOR XBOX"
The hypocrisy. It oozes.
It was never about a monopoly, it was only bad because Sony was losing. The same people bemoaning Microsoft potentially having exclusive COD in like a decade are the same homosexuals gleeful about the idea of Microsoft leaving the console business.
WTF does the Steam Deck have to do with anything, have I missed something?
Nothing at all unless MS is worried that Valve could release a home console to compete with PS6 generation using the Steam Deck to learn.
I'd buy it.
Steam Deck for comfort.
Steam Console for power.
Isn't this what they're doing? They're for sure working on a new VR headset, and they're gonna have a PC-like box for streaming high-end games to the headset.
I suspect they’re absolutely going to enter the home console space. They’re the only company that really could and there’s a power vacuum forming. A Steam Box would be a scary opponent for Sony. Steam Deck already proved they could make good console-like hardware. Improvements to the OS to make it more console-like and plug and play with a TV would sell like crazy. Especially if they do something like Orange Box 2 for launch, giving HL3 + L4D3 + TF3 as bundles for it.
>Valve could release a home console
Legitimately what does Microsoft do in that scenario? They're forced to either abandon PC or abandon consoles. They can't let Valve's console have all their games day and date or else no one is ever buying an Xbox again but if they stop putting games on Steam, they might as well not even release games on PC. PC GP is $1 and people would rather give Valve $70 instead, even if they make PC GP free(with ads) people would pirate them to skip the ads.
Microsoft is moving out of consoles in the traditional sense. They’re going to pivot completely to cloud gaming, gamepass, and publishing. Xbox consoles will be like a USB stick you plug into your TV with a controller or a small box that the games stream to. The next Xbox console is going to be game streaming and digital download only. Then eventually they remove digital download entirely and you either buy a license to get uninterrupted access over Xcloud for the game or you can play it on GP over Xcloud with possible queue times and time limits on your access. They are pivoting to try and dominate cloud gaming because they would rather be the big fish in the small pond than have to compete with Sony in the big ocean.
There's too much random garbage out there and too many twittergays trying to be the new "dude i'm an insider follow me and subscribe to my youtube channel"
I don't think a few games going multiplat should be indicative of a longterm strategy and I don't think Microsoft is going to do anything until they actually say that's what they're doing.
Xbox has absolutely nothing to worry about.
Feels good to not want to play any of those
yeah those grapes are sour anyway
Total list of PlayStation first party titles confirmed for 2024 and 2025:
-
I don't really play Sony first parties, they're all California mentality games.
Spider-Man reshash 2 was a first party title
Yeah, didn't play it, and was definitely a California mentality game.
Phil Spencer (eventually):
"No, we're not doing any of this. I'm not sure where the rumor started, but, what I can say is, if everyone is looking forward to playing these games, you know where to find them, the Series X"
>would be the best gotcha ever
Steam Deck 2 confirmed????
2024??????
>*causes Microsoft to exit the console market*
KNEEL
Of course they aren't quitting, why would these guys reduce the number of machines available for them to put their store?
Here's a fricking hint for you mongs, history doesn't repeat, at best it rhymes. Microsoft isn't Sega.
>Steam Deck mentioned out of no where
Kneel
Microsoft does anything to gaslight PlayStation's dominance.
>xbox goes full multiplat
>uses the extra revenue from putting halo and gears on ps5 to make the base price of the next xbox console half the price of a ps5
>goes all in on the "xbox is a pocket PC" angle and gives xbox owners native keyboard and mouse support
Sounds like a good plan.
No. Have you been in a coma?
They aren't saving up to subsidize your next console. Xbox has never been a viable platform and has always been reliant on reluctant charity from the rest of Microsoft. After 80 billion for Bethesda and ABK didn't move the needle, Microsoft is just done with burning money on gaming and Xbox. Advertisements are going in everything, layoffs everywhere and all of the developers will be pushed into developing for phones.
Not even kidding Microsoft should make a portable Series S ala the Deck I think it'd be a hit
at this point we have to wait for microsoft to say something
Makes absolute sense to release all their games on other platforms. They get the sales, they get the mtx.
They sell their own console on gamepass. OK they're releasing starfield and hellblade 2 etc on ps5, but the ps5 crowd has to shell out top money on each and every game. Gamepass bros get it for sub cost.
>Fat shill damage controlling
Wow shocking
