Ot is, the game opens on Melia's 100th birthday, she was 88 in the base game and 89 in FC.
This also lines up with the original versions of the party being around 10 at the moment of the reboot, as Mio is Rex's kid, born more or less a year after FC, which is when the photo was taken (Rex looks to eb about 10 years younger than he is in FR).

I like 3 a lot, at least as much as the other two, but I think the biggest problem with it is that, while all three games fall short in some aspects, the ones where 3 falls short are the ones that have come to define a lot of Xenoblade's identity.
As an example, one of the biggest defining traits of the series is the world design (it's basically become the JRPG to play if you like running around big locales filled with cool landmarks and beautiful vistas), but 3 feels kind of weak in this regard. It's still better than most other games, but not up to its own standards.
I haven't finished, the devs are fricking moronic and decided not to have Expert Mode from the beginning, I got overleveled by having fun and ruined all sense of progression and challenge.
The fact that we have the Noah/Mio amiibo upcoming makes me think they're not done with the game, and that they may have something like a Switch 2 compatibility patch or a straight up port in the future.
It's an aimless mess of a story with a shitty metaphor villain, set in a dull rehashed world, that constantly goes at odds with series themes, that ultimately only served to force two completed Xenoblade stories into a mold to serve Takahashi's inability to let his own past failures go, despite his insistence that you embrace the future. Also if your favorite legacy character wasn't Rex you pretty much got told to eat shit if you wanted to know about their future/descendants.

XC2 we don't know as much since aside from Rex's meme family, we only really know about Linka from Zeke/Pandy. Tora built half of Origin and Poppi powers the Cloudkeep. Morag, Brighid and Dromarch are the ones we don't know anything about.

I felt the combat system peaked right before Swordmarch: Get higher chance to break, stunlock enemy, get into Chain Attack, take all the time you need to kill it. After that it was either a cakewalk on Hard or me getting one-shot. The story started strong, but since the combat didnt have any more surprises and there still being a ton of fighting left in the game after Prison Island it just didnt reach the same enjoyment as 2 for me with its massive Blade gallery and Elemental combos.
Still, world was fun to explore as ever and music was good.
And if they are going to have hundreds of accesories, please have a better inventory system to browse and compare.

The environments aren't as interesting and the characters don't grow as much as the ones in 2. It was still pretty good and I enjoyed it, but it doesn't really reverb in my head in quite the ways 2 does.
3 has nothing going for it to make up for the atrocious combat system. 1 has Bionis and Mechonis which are kino to traverse, 2 has the sex appeal, 3 has neither of those appeals and Eunie gets blacked lol you couldn't pay me to play it.

I like 3 a lot, at least as much as the other two, but I think the biggest problem with it is that, while all three games fall short in some aspects, the ones where 3 falls short are the ones that have come to define a lot of Xenoblade's identity.
As an example, one of the biggest defining traits of the series is the world design (it's basically become the JRPG to play if you like running around big locales filled with cool landmarks and beautiful vistas), but 3 feels kind of weak in this regard. It's still better than most other games, but not up to its own standards.

XC2 we don't know as much since aside from Rex's meme family, we only really know about Linka from Zeke/Pandy. Tora built half of Origin and Poppi powers the Cloudkeep. Morag, Brighid and Dromarch are the ones we don't know anything about.

I felt the combat system peaked right before Swordmarch: Get higher chance to break, stunlock enemy, get into Chain Attack, take all the time you need to kill it. After that it was either a cakewalk on Hard or me getting one-shot. The story started strong, but since the combat didnt have any more surprises and there still being a ton of fighting left in the game after Prison Island it just didnt reach the same enjoyment as 2 for me with its massive Blade gallery and Elemental combos.
Still, world was fun to explore as ever and music was good.
And if they are going to have hundreds of accesories, please have a better inventory system to browse and compare.

I liked 3's setting quite a lot at the very beginning, but then it all went to shit when it was it was clear it was all "worlds collided" shit, which to me is basically the same as "it was all a dream". The villains were incredibly stupid and unappealing, with absolutely zero charisma except N, and the overworld was unfortunately boring. It's basically wow is that a reference!?!?: the game.
I did appreciate some references while exploring, true, but that gets old extremely quickly once you realize that's all it is and they don't have any meaning on their own, they have no lore explanation but fanservice; 1 and 2's own original worlds were way more interesting.
I was very intrigued at the very beginning and perhaps that's why I was left let down by the end, I suppose. In conclusion, X is still the best

I think the scale is there, it's just not properly communicated because of how flat the level design is, areas in 1 and 2 are more striking because they exist on top of titans, 3's area design is more like X in that it is primarily made up of large flat expanses, but X has the benefit of the verticality that the Skell brings.

I like 3 betrer than 2 and X, after 1 the franchise got weirdly experimental with its tone and gameplay, X felt epic in svale and scope but the story was fricking pointless nonsense and the general structure of how it is told is absolute ass.
2 went back to a more traditional narrative with lots of parallels to 1, but it was really poorly tolds with over half of it effectively being filler, and it also has a large amount of QoL issues.
3 is the one that comes closes in style to 1 while incorporating the best ideas from X and 2, such as interchangeable classes and Blades/Heroes in an overall better way.

I think it felt a bit too much "copy paste" here and there. It had some real good character moments, it felt a bit more mature, but at the same time it also had bad moments. Some very mute reactions most of the time from characters for example. Just overall kind of meh I'd say.
I liked the big breasts in 2 and the game overall had more soul even if it was a bit more childish. I'm hoping that next game they'll add more breasts and ass and more soul.
