>implying 2 doesn't have the best characters, story, world, and music in the series
Let me guess, you played the english dub and quit before chapter 5, correct?
I despise 2 with every fibre of my being but there’s no Xenoblade 1 has a better soundtrack, having one boss theme for a 50 hour game is inexcusably bad even by 2010 standards
It's a really good boss theme so it never bothered me. Old school jrpgs usually only had 1 boss theme, so I'm used to it
1's OST has Yoko Shimomura, so there's that too
>worse than 1
1 legitimately has bad characters. The villains especially are overall terrible and it drags the game down a lot. >Xord is good as a starter villain >Metal Face is great but he gets taken out of the story in the most moronic way possible >Egil constantly flip flops between being a tragic villain to being a complete butthole for no reason >Dickson's betrayal is literally spelled out to the player about 30 hours before it actually happens, and when it finally does it has no impact because he wasn't fleshed out enough >Lorythia lol lmao >Zanza was generic dogshit who only became marginally more interesting after XC2 retconned his backstory a bit
Probably talking about interlink.
Which I don't really agree with, Ouroboros level 0 are pretty weak outside of the temporary invincibility.
The level 3 ones are really strong but getting those does require you to actively be fighting beforehand.

I think he means auto battle, which was not only in Xenoblade 2 but does not work against any enemies that can actually kill you like unique monsters or Moebius
Ignoring your stupid fanbase shitflinging.

A new Xenosaga soundtrack was randomly announced yesterday.
The 20 year plan is coming together. Future Redeemed was correct.
PS2, yeah. There's a remake of 1/2 for the DS of all things but it's JP only and I haven't played it.
There's an undub which restores some censored cutscenes.
X>3>=1=2
I find it hard to say the numbered entries are better or worse than each other because they all have strengths and weaknesses in different areas.
While I enjoy the battle system of 3 the most, I much prefer the world design of 1, and the overall story of 2. X I just have great nostalgia for, which I'm not afraid to admit.
I don't understand anyone who likes one game but despises the others with extreme vitriol, they're all at least good.
I just had a dream that there was a new update for Xenoblade 3, that was a Pokémon crossover. Gen 3 Legendaries added as mechanical UMs. Like robot versions of Groudon, Kyogre, and Raquaza. They had the names like “Rumbustious Rayquaza” or whatever too.
It was weird, I was in a classroom with people I knew watching a Nintendo Direct.
3 sucks. It’s an ego project where a game developer who can’t let go of his past failures, tells the rest of the world to move on and embrace the future.
I only played 1 on wii and liked it. I tried 2hrs of 2 and hated it. I don't think I'm a xenoblade fans. My opinions has no weight in those discussions, yet I feel like there's enough people like me that it may matter (maybe).
Another thread claiming 2 is the best in the franchise, another day I still can't tell if this is a bait or genuine beliefs.
Maybe I just got filtered, but XB2 was just so fricking boring I don't see what people like about it to qualify it as the best in the series. I can understand why people view 1, X, or even 3 as the best, but cannot fathom 2.
Did you finish it?
It starts really slow, but once the plot really takes off and you unlock arts cancelling on all blades, you should have plenty of things keeping you interested.
Shame you have to play for 20-30 hours to get there though. I'd like to see a remastered version with a ton of QoL changes that address these issues, because XC2 is honestly one of the best games ever made.
When it came out people were pretty pissed and everyone looked disappointed, and now it looks like it's the GOAT according to this place. Is it just contrarianism?
I just played Xeno1 on the switch for the first time and it was amazing. I'd rather think the sequel is worth it.
more people played it. Xeno 1 wasn't remade yet and stuck on 3ds and wii. Xeno 2 brought in new fans overall but I imagine contrarian xeno 1 fans hated it for some reason. You can't really judge games on Gankers reaction since it's always trolls and only way later there will be a more or less unified opinion on the games. Now people love xenoblade 2 because it's a good game and always was.
I remember reading in reviews that the beginning was unbearably slow. Is this still true or it's just that they changed the system and people weren't familiar with it yet?
Also that Rex was kind of a shit main character, but people seems to have come around to like him, but i'm not sure how much of it is due to the memes in 3.
The start is pretty slow but if you're ok with taking your time then you might not feel it. I would argue 1 has just as much downtime or slow areas. Rex was always good, but you have to accept that it's a coming of age story. He's a teen so the main plot is mostly about his growth and the lessons he has to learn.
2 definitely starts slow. I'd be hard pressed to name a game that takes longer to get going than XC2 tbh. 80% of your combat abilities is locked behind progression for a good 20-30 hours, so it'll feel very slow compared to how the second half of the game plays. You're constantly waiting for cooldowns to expire, and you won't be able to "cancel" combat arts into other arts (essentially use one art right after the previous one, without having to do an auto-attack in between) until you've the necessary skills for it for each individual character.
Each character also starts out with only one blade, limiting you to just three combat arts and auto attacks for a good while, until you've unlocked a second and third blade per character. You also won't be able to use chain attacks and the elemental orb placement system, which the entire combat revolves around, until you've got three party members.
Once you finally do have three blades on three party members, and have unlocked the skills to cancel arts into each other, the combat becomes very fast paced, and you'll be launching attacks every other second, making sure to correctly time them like on a rhythm game.
This is also when the plot really starts to get going.
The combat is honestly very complex, so I understand why they locked it behind progression.
>but i'm not sure how much of it is due to the memes in 3
The haremshit in 3 actively detracts from 2's actual ending. Especially given how lazily it was implemented while contributing nothing to the story if not actively detracting from it by having Rex be completely fricking indifferent to seeing all of Nia's descendants in person.
Matthew and Na'el are like 5 generations removed from Rex and Nia.
He was already struggling just with Glimmer who was his daughter, expecting him to have some kind of "family" connection with people so distant from him doesn't make any sense.
>he was strugglin' with "MUH POYRA's" brat, so we shouldn't expect any actual development on this hamfisted shit they set up to appeal to the secondaries only interested in the porn
It's garbage, much like the majority of 3.

Yeah, that was pretty fricking stupid. Almost like this habit of trying to add new twists into their stories after writing and releasing them isn't working out. This one's just more egregious because it's just there to bait porn for relevancy, and get more people to whale on the 2 scale figs.
People got past the start. It is pretty slow till chapter 3. Then someone 3 managed to be even slower with more boring character and nothing to redeem it
XENOBLADE X SEQUEL WHERE!!!!
XENOBLADE X PC PORT!!!!
XENOBLADE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!
Future Redeemed helped XC3 of falling into complete oblivion, but if the next game isn't Xenosaga remake or a game that is both Xenoblade 4 and Episode IV, the DLC will become irrelevant, bringing XC3 to third worst Xeno ever made (after Episode I and II).
But then that'd contradict 3's themes of telling people to move on into the future, by showing that the creator who told them that is unable to do the same. So I think's it's kind of fricked regardless of where they go next.
Why are you morons even placing X on the list? It's not part of the numbered trilogy, and none of the main 3 games reference it in any way (also I never played it).
>x has the best world >mechs >starts off with way more tools available rather than locking shit behind 10 hours of story progression >less hand holdy >did I mention mechs? >more open and less linear which is great for a xenoblade game
The biggest downside is the hoops you have to jump through to get mechs and the ending is on the weaker side of the series. X is great

You know what, I'll give you that. 2's characters are DOGSHIT early on, but get a lot better late game
you can tell this person loves shitty 12 episodes anime
I quit when they went to meet the pope. What a boring game.
>quitting just when you've arrived at kinoville
Why do zoomers have short attention spans?
and battle system. The problem with 1 is the character aren't really that memorable except shulk. Even 3 has more memorable maincast and villains.
1 is overrated and 3 is over hated by shitposters (not real people)
2 > X > 3 > 1
That’s a funny reverse list you have there anon
1 > 3 > X > 2
Finally, an anon who understands the truth. The moment Xenoblade became Ganker slop it was hard to go back to it.
3’s story is utter dogshit, and the game has a “win combat” mechanic so that journos don’t get mad about being moronic.
>and the game has a “win combat” mechanic
?
Probably talking about interlink.

I never played Xenosaga. What's the best way to get into those games today?
Emulate the PS2 version? Is there an undub or anything you'd recommend?

That sounds cool, I'd play the shit out of that.
Reignites my hope that GF might steal Monolith Soft devs for a pokemon game like the BotW team did.
yup
3 and 1 are the best
But I obviously fapped to 2 the most
3 sucks. It’s an ego project where a game developer who can’t let go of his past failures, tells the rest of the world to move on and embrace the future.
Gonna sound like a contrarian but X is the only good one. It ticks all the right boxes for me.
1 > X > 3 > 2
X is very underrated but the 2 troons would shit on it if it got a rerelease as they do with every other game in the series
X>Torna>1>3>>>2

Stopped reading here. Outta here with your contrarian shit, you're not funny.

Switch X and 2, but 3 is easily the weakest of the trilogy.
