Xbox Info

>Multiplatform information was leaked by Xbox and Zenimax employees who were royally pissed by the decision.
>This decision will be addressed by the end of February. Exclusives will release slowly so the fans can adapt to the change, just like Playstation did with the first exclusives coming to PC
>The first games coming to multiplatform are Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. Both are going to be announced at a Nintendo Direct (possibly this week) with the PS5 platforms being announced after the show.
>Redfall, Microsoft Simulator, Age of Empires and Pentiment are also coming to Playstation.
>Starfield on PlayStation 5 is all but confirmed. The game was in development for PS5 like Hi-fi Rush before the acquisition. The game also undepeformed severly and Microsoft really doesn't care for the game anymore.
>Halo and Gears on PlayStation will depend on how well Starfield and other titles sell. There's a lot of resistance from people below management on the decision. Indiana Jones might not come to PlayStation if Starfield underpeforms.
>Microsoft isnt abandoning the console market but they will go full digital and will also allow other companies to release their own version of the console capable of running Xbox games (think of what Nvidia does with Geforce RTX). Some of these companies will be MSI and Dell.
>Microsoft is planning to turn Game Pass into what Netflix was during it's peak. They want to release the service on PlayStation, Nintendo and any other device capable of running it. The goal is to go back into being mainly a softwate company as hardware and disk sales have been underpeforming for them for years.
>All releases followed by Hellblade II will be digital only at $49.99 with a few exceptions.

Ok, im not a mentally ill Consolewargay, if I have to switch to PS5 its whatever, its not like im a 10 year old needing to justify my choice of console because my parents would have only bought me one of them

I can see Nintendo accepting gamepass, but I doubt Sony would agree. How would this even work though?

    >no reason to ever buy an xbox
    >MS is done making consoles, will solely focus on publishing games and distributing them via GP
    >your only options for consoles are now PS and Nintendo
    >PC, as ever, remains unaffected

I don't think they'll abandon the hardware side entirely. They'll make another Xbox, probably more along the lines of the Series S where it's just powerful enough to run current games at minimal settings as well as their OG Xbox/360 back catalog that can't be ported over for one reason or another.

Absolutely this. The console will just be a "minimum specs" box. You can play all the Xbox games there at a cheap price compared to the PC and probably even PlayStation, but they won't focus that much on being "the most powerful console in the world" (which technically wouldn't be lying if they come out first) anymore because they literally don't need to. Console exclusivity for at least a year would also be an Xbox console perk going forward (but same day on PC will continue to be a thing).

Considering I'm on PC and that's how I've been playing Xbox games for years now anyway (Hi-Fi Rush and Starfield included), I really don't care if games go to PlayStation or Nintendo since that doesn't suddenly mean I can't play their games anymore.

Thank god I just have game pass didn’t invest money in a game library on Xbox. I someday knew this would happen when game pass took off

unironically a good thing ,most people dont want to build a gaming pc/deal with major techical issues and just want something that werks, even if they make third-party xboxes there will always need to be that option for consoles

I'm kinda interested in the "any company can make an Xbox console" thing.

There's nothing stopping somebody from making an "Xbox" that's just considerably more powerful than whatever the Xbox/PS of that generation is a year or two after the fact. Just a constant stream of incrementally more powerful Xboxes.

Oh sure there's just way too much fricking random noise right now and I don't believe anything until Microsoft actually says it. I'm just interested in the idea of an "open console platform"

Its unironically the best case scenario, we will always need consoles because normalgays understandably dont want to deal with things like driver updates or trying to find out why their game crashed, there will always be PlayStation but that cannot persist as a monopoly for obvious reasons

If MSI,Dell, and Asus or whoever else just make consoles that run a dedicated Xbox OS and all the games (Game Pass,Store,or otherwise) without the headaches of PC Gaming, thats literally better for the consumer, im sure PlayStation will still be the more popular option but its better then just handing them the monopoly on high-end gaming hardware

Too little too late. The damage Xbox made to gaming is already done so what's the point. Also all that shit and they still refuse to port Rare Replay.

It's the right decision, xbox hardware loses money and game pass is flat. Those employees are dumb because PS5 will just keep building momentum
