If they don't have any nostalgia towards their IPs, there will be 0 interest in an underpowered device that is aimed at children and has a lot of 2d 3rd party exclusives. I like Phil but he's stuck between being too much of a casual to appease hardcore gamers and yet unable to appeal to casual gamers either. F2P Halo, CoD and Starfield should be ez casual wins but they don't seem to be working, while all of the "hardcore" stuff like console emulation, backwards compatibility, Psychonauts 2 and the Perfect Dark reboot have been half-assed.
It's part of the business plan. Hardware is a profit pit. They are taking over with cloud gaming and game pass. Don't expect you smallbrains to get it, but feel free to listen to the quarterly earnings presentations. They are made public per SEC requirements.
I'll forgive all of that if he just ordered a Lost Odyssey pc port.

I disagree with that. I thought it was a fairly average JRPG. The gameplay system is innovative for a turn based but ultimately just becomes a headache to manage due to how skill transfers work.
The game came on 4 disks and had some great scenes that mixed cutscene and gameplay, like that part where kaim is whooping ass on top of the train. Microsoft basically wrote Sakaguchi a blank check. The game had a massive budget for a jrpg and a good budget even by normal standards. It was also a high quality product. My personal favorite final fantasy game.
The fact that a game this good is still stuck on 360 is disrespectful. And than Xbox division wonders why no one cares about them. Casuals don't want game pass they want smart phones. And this shit doesn't cut it for anyone else

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a Microsoft game. Maybe it was Quantum Break back in 2014...
Snoy relied on contractual exclusion as opposed to quality, while m$ tried the comparably (keyword) more honest 'lets trust our devs' approach though atill engaged in meddling as a publisher. The problem with trusting devs is the people development teams are comprised of + aforementioned publisher meddling. If you have a dev team full of people that enjoy PLAYING video games in conjunction with having decent skill in programing languages AND aren't bothered by whoever is footing the bill, you generally come out positive. But when devs are full of people that care more about 'sending a message', being 'politcally correct', and 'representation', you get Redfall, Halo Infinite, etc.
On nearly all sides, the industry is filled with people that don't actually get any enjoyment from the medium and merely see it as another means of culture curation and validation.
