I genuinely thought COD was going to die 10-15 years ago but it's still going strong. So I doubt it's going to actually die now when everyone is already accustomed to the bullshit practices.
It's the only good multiplayer shooter. There's no other crossplatform shooter with good animations, plenty of firearms, or movement like CoD. There are milsims but they are complete jank with minimal content.
That's fair enough, the only real competition was Battlefield but that franchise might actually be dying with how things have been going. It's also arguable if current COD's really have that much content either.
True, the only thing that comes close is battlefield but even they seem desperate since 2042 had a free weekend and a massive sale right now, and people were saying Ground Wars in cod did Battlefield better than Battlefield itself.
>people were saying Ground Wars in cod did Battlefield better than Battlefield itself.
That's cope because Ground Wars was ass. But BF2042 was also fortnitifyed garbage because the suits don't understand why people play BF, so they tried to level the playing field with CoD by cutting their right hand off
>cross platform >plenty of guns >good animations and gameplay
What is destiny 2. >destiny 2 is shit though
So is CoD. Don't pretend you, a CoD player, is "too good" for destiny 2.
CoD is at least fun in bursts with the boys. Destiny 2 is for brainlets who have no goals or fulfillment outside of vidya, and need something to "work" towards, being drip fed by an over-the-hill dev whose last good game was 13 years ago (ODST)
COD lived it's golden age between 2007-2012. Afterwards it lost it's thunder to Battlefield while it tried (and failed) to "reinvent" itself every year. But a combination of Battlefield shitting the bed hard with BFV, and COD finally finding a niche to capitalize on (Fortnite zoomers), brought COD back into relevance.
It was dying slowly and surely, but I think they did a massive comeback with MW2019.
It was becoming weaker and weaker until MW2019 revived interest.
Then every game since then has been worse and worse and they are getting close to being at the same point they were after Infinite Warfare.
I haven't played Vanguard, but I genuinely think MWII is one of the worst CODs ever, it came out with no content, broken, every map was shit and then the post launch support barely added anything and just broke the game even more.
>this is the worst COD yet >sells more copies than ever
>So did they basically just buy ActiBlizz for the King/Mobile shit?
Yeah that's more or less exactly it. Blizzard was just a side thing they got as a package deal with it that had the benefit of making Sony's vidya division start malding.
The newest CoD game could literally be unplayable, as in a bug prevents you from starting the game and it will still be the best selling game of the year with a 7+ rating
They're desperate to boost the company's popularity back to its Xbox 360 days. They have no more than five years to turn things around or the division is getting shut down, according to Microsoft documents from the trial.
>They have no more than five years to turn things around or the division is getting shut down, according to Microsoft documents from the trial.
Source?
He pulled that number out of his ass. Phil Spencer just whined and said “why are you picking on us? We are so far behind the others, if you don’t let us have activision, we will have to pack it in.”
If that were true, there would be a zillion articles you could use to prove it. That would be huge news for the gaming press.
did you remember to take your meds before skimming these ‘court documents’? remember what the Doctor said, anon
morons too afraid to look up something because it goes against their world view? What a shocker. The board was flooded with this shit just a couple weeks ago and you're acting like it didn't happen. I'd just post the links to this but you'd probably just say it's fake anyway.
tl;dr. Keep coping. Nothing I said was a lie since it came straight from Phil's mouth.

Classic moron argument, keep staying in denial over what Xbox and Microsoft themselves have said.
One moron has an opinion and we have to think its true. Frick off homosexual you are not some exec you are just some stupid moron jerking off to splatoon characters
>They sort of had it in MW19, but it was a PlayStation exclusive mode for a whole year.
Wait, what? Did they bring back the shop too in where you could buy sentries/killstreaks for dumping on enemy AI?
Notice how butthurt the journos are about the merger ( even before ), they just make articles talking shit about MS even when they invented something about MS kek.
Holy kek. I have never owned an xbox in my life but god damn I'll admit journos really have it out for you xbucks sometimes. There's no way CoD is going to flop, any reasonably conscious person knows that this is a fact. This is the type of opinionated b***hing you'd read on the Steam forums or reddit or something, but somehow they decided this is worth making an entire article out of.
Sony overpaying for Bungie was a far riskier gamble but I can't remember a single journalist b***hing about it.
at least before I was able to get some satisfaction out of smoking console/controller kiddies with their aimbots while I was 100% unassisted, but now what's the point
>have MW2019 and Warzone >literal lightning in a bottle, best player retention COD's ever had, almost become the best selling COD ever and almost surpassing MW3, the peak of it's golden age >abandon MW2019 and push people to the next game, literally shoving Cold War ads on MW2019's launcher >completely ruin and butcher Warzone by trying to "tie it" with the following CODs >come MWII and Warzone 2 >think it's going to be MW2019 all over again, have so much faith you plan next year to just release a DLC for MWII instead of a full game >game ends up being shit >post launch is even worse >Warzone 2 is complete garbage nobody likes >rush the worst devs to ever work on COD to shit out a campaign to stick to the MWII DLC so they can call it a new game
Activision not just staying with MW2019 and continuing to release stuff for it is probably the biggest mistake Activision has ever made regarding COD.
I haven't liked the Treyarch games since BO2.
But I just hope their gulf war game next year is somewhat decent, just wish they'd stop doing moronic shit like "muh ultra rarity weapons".
I only played it during the open beta, and it felt like a massive downgrade from MW2019
Cold War is a kino setting though, so i'll probably just play the campaign when it gets added to gamepass
The market has outgrown cod's yearly release cycle but activision is too deep into sunk cost to make a change since they set up 3 separate studios and a bunch of smaller support studios just to churn out cod year after year
Hopefully with Microsoft calling the shots they'll realise how much better everything would be if they were just making one single live service game
>buys Bethesda >Redfall = shit >Starfield = shit >drops $70 billy on ActivisionBlizzard >MW3 = shit
ok, but honestly, how much longer does Phil have? I saw Pete Hines jumped ship, with Todd probably following soon after, why does everything Microsoft touch turn to shit?
>the corrupt gaming journalism owned by sony will now bash call of duty and overwatch to no end, finding fault in everything
All smiles here. Frick cod, frick overwatch. Frick wow too, but I think thats hoping for too much.
didnt read a single post in this thread, I simply buy the new game simple as. maybe another studio should make a AAA military fps, until then all this seething is pointless. mw2 was disapointing but this one is already better because it has guaranteed good map pool on release
why are they killing DMZ 🙁
I keep seeing people saying this, but where is the proof that they really are killing it?
as far as i know the only "proof" is that they havent explicitly said that the new map will be added to dmz
I genuinely thought COD was going to die 10-15 years ago but it's still going strong. So I doubt it's going to actually die now when everyone is already accustomed to the bullshit practices.

microsoft is pretty good at killing franchises
nobody could have imagined halo or gears dying yet they somehow did it

Cod is garbage but at least you dont have to farm guns so your number goes up so you can kill enemies
PvP/gunplay in D2 is a fricking joke with its bullet magnetism
CoD is at least fun in bursts with the boys. Destiny 2 is for brainlets who have no goals or fulfillment outside of vidya, and need something to "work" towards, being drip fed by an over-the-hill dev whose last good game was 13 years ago (ODST)
>So is CoD. Don't pretend you, a CoD player, is "too good" for destiny 2.
destiny 2 is one of the worst games of all time.
even bungie admits d2 pvp is ass, and they are not going to prioritize it ever again

Anon, everything microshit touches die.
That's Sony, snoy.
Says the moronic Xbox fanboy, last place forever moron
>Halo infinte gets a huge update and is revived
>meanwhile Sony
Man, being a snoy is real suffering.
>HALO IS REVIVED the seething Xbox cuck burbles for the 98th time
It was becoming weaker and weaker until MW2019 revived interest.

MW3 is still the best selling COD though.
They managed to kill Halo Infinite, the easiest free money machine they ever had
>Microsoft has wasted its money
You mean like the last 10 years?
>Reader's Feature
>""""Reader's Feature""""
The massive cope begins.
>CoD is an aging franchise only played by millennials
>Blizzard is a zombie company that will never produce anything good again
So did they basically just buy ActiBlizz for the King/Mobile shit? Because otherwise this seems like a fricking awful deal.
For King and Microsoft has a massive hard-on for market share.
>So did they basically just buy ActiBlizz for the King/Mobile shit?
Yeah that's more or less exactly it. Blizzard was just a side thing they got as a package deal with it that had the benefit of making Sony's vidya division start malding.
King and CoD. Doubt they give a shit about Blizzard. King will make the deal profitable no matter what, and CoD isn't going anywhere.
Phil Spencer has seen Blizzard's upcoming semi-MMO survival game called Odyssey, and he knows it's going to sell 50 million copies.
You'll see when it's revealed at Blizzcon on November 3rd.
The newest CoD game could literally be unplayable, as in a bug prevents you from starting the game and it will still be the best selling game of the year with a 7+ rating

Leaked Microsoft documents from the FTC case, just look it up.
If that were true, there would be a zillion articles you could use to prove it. That would be huge news for the gaming press.
>no actual source

won't stop it from selling billions.
>shit take from a nobody
OP is a gay as usual.
I'm actually upset that they didn't bring back MW3's survival mode. I want to set up sentries and gun down hordes of soldiers.
They sort of had it in MW19, but it was a PlayStation exclusive mode for a whole year.
>They sort of had it in MW19, but it was a PlayStation exclusive mode for a whole year.
Wait, what? Did they bring back the shop too in where you could buy sentries/killstreaks for dumping on enemy AI?
I haven't played it since late 2020, but I'm pretty sure you could purchase killstreaks and stuff from buy stations around the map.
Xbox trannies on suicide watch as usual
Notice how butthurt the journos are about the merger ( even before ), they just make articles talking shit about MS even when they invented something about MS kek.
Ay yi yi, Xbox cuck
xbox doesn't even have a slim model yet.
Well, that's what everyone said to him lol, I'm surprised he didn't deleted his tweet, I thinks it's ok when Sony does it.
Holy kek. I have never owned an xbox in my life but god damn I'll admit journos really have it out for you xbucks sometimes. hah
the only good game is a flop

Who cares, it still sells and having it on GP will frick over snoy
played the beta
there is now aim assist on KB+M

let me guess, you didn't play cold war?

Cold War is a kino setting though, so i'll probably just play the campaign when it gets added to gamepass
The game is worth it just for the campaign.

They bought Activision for mobile shit not codslop
Young people don't really try out new videogames.
Vidya will cease to exist in 20 years
>buys Bethesda

ok, but honestly, how much longer does Phil have? I saw Pete Hines jumped ship, with Todd probably following soon after, why does everything Microsoft touch turn to shit?
Why do journalist think MS bought activision for CoD? It's for the mobile crap. There's already a rumor about Xbox mobile.
*xbox mobile store
It's better than MWII but worse than MW19 and it's way too expensive.
>the corrupt gaming journalism owned by sony will now bash call of duty and overwatch to no end, finding fault in everything
All smiles here. Frick cod, frick overwatch. Frick wow too, but I think thats hoping for too much.
CoD, FIFA and Pokemon will always sell no matter how shit the games are. Microwiener invested well
Xbox already won, Sony are just doing damage control at this point
