I bought picrel because I was under the delusion that XSX was backwards compatible with previous Xbox gens, but apparently it's only a select number of games in each gen, and some of the games don't even work well. So now I'm having massive buyer's remorse.

I've played several of my of my back compat games on the series x and none of the had any issues. It's just the same as with the xbone. What of games run like shit on series x and why would they?
GTA Vice City runs, but it's a port and not the original, and not all the features work.
GTA4's boosted frame rate literally breaks the final mission of the game and makes it unwinnable unless you use tools.

sony doesn't want to test games in a software emu en masse unless they make money from selling them digitally. the only times they've made good backwards compatibility it's been hardware based, except PS3's PS1 emulator.

You can play a bcg offline for 24 hours. Then you have to reconnect to verify again, same if you want to change game.
