Wow, who thought PC would support 60 fps @ 4k considering it's 3 gens ahead in hardware with not a single developer taking full advantage of any of it?

Yeah just spend $3000 on a PC, I'll play Starfield on a console that cost me 300 bucks no problem 🙂

where do console players get these numbers for gaming PCs?
especially now that SLI is dead

One top end GPU is $1600 dollars now. I built a system for crysis iwth SLI two top end cards and the whole thing was under $1400

a 4090 is never worth it, 1400 (which is less now than it was then) would certainly be enough to get a good PC for starfield. (especially better than a 30fps cap), unless the PC port is ironworks-level botched.

    >not uncapped framerate
oh boy are we stuck with the pre-76 days of anything above 60hz either crashing the game, or having fricked up physics?

Why are people so shocked that a Bethesda game on console will run like a Bethesda game on console?

the consoles were sold on an idea that this gen would be different, so there's some real disappointment, especially cause starfield is supposed to define the generation, seems to have defined that this gen is the same, and mainly only cross-gen games will be different.

Imagine falling for that shit after last gen

many did, with 120 fps support for some games, it seemed it was finally behind us for a moment.

Weird that they would let Starfield change their view on the gen when plenty of other games have been able to lock 60 fps. The tech might change, but the devs don't.

starfield was "THE GAME" for bethesda for this gen, this year it's "THE GAME" for Xbox, so dropping the ball this bad is a shame.
especially now that many are used to a smooth 60, especially in an FPS game. (starfield is still an FPS game)

Starfield isn't going to be in esports. It's not a competitive online multiplayer game. It's an immersive single player experience.

Performance has not been tied to FPS since Fallout 76, thanks to some enhancements to the Creation Engine. Starfield will have an unlocked framerate.

Who in the absolute frick would ever play a bethesda game anywhere other than PC?
No seriously, what could possibly compel someone to do this to themselves?
It's almost as incomprehensible as playing GTA games on consoles.

game looks last gen as frick. a proper engine would make it run at 60fps with ease
